Hey guys. Thought I'd post up this thread for any new Logi's out there who need help. Who better to help you out than me?
I'll keep this thread up for those seeking knowledge into the ways of true logistics (it's more than just a rep tool). Being on the highly competitive end of Planetary Conquest since it's inception into the game, I've gotten to lead and fight the best players in Molden Heath. I see a lot of players asking for help in logistics, and lead astray by players with limited knowledge and skill into this vastly diverse occupation in the game. You want to know how to give your slayers the sharpest edge on the field and still be at the top of the list? Come to me.

TheOtherCheek TurnIt wrote:How much range does a proto rep tool have on a maxed out minlogi? What are some good low slot choices?
Here we go. I placed the specs for you with range and dropsuit reps with the min logi bonus.
Minmatar Logistic Dropsuit w/ Racial Statistical Bonus:
Core Rep tool: Range: 22.5m Repair rate on Dropsuit: 87.5HP/s
Lai Dai Rep Tool: Range: 33.75m Repair Rate on Dropsuit: 87.5HP/s
Six Kin Rep Tool: Range:22.5m Repair Rate on Dropsuit: 110 HP/s
Rep Boundless Rep Tool: Range: 30m Repair Rate on Dropsuit: 112.5 HP/s
Core Focus Rep Tool: Range: 11.25m Repair Rate on Dropsuit: 156.25HP/s
With these bonuses in mind, your low slot choices should dictate around the advantage of the rep tool. Build around that starting as your foundation for the suit. Speed is always a plus. With 4 highs and 4 lows, you'll get a balanced outlook on the game. I personally like to go with moderate speed with enough tank to stay in the fight with my heavies. At the same time I still want to be mobile should I need to retreat and or engage in combat. One complex kin-Cat with two complex reactive plates, finished with a simple basic plate, will give you enough armor and reps (assuming you've maxed out all CPU and PG space as well) to fit your suit with over 700+HP combined with shield selection, as well as all proto equipment.
Hope this helps you out bud o/

Match Omega wrote:whats is your best method would u say that u deal with scouts
When it comes to being a Logi, by far you are the easiest target to hit. Recently with the min assault stepping in place for many former scouts, high DPS I find seems to put them down fairly easy. In a tight CQC, I use shotguns and maybe a mass driver for the ones performing hit and run tactic. It's hard for them to escape the splash. Even a militia or basic is good enough. The best scouts in this game tend to use speed. Combine that with an SSD hardrive, and your looking at a demon. Stay alert and crack them with 2 concise chest shots and they're done. Once they start spamming RE's, then you've got them beat. The mass driver is the winner in this situation. Just sweep everything out the way.

Match Omega wrote:so then what is required to be the best logi in the game?
Being the best Logi in the game is based on factors that separate you from the pack. Yet, for almost all, its personal opinion and favoritism of those who really are just sub-par. Most Logi's have a horrid overall K/D ratio. Since 1.8 in Uprising, my K/D dropped from a 4.0 to right below 3.0 currently due to game changes. I found that in doing PC of course, you'll find the most interesting and innovative tacticians. However The only "Logi" I found that was on par with myself in terms of generally gearing out 3500+ WP a PC match on a consistent basis while leading an entire 16 man unit during a highly contested fight, has only been myself and Reiselia from 0.H. back in her corps glory days. I have yet to meet another Logi other than her could multi-task a battle logistically the way I have. Back when I used to lead Gunfall Mobilization against Quickgloves in STB and DDB (1.4-1.6 UR), under my command we locked out QG and Jk40's team for about 4 weeks from district 2 on Skarkon 2. OSG had just lost their remaining districts, and my guys were the only ones left with any territory. We won about 75% of our engagements and prevented our district being flipped, until they had to come to me for negotiations. Upon which in the later days the district would be lost due to CCP's game defaults by DC'ing everyone but 6 players from the match on GF side. In FA's defining moment in single handedly taking on what would be later known as DNS, Zatara picked me up into the corp right at the start of the war. At first I had to earn my way into the squads of my choice. Once I got in we were able to form, in my opinion, the greatest PC team to ever play Dust. In one month alone, every district that was attacked by DNS was successfully defended... for over a month (we owned 16 at the time). Forcing Kain and Cubs to come to Zatara and broker a deal. Which we took with deception in mind. I feel I was lucky enough to play alongside the best tactical minds who gave me the opportunity to flourish as a logi. Skeletor Voltron and Himiko Kuronaga by far were the best heavies. When you paired them up, it was game over. We all worked together and because of that during DNS wars before and after we joined. 99% of the time I was right at No. 1 on the list with 4000+ WP by the EoM. (**** these guys even trusted me to lead them into many battles which was like amaze-balls). Public matches are... cute. However, the only logi's I would say are worth even the time are PC logi's. Even then most and almost all cannot FC and Logi at the same time effectively. I find that always my biggest challenge when I PC, more-so than the enemy on the other side no matter who they are. If your team is competent enough to get the job done, then you might be able to become the best logi.

Solid State Hard-drives give players a faster play rate due to the immense complexity of what the game delivers in terms of customization. Every match you play includes the market, all of your drop suits, chat channels, etc. Now multiply that by 32 mercs and here comes the lag. PS3 is no more different than a computer. So if you have a faster processor to deal with the game, your in an overall better "state" lol.

Leadfoot10 wrote:Not in my experience, having played extensively with and without an SSD and knowing a bit how computers like the PS3 work.
Said a bit differently, while playing the game (i.e. not looking at your suits), there is virtually no difference in game performance (i.e. frame rate) between the two.
Said even more directly: The game isn't reading disk much during a battle, and thus any performance gains are minimal.
Loading the game? Sure! Moving between your quarters and the warbarge? Absolutely. In the battle? Not as best as I can tell -- outside of the time of initial rendering of certain sockets which doesn't affect game play one iota.
If you have direct experience to the contrary, I'm all ears!
Why the eye roll?
Example. Outer Heaven to my knowledge has the most players with SSD. In PC they will always get to the points before anyone else UNLESS we send players with the same advantages to counter them.

Ahkhomi Cypher wrote:@ Rabbit about the MinLogi
Do you prefer to stagger your uplinks with multiple suits or equip multiple links to 1 suit then switch out? I know that both methods are useful for link coverage but which do you think is a better tendency to develop.
Good question. Since bandwidth was implemented, the max uplinks I've found to be able to drop are up to 10 consistently without fail. Unfortunatley in PC, out of the 10 uplinks I drop only 3-4 will survive the initial first wave of attacks once a perimeter is established. I have 9 individual drop suits geared for PC in a domino effect of logi work so to speak. the first two are geared towards uplinks primarily. Usually if my team can gain control of the match early, I won't have to go outside my two initial suits. A good strategy to develop would be to base each suit around a certain scenario that you happen to find yourself in. Pending on the fight, I even created a suit in which I equip two rep tools. The options are endless.

VECTORS ABROAD wrote:I have 18 million+ skill points and I am wondering if I should respec to get a gk.0 logi along with a mk.0 logi and prototype all the equipment except for cloak field and systems hacking. would like some tips thx
The two main suits you should have as a logi are the Minmatar and Amarr; everything else is preference. The Gallente Logi is making a bit of a comeback in terms of E-War against Scan-dampened enemies, and general all purpose sit rep of the enemy location. However, still I find the suit struggling to compete with the amarr and min drop suit. Outside the suit as a whole, it wouldn't be a bad move to spec into the Gal logi. There is a use for it competitively. Master your hacking skills. Cloaks are worthless for a logi suit, leave that to the scouts.
Hope I answered some questions

How is scout? How is Assault? How is Heavy or Commando? It requires a set of skills to master, just like any class. Those who say "just hold R1" have never run a logi in PC.

Use whatever you feel will get the job done. I use my CR,SG,MD,SL the most often as light weapons, pending on the situation. Secondary I love to use the SMG and Flaylock.

Ku Shala wrote:As a logi do you prefer being squad lead? does having command orders help your performance as a logi eyeing out the enemy and directing the players you support with logistics?
How practical a role is pilot logistics?
I do prefer squad lead due to the extra points and access to orbitals. Command points are always a plus. Furthermore it does help in terms of spotting those that can't be seen as an immediate threat, though I would prefer the feature of secondary command orders for other players in squad in case I can't see what my teammates can.
Pilot logistics are vital in my opinion. They have the ability to place links in high places immediately, which is why the amarr logistics would make a perfect pairing in ADS. The amount of time to call an ADS, get inside, and fly to a said objective from the ground would take over a minute. As crazy as it sounds, one minute is all it takes to be on the losing side of the battle. Having your Ace already airborne from the start of the match will give you access to strategic advantages later during the match.
