Anyone has any idea what he was running that he just ate my proto swarms for breakfast? I saw a tank like that relatively recently, shield tanked Gunnlogi had a Prof V Minmando Wyrkomi firing at it, a PLC on a Gallmando and an 80GJ Railgun firing at it...it just refused to die...might just have been bad hit detection/hit application server side (we did finally take it down with 3 simultaneous jihad jeeps...and then we called in an OB on where it died...just to be sure) Overkill is best kill.

What makes this fit a bit more difficult to is generally is primarily its high mobility and acceleration almost requiring a scout suit to go after it; and if there are any infantry on the field near the said tank forget about chasing it on foot. Get an LAV and a friend and bail out to ambush the sucker and hope the LAV buys you enough of the HAV's attention to get into proper position. Overall keeping damage on the target is going to be difficult and it easily recovers the lost HP if ever threatened.
The second issue is the guy simply pops out and deal with you is generally an hmg heavy if you're working alone and he is aware of you. If you run into that sort of tanker get a hack max fit instead to steal the tank as you play ring around the rosie with him. If you're lucky you can turn around and run him over with his own tank.
As for the shield tank itself if you're using swarms you're only supplementary damage. If coordinating with other players position yourself in likely escape routes instead and hope your friends damaged it enough to get the killing shots. The idea is to pressure the sucker to death not to concentrate firepower. Ideally you want the anti infantry to open up and harass it down and force it to blow its modules and mag dump to deal with you and thats when your allied tank can then come into the picture and deal with it.
The general point of failure of taking this tank on is that people far too often come at it one at a time and the smart pilots behind the wheel tries to only engage one target at a time and resting between each engagement. Constant pressure and cutting off the chance to recover are the best bets.
If we only had a stasis webifier this tank fit wouldn't survive as easily.
Flux nades would do quite a bit and time them out instead of blowing them all in the first set of the engagement cook proper and throw to give the tank no room to drive away from the explosion.
Also if you're in a squad and the guy you're trying to kill is known for popping out of the tank.
Get your decoy to run out there and get him to bail out and then OB his ass or sick your best sniper as back up and hope you can down him before he hops back in. Also REs near exit points work as well (right side exit generally) just most pilots should know not to be stupid enough to get out if RE'ed. Though you do occasionally get them.
Another thing pilots love to do if they are RE'ed with even a single RE is run to their red line. This is also another place where you can set up one heck of an ambush if you control this zone.

Anyone has any idea what he was running that he just ate my proto swarms for breakfast? I should add to Cat's post that at the same time I was shooting said tank with my Level 4 Python with an XT-1 Missile Launcher. He was repping through all the damage BOTH of us were putting on him.

That is not possible. Mechanics simply don't allow for that. What is possible is that you both reloaded giving him maybe 6 or so seconds and he could actually activate his passive regen.

Until tankers start calling for vehicles that can actually be killed by AV as easily as vehicles can kill infantry, they will get zero respect from me.
You know where you can shove your "respect." Three XT-1 missiles to kill a heavy/ three forge rounds to kill a dropship. 3 remotes and a flux to kill any tank. If only infantry had acess to giant installation with 12 hitpoints with free large turrets and unlimited ammo... really dude, get good. Since when are the current large missile turrets anti infantry? You are really going to complain about not being able to kill a heavy unless you hit him 3 times when you have like 9 (or whatever, I dont use large missiles much) more missiles in your clip? And yes I agree forge vs. dropship is much more balanced, but if your dropship is getting killed by 3 shots of anything but a breach forge gun, you need to refit. And are you seriously telling me to get good while you're implying that you regularly get killed by remotes and turret installations? Remotes: Use your ears. No one should ever be able to attach more than one remote to you. The only time a remote should ever kill you is if a jihad jeep rams them into your tank or if there is a bunch of other AV pecking at you and the remote gets the last hit. Installations? I mean wow, you get killed by immobile installations that spawn in the same spot in every match? I dont even. The only time I ever die to either of them is if I'm not paying attention at all. Unlike most tankers I am perfectly comfortable saying it was my fault, not some imbalance in the game, especially since the rest of my game experience both in and out of tanks points directly to the opposite: that tanks are incredibly imbalanced and overpowered. Hell the only time I remember being killed by non-jihad remotes in the past year is when my friend was trolling me by throwing equipment near my tank so I kept moving, until I finally started ignoring it and sure enough some scout came along and got me. Again my mistake because I stopped moving away from equipment drops.
I am telling you to get good. Listing ways infantry can be a very real threat to vehicles is not the same as "ahh its dangerous nerf it" in the same vien you are whining about tanks.
I don't pretend to be the untouchable 'bwa haha ha kill everything and nothing has never touched me.' If the enemy is any good at AV its going to be a good fight. That means a clever scout will catch me off gaurd, or a redberry will hack blue installations behind me to cut off my transit route. Most guys who say "i only die when..." usually are the first to get dropped by those self same things. Chill, and git gud.
Redline for Thee, but no Redline for Me.

So, you are supposed to need a squad with snipers, hackers, AV, and a tank to kill a tank, is that the design goal for vehicles?
Seems pretty fail to me.

That strawmanning and a poor attempt at it. All Tesfa suggest were that these were clever ways to put a tank out of position and off his/her guard not that these things were necessary.
Honestly if you struggle to take out an Armour tank these days you DO just suck at AVing..... Shields are a whole other can of beans that I hope Rattati addresses. Lord knows I've badgered him enough to fix them.

All Tesfa suggest were that these were clever ways to put a tank out of position and off his/her guard not that these things were necessary, although they do all help. Considering that turrets are rather tough to knock out these days hacking one at the enemy redline is a brilliant way to ensure that last shot connects. Honestly if you struggle to take out an Armour tank these days you DO just suck at AVing..... Shields are a whole other can of beans that I hope Rattati addresses.
