Invisible missiles?
Did anyone notice that we reduced the variant Rifle cost down to normal prototype ISK?
My favorite, the Square to take you to battle, I have so many times thought I was waiting for battle, later finding out I hadn't press "find" in Public Contracts
Sniper trails, I think I noticed them for longer in a few battles, but it's a very subtle effect

Yes, Invisible Missiles hit my Tank just two games ago. I was looking at the shooter but he was behind a little wall (you know how some of the buildings in this game have like a little barrier so you can't fall off but it is *just* high enough to see someone head) when suddenly damage indicators from him. After they hit, I heard the launch. I decided to run away because Mrs. Ridgeson didn't raise no fool; "don't play with invisible things that can kill you." I have also noticed that some missile launchers seem to only shoot two missiles, though damage is correct.
And, yes, I noticed that my Assault Rail Rifle (*kisses Lucile*) was much cheaper. Now just make a Standard variant and I will sing your praises atop the rooftops.

Random feedback:
- Missed a few items on the weapon ISK costs. Breach Assault Rifle, for instance (I still want standard variants >=C) - Active Scanners work for the team buuuut no Intel Kill Assist WP gain for it. Defeats the purpose, IMO. My Gal Logi is disappointed. - Want to know what this is all about - Gallente Assault still needs a lot of work to be viable in current meta. - New maps/sockets need higher prioritization. I've yet to see any of the new maps.

Yeah, invisible missiles are hard to spot. I don't use many variant rifles so I wouldn't have noticed, but that is an awesome change. Thanks for that. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the quick battle using square. I too have sat there for a good while not realizing I hadn't actually chose a battle. Sniper trails are still hard to see if you are the one they are shooting at and you're looking in thier direction. Now if I'm off to the side and the shot goes towards a blue or green then it is very noticeable for a good while. Point of view makes all the difference I guess? I've noticed the graphics seem more crisp as well, bravo sir, bravo. So far I'm loving 1.9. My hat is off to you and the rest who have made this possible.

Definitely like it, i can be a squad leader now. I always forget to be the squad leader, then my squadmates yell at me, now i only have to press square.
Do you mean swarm missiles, MCC missiles or tank missiles? I can see my own tank missiles, i can't see swarm instantly if swarmer is not rendered (ADS problem mostly). MCC missiles in fracture road fly too low. |

Square to Instant Battle is very convenient. I like convenient.
Didn't really notice the sniper trail changes so far. So, yeah, if you wanted to make the change really subtle, I think you succeeded.

I had no issues with missiles, rifles, matches whatever.
But the overall perfomance was horrible yesterday, inconsistent FPS (Gallente Facility was unplayable, jumping between 5-25FPS) an all maps, lag spikes. The hit detection is horrible, PRO scouts took no damage on clear hits.
The new medium socket's DOM Objective is in a very stupid place, the map forces the players in one corner, leaving the 90% of the map empty and boring.
The sell orders working fine.

There are no sniper trails in the game at all from what I've seen, and they were taking potshots at me in most of the matches I played today.
I haven't touched Square, fearing it would just queue me for everything, and I despise playing Ambush or Domination solo.
Could you please tell your GMs to forward you a support ticket I sent in a week and a half ago regarding a situation that led to a possible skewing of the sidearm event results? They've yet to even read it, judging from their silence, and due to you and Frame's involvement with managing the event I believe it would be beneficial for one or both of you to examine it as well. |

I know it's not going to stay, but the high SP payouts have allowed me to have some of the most fun I've ever had in pub matches. It's so much more enjoyable when everyone is bringing their best gear and going all-out. Get a good squad together and every match is like a mini PC.
Obviously, losing 3-5 proto fittings in a match and still gaining 2M isk shouldn't go on, but taking away some of the pressure of losing isk makes the games so much more entertaining. It just further shows that players are getting punished for making an effort, while being rewarded for not playing. When a significant amount of the risk is removed, you see a lot more action. I found myself actually excited that we were winning, rather than being pissed that I was losing loads of ISK in order to do so. It made players focus on winning, rather than giving up in order to protect their wallet.
The change to scanners and cloaks did absolutely NOTHING to help fix scouts, which should have been obvious. You just added more incentive to stack HP, while doing almost nothing to address their lack of reliable checks (and simultaneously taking away EVEN MORE incentive to use Assault/Logi suits). To fix scouts, the Assault suits need to be better. You can only take so much away from the scout suits before they start losing important tools. Instead, make the Assault something to be feared; give it higher reps, more firepower, or more fitting options. Scouts stop being a problem when there is something else that takes the appeal away. In some cases that can be done through a nerf, in this case it should be achieved by increasing the appeal of another option. If assault suits are scary, then scouts will need to hide, and stacking HP will no longer be a good option.
Other things: - Mass driver rounds look awesome - The new maps are excellent, I'm really liking both the new large socket and the 3-point skirm - The cloak "fix" did almost nothing, decloaking into a weapon is still near-instant - The new "moods" look cool, the fog changes the tactical options on some maps, which is a welcome addition - Get working on getting the balance hotfix back online |

Things have costs? I had completely forgotten due to my infinite funds
This instant battle button is very nice, but "Circle" still cancels battle instead of letting you back out of the menu when looking for contracts
Didn't notice contrails from either end of the rifles.
Loving the Nanite Injector change. So much rage from bad logi's that it almost makes up for my loss of fun in FW

Swarm missiles are rendering, better than previous. When I am hit blindly by swarms, they tend to render just before they make impact at 10 or so meters. Rattati would making swarm smoke trail more visible like the sniper rifle help swarm launcher users locations be a bit more visible without breaking it's use mechanics against dropships in your opinion?

here's random feedback/
- A lot of supply depots are still inacessable to tanks, such as border gulch
- Supply depot radius still unchanged for vehicles.
- The ledge where players glitch out uplinks is now directly above the new point A in fracture road. If anything IMO the map has gotten worse.
- On one of the new maps, the one with the total gas station and the underground hanger, the redline is right next to point C. As in under 100m.
- Ammar death station is bad ass. New moods are pretty cool; Reading the terribly rendered signs in the new sockets is wierd, better off removing it.
- Jara looks like a holographic "gentelmans" toy.
- Officer weapon sale payout is a lol 27k. My nanohives cost more than that. I did like clearing out the old useless stuff i dont use anymore.
Overall a "meh." Most of the things we enjoy the most are still busted, most of the broken things about this game still persist. I did not like having my profile changed to a scout suit though.

Haven't noticed any invisible swarms hitting my ADS.
Haven't noticed the price reduction until you mentioned it.
Square is convenient but I never use it out of habit for using the old way.
I've only noticed "sniper trails" that do not come from my rifle once; and that was pre 1.9.
How to balance cloaks.

- I definitely saw the new (longer duration) sniper trails. It saved my ass a few times as it allowed me to stay out of view after determining the origin... Very nice
- With the new needle changes it would be nice to have the "help requested" message visible until revive or timer expired. Right now it disappear after a few seconds, and I somethine forget if I pressed the button or not.
- I have seen the health bars still presented on downed mercs (empty shield + armour bars). Not sure if this is a bug or intentional?

Yes, unfortunately. It's not as bad as before, I think. Also enemies not rendering upon approach (in an ADS).
I did not, but this is an excellent change.
I did! And I love it.
I've mainly be using vehicles so I haven't noticed.

The only reason I knew the direction was because of the ragdoll.

Bummed to find out that my tank with two scanners wasn't picking up any WP for intel kill assists; would like to see WP given at regular value for squad-based scanning and maybe half value for team-wide scanning.
Will vehicles also be given the squad/team scanning options?

Sniper trails, I think I noticed them for longer in a few battles, but it's a very subtle effect
Any kind of armor reacting on my swarmies right away ergo no invisible missiles here

I got hot by invisible swarms yesterday (I assume that this was due to the really bad lag my squad was getting)
I love the ISK payouts! Please keep them!
There's still a big lag issue though - I was running round one of the new maps and it looked like mine craft-style graphics at one point. Everything was pixilated and I couldn't see any enemy properly. I ran straight past the entrance to the building because it just showed up as a black rectangle, not an open door.
My squad mate also had issues calling in tanks on the new maps - he was stood in the middle of an open area and it said the destination was unreachable. Another need then called one in that almost landed on his head. |

Lot of nice touches with this patch, most glaring issue I found is the lag for sure. Its weird though, If I spawn and am running around everything is nice, fast and smooth. When I actually run into other players tho, especially opponents, the framerate immediately siezes and drops into some choppy 10frames/sec or something. Like the extra activity is not being accounted for synchronously, and the server is having to stall to do it all and then display. So, when alone smooth, but in combat erratic as ever.

The rendering of infantry is still a high priority, it is tied to the Dropships ability to see so far when it flies high, that the rendering distance is reduced. When we increase that, framerate will likely suffer for pilots.

Yeah, I think you need to touch up the sniper trail just a bit, if we had a more pin-point damage direction indicator it wouldn't be a problem.
A sniper shouldn't be able to camp in the same spot the whole game, they need a chance of getting noticed, a good sniper should be changing location frequently.
Also maybe a more narrow view with the scope? Make it easier to sneak up on them so they just don't stay scoped sitting above a nano for 80% of the match and have to watch their back o.o That may be a bit far, I don't snipe so I can't say.

1. Well small increments would be useful but also is it tied to the vehicles speed? 1a. When i go fast infantry will render only when im on top of them but if im slower then they may show up earlier, problem is they see me anyways no matter what distance 1b. Possibly instead of rendering the actual infantry what about a short term solution like rendering the red arrow above them instead or is that tied to ewar? |

Reason for this is what CCP said "To give newer players an little edge against Veterans" & this i do agree with this. I'm a vet, i've played Dust since close beta & my friend recently played DUST before U1.9 & he told me
"it's very hard to succeed against veterans"
& i tell him
"I know, it's kinda hard for me as well as it's more of a stalemate fight when i go against them"
I mean DUST has to try and bring out a matchmaking feature to match players up by K/D, Score, Skill Points or something, because how can beginners enjoy the game without getting pulverized by Proto Vets???

Just to reiterate: The sprint bug is not fixed. On average, I die because of it at least once or twice a match. I play a low-HP, ewar focused scout and pretty much depend on hit-and-run tactics and evasive maneuvers. Being stuck at walking pace when I wanted to sprint is not fun, as I die in a small fraction of a second's fire from any weapon. |
