Aeon Amadi Fatal Absolution General Tso's Alliance 6637	Posted - 2014.10.09 02:30:00 - [1] - Quote Yesterday or the day before I had made a post here essentially stating that the mere mention of 'data' isn't quite as useful as providing the data itself; that I felt that whatever data CCP was looking at for balance should have been shared with the community so that we could draw our own conclusions on what we were looking at. Something that CCP Iceland (the Eve Online team) does rather frequently. And while I admit that I may have been a bit abrupt and stern (though in every way civil) with how I went about saying it, those posts (and dev/player responses as well) have since been deleted for some reason and I feel it's entirely unnecessary for something I find rather crucial to the Dev <-> Player communication. While those posts could have been considered to have been derailing the thread they were posted in, they could have very easily been moved or a warning could have been issued to stay on topic before their deletion. That being said, I brought that complaint and request to this thread, which I certainly hope won't be quite so short lived. But back on topic. Yes, more times than not the 'data' mentioned by CCP when referring to balancing issues does correlate with what the community thinks - however my primary skepticism is to what degree. That being said, this thread is being made both for discussion of a formal request for more transparency of the data being mentioned, that it be presented to the players in a way that can be easily understood, so that we can draw our own conclusions and provide our own feedback on said data. { \| bittervetmode = 1 I } == Description == This player has reached their breaking point [[Category: Angry]]

When something that might seemingly undermine them in some way but benefit the community, they silently snuff it out to silence contrary positions and troublesome facts. I've had this happen before. Someone with forum authority gets butthurt about a post and just deletes it rather than actually resolving the matter in question. Civility is not recognized here. Seems like ever since I've come back you've been stalking my threads and intentionally contradicting everything I've said for the sake of it. Sure, I admit it, my original post was a bit bitter and I could have handled it better. Was I 'holding someone hostage'? Not at all. I referenced instances in which data was mentioned, but not provided. I mentioned assumptions that were made that could have been construed differently if looked at in a different light - from a different angle. If that is considered 'hostage taking' and 'similar to bad cop behaviors accusing the criminal in question with intimidation' then we're really far gone from what the original point of all this was. This was never to make myself look like a hero - there's no point to that. It serves no purpose at all. Much like trying to villainize my efforts serves absolutely no purpose. It's a very simple request: More transparency, more information. It stands to benefit us all and I think getting bent out of shape over the semantics is childish. Oh and... This... If CCP doesn't like the method people choose to speak to them then maybe they should reconsider the methods they've made available to us to communicate to them in the first place. Or am I supposed to articulate every damn thing for CCP or there hurt little feelings can't handle my harsh and inconsiderate words, even if caused by them? No, there is a method of communication, it's these forums, and if you can post within those rules then CCP should listen - PERIOD. If they want to pick and choose who they listen to based on tone they'll never fix this game because it has the tendency to induce major rage.

For a company who made a game that revels in lying, cheating, backstab, espionage, and all sorts of meta game bs that bring out the worst in people - this seems a bit weird.

I would be pissed if a customer where i work kept on insisting on seeing my files on demand. I would just leave it at we are changing this x stat because of the following numbers a,b, and c because of the disparity caompared to the rest of d,e, and f. Thats fair, and the devs wont have to dig around for every file we demand. ts the evidence they already looked at , just typed up for us. We dont need the day to day stuff and are not entitles to it. Normally an in game death screen displays some of it and in many games all of it. We would like the data. As players subjected to @CCP Rattiti's Wild Ride in search of balance it would be helpful. Possibly even enlightening. The vehicle Nerf Hammers would have been clearer to all. But when I respond to their suggestions on how to use a vehicle the Mercs howl regarding my running away to not get killed. Yet CCP insists that the design of modules means I am supposed to run away to let the modules cool/recharge/whatever. Dust514 is the only game that I know of where infantry can ignore the majority of tanks. Weird. Maybe they don't have the data. That would explain a lot. As would not understanding said data. In New Eden no SP is wisely spent. CCP will Nerf the reason right out from under you.

I got banned for replying to a post wanting bugs to be fixed. I merely pointed the poster to publicly available interviews and links to same. In them CCP stated quite clearly that there is no further work for Dust514 as the devs were moved to Legion before fan fest. Also CCP stated that Dust514 was not a great game. All future work was limited to CCP Rattiti balancing the game via the server side database. Nearly a month later I was unbanned but my post was still deleted. Personally I find that IWS's attitude is worthy of a warning for moderation in prelude to a ban. But that is just me. In New Eden no SP is wisely spent.
