I was in a dom yesterday, sniping from [REDACTED] on Fracture Road, and I watched seven - SEVEN - redberries loose swarms on a Python simultaneously. The smoke trails from their missiles blotted out the sun. The Python crashed in the shade.
Delta just dropped, Swarms vs. ADS is the thing of the minute. After a few matches, I was indeed seeing a lot of new snipers trying the rifle. I literally took two guys off the same rooftop twice each, but I couldn't see their uplink from my vantage point, so when one of them came in a third time, I popped him again. I saw them in the killfeed with the STD rifle and the NT-511 respectively. Just like Swarms, a lot of people are trying it because it's newly buffed. They'll find that sniping isn't so easy and they'll go back to being regular infantry whining about snipers.
All these new swarmers will find themselves still ineffective alone without Wyrkomis on a Minmandong, and pilots will find that they're not facing 7 swarmers at once anymore and they'll still be largely immortal as they can still GTFO with near impunity, they just have to wait longer before coming back.

Aside from 4 people shooting AV at you or another tank you were invulnerable so please stop talking ****. I put down 12 proxies and watched a tank roll over them. So what did I do wrong? Also no one has a problem pushing you back to the redline cos you just sit in it. Oh yeah, you know me so well that I camp the redline every game with a railgun.
Also, 12 proxies? Didn't they have their damage increased? Let's go with their base of 750, because I don't have the game on. 750 x 12 = 9000 damage. I think I just shut that down right there. Don't forget, it's explosive, so it does increased damage against armor.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Really now? The third volley is guaranteed to hit, unless there's people on the ground to witness the first volley leaving to tell the pilot to GTFO. Swarms are still invisible at least half the time, you don't hear them approaching sometimes, and rendering is still abysmal, giving AV infantry a huge advantage.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Uhm, probably has more to do with you being a sh!tty tanker. I mean, you're the guy that's been getting killed by militia swarms since open beta; even after they where nerfed in damage and only could fire 2 volleys before having to reload, damage mods were nerfed, and tanks were buffed all in 1.7. You came on here complaining about getting killed by militia swarms.
Also loved how one sided your advise was. To paraphrase "If you AV guys want to be able to take out one guy in a tank you've got to use teamwork; the fact that the tanker doesn't have to use teamwork is completely irrelevant". Your whole arguement revolved around "it's a tank, one infantryman shouldn't be able to take it down even with weapons specifically designed to do that" which completely ignores the fact that a single infantryman has been able to take out tanks since WW2.

And with 3x Complex damage mods, I connected with three volleys from a Wyrkomi Swarm and failed to kill a Python. He DID stop harassing me, but he didn't die. This was also in a dom match where I was tower sniping. Same match, I downed an Incubus who had fled from another swarmer and had the bad luck to flee right into my range. I opened fire when he started hovering well away from the main fighting, presumably waiting out his AB cooldown, and his armor was not yet fully repped. Took two volleys, the first surprised him and the second he wasn't fast enough to flee from without the AB. Sucked to be him.

Irrelevant. Just because I don't have a ton of posts, or don't have a ton of likes, doesn't mean I haven't been watching.
In fact, I've been here, under one name or another, since beta.
But I'll tell you what, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, since I don't read every single post in every sub-forum. It is entirely possible that some idiot may have actually posted something that stupid, and I just missed it.
So prove it: provide a link, or stop arguing about crazy nonsense.
Again, I don't think there is a single person on here, AV OR pilot, that has SERIOUSLY claimed that a RIFLE should be a threat to a vehicle, and if they did, I completely agree that they are stupid.
Either way, just because ONE crazy idiot might have posted such nonsense, doesn't mean that all (or even ANY other) AV player is asking for that, so please stop claiming that they are. |

LOL, we both want the same thing: When my opponent shows up and takes a crack at me, I want to have just a tad enough fight-time (just a reasonable extra 20 seconds or so) to settle the dispute with one of us being killed, and to not have one of us required to FLEE; ThatGÇÖs what we got into shooting games for, to fantasy-KILL one of the gunfighters, not for one of us to shooo away or be shooo-ed. Both Vehicle AND AV players ought to be asking CCP to relent and give these GÇ£two infamous gunslinging enemiesGÇ¥ a tad more time to GÇ£do their street duelGÇ¥.
In the meantime, there IS still a GÇ£pilot stackingGÇ¥ exploit problem out there that I donGÇÖt THINK will be successfully addressed by this RoF change,... so...
Gabriella, I have no objection to seeing the RoF be returned to its former numbers. It actually should give ADS drivers more confidence to linger longer and get that last turret round to land right in the Swarm LauncherGÇÖs ear---- ---and a DS being tempted to linger longer will give the Swarm Launcher an opponent who can give him a better crack at a decisive kill. ... GÇ£Come-onnn, you know you WAANNIT. We both do!GÇ¥ LOL. Jeez, donGÇÖt we realize thereGÇÖs a potential gain here for BOTH enemies?

I fully agree with this. If someone has a proposal for this, that enables either the ADS or the AV to win, I am entirely for that. But most claims I've seen have been that the ADS should always be able to survive an encounter with an AV user and escape, and that isn't something I can agree with.

The funny thing is this thread was started on the Turret RoF for the dropship, and not anything else. As it stands, AV, HAV, and LAV's can engage dropships but dropships can not engage them back. Iron Wolf I would love to make a nice chart for this but I don't for CCP. And I do not mean this in a negative way. From what it looks like to me CCP just wants this game to stay around and will adjust things according despite it causing balancing issues. There will always be a, "Flavor of the Month," because their goal is just that. Every bit of feedback myself and many others have been giving is being over looked. Perhaps silence on what needs to be done for balance is the best answer.

No that isn't the only way, though it is the best efficient way without upsetting the other parameters that currently are around or doing major overhauls to the game as an entirety. CCP can fix this as Rattati stated. They can go in and change something not working in no time.

They did good. Ads pre delta were shooting with rails like from rifle. Missiles were also stream of rockets from python.
Atleast you can now scary, even destroy dropships with proper swarms.
