We need proto HAV's back or the removal of advanced & proto AV. As a tanker and AV player I know what im talking about as I have fully spec in swarm launchers & forge guns, I can destroy most tanks with 3 - 4 shots from my forge gun & take out Dropships within 10 - 20 seconds with proto swarm launchers. With my proto swarm launcher I cam lock on and fire twice before HAV or Dropship can react. HAV's & Dropships are too easy to destroy and are not worth ISK in my opinion.
P.S some must be done soon! |

Could've sworn I seen one or two topics saying AV was or at least swarms are needed now? In my Experiences with AV if it only takes one person to kill the vehicle then the pilot is terrible. To take out vehicles as easily as you say I find takes two players in co-ordination to take out a good or even a decent pilot since they can escape so easily due tona multitude of reasons.
If Preparation is half of the battle and knowing is the other half, Then there is no need to fight.

Even the best pilot cannot avoid losing to proper AV players who are working solo, unless the pilot hides in the redline. At best you can only delay the inevitable. And this is how it should be.

Considering you can basically fire all 3 volleys in less than 4seconds its quite easy to do
Espc if they are behind you, by time 1st hits the 2nd is in the air and the 3rd is about to be launched or you get the invisible missiles |

90 % of the problems in this game are user error I don't know about tankers but I have no problem keeping my ads up for a few games. When I take down a tank with my forge any more its mostly due to them not knowing what they are doing did you know that if i hit your gunnlogi with two proto fluxes while your parked on an objective trying to railsnipe people I can then one shot you with my forge

It takes 1FG to destroy any vehicle you got there. Because 1shoot = 2100vs armor and 1500vs shields with IAFG.
Only 2x hardened gunlogis stand a chance to drive away.

Suck it up cupcake, the forge gun I used to smash 6 tanks between you and your dumb buddy yesterday costs more than the hulls of your Somas.
Nevermind dropping your tanks when you know you are in my field of fire.
And heres why im successful at killing tanks. When they run I chase them down by any means necessary.

What everyone forgets is half the maps have naff all cover and the playable area is so small you can deny the whole map with 1 av guy in the redzone... Bring in 2 (which for some reason after all the "I'm always on my own and can't kill anything" topics, there always is) and anything moving out of the redzone is dead in seconds.
We need bigger maps if everyone wants to solo everything else, that way at least the av has to work on positioning themselves for effectiveness.
Yes I can stay alive and pick off a few people who aren't looking in pubs... But vs any real team, you might as well just run a dropsuit, because you're not helping the team in a vehicle... |

Used to take 4-6 shots to kill marauders.
Gunnlogi/madrugar took 3-4
Sica/soma took 1 shot. 2 if you were a fitting genius.
I think returning marauders would be fun. Something worth hunting. Something expensive to make tankers scream over losing. |

When I take down a tank with my forge any more its mostly due to them not knowing what they are doing did you know that if i hit your gunnlogi with two proto fluxes while your parked on an objective trying to railsnipe people I can then one shot you with my forge Lolz yeah compare an OP ADS to a tank.. Here's the difference ADS gets hit once it can fly and be out of range in a matter of seconds where as tanks gotta turtle their way back. That answers that part, no I don't think AV is OP I think not having proto tanks isn't right though.

Nerf swarms even more, and they will be useless against Dropships. I mean even more useless against them than they already are.
Honestly swarms are the least of a tankers worries, you should be most concerned about people putting REs on your ass. |

Played against saxonamish's ads this morning... Proto commando, proto swarms, double complex dam mods... Battled him specifically all round made over 2000 wp from dam but not one destruction. I was like he didn't even care I was shooting him. I think av is fine where it is.

ADS AV and Tank AV are two entirely different, rabid animals.
I cannot comment on the efficacy of swarms. I do not ever use them. Forge guns seem to be in a good place for AV overall (all snide commentary aside) but the only place where swarms seem to excel in dealing with an ADS is by hitting it and stripping shields allowing me to line up an easy killshot with the forge.
Swarms vs. Tanks? No honest clue. I generally don't watch swarms hit things. They are not relevant to my interests. But I do know LAVs with nitrous can outrun them, which is dumb. |

Oh yeah inb4 taunting about using the forge, range, yadda yadda.
My preferred engagement range dealing with tanks is inside 80m. It confuses the crap out of most of them and rails are about 1000 times less likely to successfully shoot me before I incinerate them.
Blaster tankers get impatient fast and tend to do stupid things trying to root you out.
There are, however, still tank drivers who are absolute turds about refusing to impale themselves on my righteous forge guns for my glory. If you are having survival issues in tanks hit them up.
And for gods sake dont call down a vehicle when you know you are in the field of view of a forge and in range.
If you call a tank in the spot where the AV gunner just killed your last tank you have just declared to us that christmas has come early and you are santa leaving warpoints under the tree just for us. |

Swarms are back to the old days of turning 90 degrees around a corner to still hit you. I think it was done to help with the precise maneuvering of ADS, but it seems to have taken a larger effect on tanks.
I am happy with AV so far. Playing solo forces you to think much more tactfully and has helped my positioning immensely. Swarms/forge combo on an ADS is unstoppable. Like you said, I'll follow the ship till swarms hit then smash it. Usually only takes one shot on most pythons, two shots on most incubus.

Vehicles aren't meant to be invincible. AV are a pain in the butt to pilots the same way that snipers and vehicles are a pain in the butt to infantry. Tanks mow down most infantry and stomp us if you get killed suck it up and try again or make note of where the AV are and try to pick them off with a railgun turret or a sniper (assuming you bothered putting points into anything that isn't as big as a house) and use cover. And unlike infantry you can harden your shields/armor and regen your shields insanely fast while we are stuck trying to take cover. |

Bottom line is trying to take on AV head on is a bad idea unless you kow exactly where they are and you know you will kill them before they can pull the trigger.
If you have neither, back off, recover and find a new attack angle
Watch for LAVs. Dedicated vehicle haters will hunt you in lavs and will CHASE you if you flee. Be ready for it. |

My opinion is that we shouldn't try and balance (nerf av) until we have proto tanks to see if it's actually OP or if we're correct about it being proto vs std shenanigans. I think swarms are fine other than reverting to going around corners again.

The only complaining I cared about was the screaming on the forums whenever I solo'd some tryhard's 2.5 million ISK Sagaris or Surya with an IAFG. |
