Bear in mind my friend of the one cardinal rule of RP......
"You character is not special...... "
It was probably one of the hardest hurdles for me to get past. You have to remember that everyone else in this RP is also a highly trained mercenary who is equal to or more skilled that you, and treat their RP and actions as such. Once you do your characters actions become more meaningful as they also become more difficult and impressive.
E.G- I certainly don't want to get in a fist fight with Galm, lore wise True is a sub par hand to hand fighter, and Galm is a hardcore thug and a half. However additionally being a Commando means I could punch a hole in a clones chest no matter my skill level if I could land a hit.....but I also know Galm is a Commando as well. He hands down has me in close combat..... however I don't think anyone here has the edge over me vehicle wise..... (he says arrogantly)

I think you misinterpreted my tone.
It's not accusatory or condemning. It's just a suggestion that I thought would help you perhaps find you mesh in point. I have done quite a bit of RPing throughout a number of forms and it becomes very difficult to RP consistently with individuals who make their characters without flaw.
For example I used to RP on Dark Souls with a group of players. We had one player who suggested, and quite logically given the setting that he could choose to exist in different times using a Soap Stone, it got beyond difficult to interact with him when he started existing far into the future, used it to evade any misfortune, and used overly cliched lines.
I certainly know that about 8 months ago I tried to shape Kador from that kind of character into a more human one.
All I am suggesting is that you attempt to find a moderate balance between your chosen style and impression of your own character and what is fitting and realistic within the given setting. A cloned mercenary, this being anyone's cloned mercenary, even mine, is just a soldier, and when fighting other cloned mercenaries any talent he might have over X other persons are somewhat mitigated.
I also sent you the recruitment interview post days ago. Are you not able to see if for some reason? It says on the forums that you have not read it.

Thats fine, you can go ahead and write up a post about him being stationed where he is, what he is doing or thinking.
Also the advice that True is giving is spot on. It is far more interesting and fun to rp a character with flaws. Also remember that a character can only act on the information that they have available to them. True's example is a fantastic example of a person god modding to avoid anything negative from befalling their character. |

Ugh and that character was insufferable.
Magic Arrows......Souls Seeking Arrows Temporal Shifts OOC knowledge from Time Warps No Limits to Space Time Warping Power Tried to tell me he killed my character..... you don't kill dead people....they're already dead. Tried to tell my User Covenant that we didnt know how to Gravelord...... we widely established amongst the entire community the correct way to do it as it was considered broken.....
Etc, Etc, Etc
It's the same advice I gave all the peeps at the start of Bloodhunt. Our characters appear more impressive when the nature of their struggles is harsh and difficult.
I mean in Bloodhunt I think True killed maybe 8 people tops and got a knife in the guts and was lit on fire....... costing him two clones. I had more deaths planned before enthusiam fizzled out.

alright so I saw that you posted on this thread Crownrule. This thread is considered OOC (out of character) it is where we can discuss what is going on and what we may be planning. All posts that are IC (in character will go in the IC thread linked here. This is where you post your characters actions. Here you can also read what the others have written. Nice job on getting your first post up though. If you are unsure of anything feel free to ask there are a few of us here who have experience. |

A good way to make your character more flawed and believable, especially in combat are dice rolls. Me and Kador did that during Bloodhunt, and I enjoyed the heck out of writing what came out of those dice rolls. We are all mercenaries and basically freelancers, there isn't exactly a standard doctrine on how a duster should operate under combat, so we see hugely varied styles, dice rolls are perfect for that kind of thing.
Sure, it may not be that exciting when you got a bad roll and ended up killing yourself and accomplishing nothing, but you can't imagine how enjoyable it was when I could write in detail how Denak charged at a group of three tanks while being under constant fire from a small squad of soldiers with a near suicidal rage, barely surviving a headshot and crawling into Kador's tank after the hostile tanks were destroyed. And afterwards our tank crashed and we both barely survived. All this was a result of dice rolls, and I enjoyed it greatly.
Speaking of if, I really wish Blood Hunt would have been finished, I liked it a lot.

And I enjoyed reading it. Technically one of you that were involved could finish it. It started before I got here and I had no role in it, but I would like to see it brought to a conclusion.

How about this
The pair lifted the weapon into the cart A great terrifying work of art They didn't know where to start Though each one played there part They couldn't do it without the heart It was so complex they needed a PI chart |

Since there is a relatively few amount of mercenaries to invade a heavily armed Amarr stronghold, I vote that we justify it by saying that there were originally suppose to be at least four others but they all went down in atmosphere. This leaves only Galm, Hawkeye, and anyone else on the strike team to 'pick up the ball' on this job and make due with the troops and clone reserves that have. It leaves a really cool 'behind enemy lines' feel.
Also...
I can't be the only one thinking of this whenever I read anything about the sandstorm.

That works out fine. There is still a good number of regular soldiers that dropped to keep pressure on the defending team. I think at the moment you and Hawk are the only two immortals that are PC's on the attacking team. Be warned because of where you dropped you may end up running into both the resistance group and the Amarr military forces. Because you are not technically affiliated with either side as a mercenary they will most likely be hostile towards you. |
