All right here we go again.
I would like to create an RP story revolving around a small team (4-6 participants) taking on a mission. It will be run in similar fashion to the previous event being semi DMGÇÖd. For clarification this means that I will at times be providing you with a situation or choice and depending on how that choice is handled will change the events taking place.
While I am open to allowing inexperienced individuals to participate (first time for everything) there are some standards that must be met. Please refrain from posts that are only a few lines long. They are difficult to respond to and very rarely contribute anything substantial to the story. It is assumed that you are capable of writing at a level that others involved can comprehend what you are saying or doing. Perfect grammar is not required but please at least run spell check. Also under no circumstances (unless given permission) are you to control the actions of another playerGÇÖs character for obvious reasons. This rule will change if the character becomes inactive and most be controlled to move the story forward.
CS Name: Gender: Race: Appearance: What they look like, and also if dropsuit is customized in appearance. Role: This includes battlefield role and suit class, load out can be placed here as well. Other: Any other relevant information on character
So this is the Character Sheet (CS) and it is pretty self-explanatory. Fill it out. I do ask that you do not create any Mary Sue type characters. A bio is not required as that is something that can come out during the RP.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Glad to have both of you, and here is some more information on the plot.
The basic premise will be the recovery/abduction of a high value individual. Two contracts will be issued, one for the abduction of the individual, and another for the protection of the same individual. This opens up the possibility for Mercs to be on opposite sides. In the opening post I will provide more information on both contracts and it will be up to you to decide which side you stand on.
If anyone has any questions ask away. |

All right so the individual in question is a scientist working for the Carthum Conglomerate. The nature of their research revolves around weapons and biotech. They are currently stationed on a terraformed planet in low-sec space conducting live tests on a small uprising taking place on the planet. Recent chatter has indicated that another corporation may be attempting to acquire the scientist due to their current remote location. |

I approve.
...
Also, Jester: Will you be acting in a similar capacity to the previous RP (Player and GM), or will you solely be a GM?
I haven't quite decided yet if I will act as a player in this one. I am leaning towards yes at the moment but we will see how many decide to participate. |

Good to have you Galm, and welcome Captain.
The opposing sides provides us with some interesting possibilities and interactions. It does also pose some potential problems RP wise but we will deal with that if problems should arise.
Captain you have the freedom to choose whichever side you want. |

I'm starting to suspect that we might have to collectively commit to only the security team for the sake of fairness and our own sanity. I don't want to have Galm's air assault get ripped to pieces before I even have time to post. I'm perfectly willing to have True die in many horrible ways. I had him gutted last fight, then burnt alive, then was lining him up for having his spine shattered....... You can tell I'm not a nice dude to Kador and that I'll drop the pretext of his bravado for a good, gritty, grimdark plot.
I think at the moment the division is right down the middle, correct me if i'm wrong. I will not allow a character to do something as ridiculous as you suggested. Characters can only act upon information that is available to them. Anything discussed in the OOC or on the other side of the IC is not available knowledge to players on the other side.
Good to know True because I'm pretty sure that plenty of dramatic explosiony deaths will be had. |

IC
ok first post is up. I would like to get this one into the action faster than the other one to avoid obvious issues. So those on the attacking side can start already loaded into the drop pods ready for the descent. Those on the defending side will start out inside the facility already having been there for a week. So please wet up your posts accordingly.
If you have questions ask them, also use the OOC to discuss the mission as well. |

That is fantastic True and sets the scene nicely. Also I will be RP'ing the Dr. for similar reasons you stated.
As far as the Doctor goes she is a headstrong scientist that is demanding of both those she works with and who protect her. Her demanding and critical nature has put her at odds with many people. While she is a follower of the Amarr teachings she is a supporter of the use of cloning tech. |

Its as simple as creating a character on the forums here for the purposes of adequately RPing her....though im sure you know that. Too be fair I too am a supporter of cloning tech too.
Just made a character for her on the forums so that will make things go more smoothly.
Captain:
True has simply set the scene for the defenders. Giving an overview and story to the situation you find yourselves in. Your job is not to engage in direct contact with the rebels but to protect your assigned target. |

Thats fine, you can go ahead and write up a post about him being stationed where he is, what he is doing or thinking.
Also the advice that True is giving is spot on. It is far more interesting and fun to rp a character with flaws. Also remember that a character can only act on the information that they have available to them. True's example is a fantastic example of a person god modding to avoid anything negative from befalling their character. |

alright so I saw that you posted on this thread Crownrule. This thread is considered OOC (out of character) it is where we can discuss what is going on and what we may be planning. All posts that are IC (in character will go in the IC thread linked here. This is where you post your characters actions. Here you can also read what the others have written. Nice job on getting your first post up though. If you are unsure of anything feel free to ask there are a few of us here who have experience. |

True's example is a fantastic example of a person god modding to avoid anything negative from befalling their character. Ugh and that character was insufferable. Magic Arrows......Souls Seeking Arrows Temporal Shifts OOC knowledge from Time Warps No Limits to Space Time Warping Power Tried to tell me he killed my character..... you don't kill dead people....they're already dead. Tried to tell my User Covenant that we didnt know how to Gravelord...... we widely established amongst the entire community the correct way to do it as it was considered broken..... Etc, Etc, Etc It's the same advice I gave all the peeps at the start of Bloodhunt. Our characters appear more impressive when the nature of their struggles is harsh and difficult. I mean in Bloodhunt I think True killed maybe 8 people tops and got a knife in the guts and was lit on fire....... costing him two clones. I had more deaths planned before enthusiam fizzled out. A good way to make your character more flawed and believable, especially in combat are dice rolls. Me and Kador did that during Bloodhunt, and I enjoyed the heck out of writing what came out of those dice rolls. We are all mercenaries and basically freelancers, there isn't exactly a standard doctrine on how a duster should operate under combat, so we see hugely varied styles, dice rolls are perfect for that kind of thing. Sure, it may not be that exciting when you got a bad roll and ended up killing yourself and accomplishing nothing, but you can't imagine how enjoyable it was when I could write in detail how Denak charged at a group of three tanks while being under constant fire from a small squad of soldiers with a near suicidal rage, barely surviving a headshot and crawling into Kador's tank after the hostile tanks were destroyed. And afterwards our tank crashed and we both barely survived. All this was a result of dice rolls, and I enjoyed it greatly. Speaking of if, I really wish Blood Hunt would have been finished, I liked it a lot.
And I enjoyed reading it. Technically one of you that were involved could finish it. It started before I got here and I had no role in it, but I would like to see it brought to a conclusion.

That's to bad, there were a lot of people involved in it too. |

Galm Fae wrote:Since there is a relatively few amount of mercenaries to invade a heavily armed Amarr stronghold, I vote that we justify it by saying that there were originally suppose to be at least four others but they all went down in atmosphere. This leaves only Galm, Hawkeye, and anyone else on the strike team to 'pick up the ball' on this job and make due with the troops and clone reserves that have. It leaves a really cool 'behind enemy lines' feel. Also... I can't be the only one thinking of this whenever I read anything about the sandstorm.
That works out fine. There is still a good number of regular soldiers that dropped to keep pressure on the defending team. I think at the moment you and Hawk are the only two immortals that are PC's on the attacking team. Be warned because of where you dropped you may end up running into both the resistance group and the Amarr military forces. Because you are not technically affiliated with either side as a mercenary they will most likely be hostile towards you. |

Also Galm just so you know how you choose to react to my post will have just as big a part to play in the story as the dice rolls. The dice just add in a bit of unlredictability. Although there is a rough idea in my head about some events may happen there is no conclusion. The story will be evolving as we progress. |

Yeah...Sorry about that everyone. Classes and clinicals started for me. Those along with work have taken the majority of my time. It will probably take me about a week or so to fully organize my schedule. I do apologize for pretty much allowing this RP to become as inactive as it was, and I take full responsibility for that. I saw that you were talking of ending the RP as quickly as possible. I have no problem with this as long as the others involved are ok with that.
If someone else would like to start an RP of their own then I encourage them to do so. I would be more than willing to join an RP run by another person. |

If it's all the same, I was deeply hoping I could be the one to host the next one. I already have an idea and a working keyboard, and all the time in the world to dedicate to GMing.
Both of you can run them at the same time, nothing really stopping you. Although the player base is limited at the moment. If we could get two successful RP's running at the same time it would be a positive thing. |
