True Adamance wrote:Clockwork Jester wrote:Also the advice that True is giving is spot on. It is far more interesting and fun to rp a character with flaws. Also remember that a character can only act on the information that they have available to them. True's example is a fantastic example of a person god modding to avoid anything negative from befalling their character. Ugh and that character was insufferable. Magic Arrows......Souls Seeking Arrows Temporal Shifts OOC knowledge from Time Warps No Limits to Space Time Warping Power Tried to tell me he killed my character..... you don't kill dead people....they're already dead. Tried to tell my User Covenant that we didnt know how to Gravelord...... we widely established amongst the entire community the correct way to do it as it was considered broken..... Etc, Etc, Etc It's the same advice I gave all the peeps at the start of Bloodhunt. Our characters appear more impressive when the nature of their struggles is harsh and difficult. I mean in Bloodhunt I think True killed maybe 8 people tops and got a knife in the guts and was lit on fire....... costing him two clones. I had more deaths planned before enthusiam fizzled out. A good way to make your character more flawed and believable, especially in combat are dice rolls. Me and Kador did that during Bloodhunt, and I enjoyed the heck out of writing what came out of those dice rolls. We are all mercenaries and basically freelancers, there isn't exactly a standard doctrine on how a duster should operate under combat, so we see hugely varied styles, dice rolls are perfect for that kind of thing.
Sure, it may not be that exciting when you got a bad roll and ended up killing yourself and accomplishing nothing, but you can't imagine how enjoyable it was when I could write in detail how Denak charged at a group of three tanks while being under constant fire from a small squad of soldiers with a near suicidal rage, barely surviving a headshot and crawling into Kador's tank after the hostile tanks were destroyed. And afterwards our tank crashed and we both barely survived. All this was a result of dice rolls, and I enjoyed it greatly.
Speaking of if, I really wish Blood Hunt would have been finished, I liked it a lot.

Clockwork Jester wrote:And I enjoyed reading it. Technically one of you that were involved could finish it. It started before I got here and I had no role in it, but I would like to see it brought to a conclusion. Sadly less than half the people involved in it are still around and active, and the thread has been auto-locked already. There really isn't a way to get it finished anymore.

Sorry to break sort of off topic on this thread, but I don't really have other means to contact Kador reliably.
So, any ETA on that post for the PIE offices? It's been two weeks since you said you'd get it done, just curious if you've had any progress.
Again sorry for breaking off topic, this'll be the only one.

Mock no Mass Effect Romances. Thus far Bioware has done to only decent attempt at the inclusion of romance sub plots in video games. Since when did a thread discussing the plot and functions of a collaborative story thread turn into sex in the Mass Effect trilogy?

Mass Effect is just a significantly better game and I feel it necessary to remind everyone how bad a game Dust 514 really is. Bittervet to the max then, I see.
