i think the problem stems from a good player in a invisible damp scout suit is kind of OP. no one is complaining about cloaked scrub scouts. but i know the day i seen lightning in a pub when the cloak first came out i said to myself this will be a scary FOTM a good slayer thats invisible.

Now, OH played a good game but I'm curious to know if this is what CCP envisioned? Is it ok that players are invisible longer than they are visible and in a competitive match? Only popping out just to OHK you?

If this isn't evidence that the cloak needs to have the same cooldown mechanic as every other module (with a cooldown) in the game, then there is nothing else you can do.

This isn't a dig at the player that's abusing the mechanic either.....this is a dig at cloaking in dust and how crazy it is.

LOL You mad? But seriously. Don't blame your loss on the cloak. It's a ****** game mechanic that wasn't well thought out. It needs to have a delay in the decloak so that the player doesn't just shoot and you have no idea where it came from. I'm sick of that as well. There is no counter to a guy with a cloak and 3 profile dampeners. In EVE there are always counters, but in DUST there are just ... well none. You need a cloaking delay before you can perform a task like shooting. Something like a 3 second delay. These guys that can get in shoot then cloak back up before you even know what happened... well that's just not fun at all.

But yeah. I'm only saying that because I agree cloak is broken. OH would have murdered your corp regardless of cloak so don't complain about that.

I usually agree with you, but in this case, I think the cloak worked fine.

Also, he didn't get non-stop OHK, and he died more often than not. Literally, nearly half of his engagements got him killed. So it's not like the operation of the cloak makes someone invincible.

I don't think anyone would run anything but cloaks if this happened. Hell, I'd even put one on my Commmando.

Either OP or useless. I want equilibrium.

I want a PC world where you won't be trumped by another player because "Their suit is simply better". A place where a good scout has equal standing with a good logi, heavy, assault, or commando.

A place where your skill with the suit is more important than just "Well scanning/HMG/shotgun+cloak/etc is just OP, so it won't hurt to bring you on" and then passing up the Amarr/Min Scout who is very good at his job.

It is my dream to see this game at that stage.
