I know it's safer to use them since we know sp will transfer to legion but I was hoping to sell them on the market. Also what are your ideas on isk carrying over? Any and all theories are welcome. |

There's allegedly an SP event coming up, save them for that.
There is not likely to be a player market introduced any more.

Its your call. Again, they have no idea what, if anything at all will be transferred to legion. So your booster may or may not. Your sp may or may not.
Eith CCPs track record It's safer to assume that absolutely nothing will transfer over and they give you random "bonus goods" for participating in beta (dust). |

The thing is, we just don't know what will happen between now and then, when Legion is on PC. The whole SP gain scheme could be changed. They can just decide to not allow usage of Omega Boosters for Legion. That's just basically it, we just don't know. So its up to you what you want to do.

Why do people keep saying that things will transfer over.
A) There is no official statement from Leadership at CCP about transferring anything
B) CCP will not jeopardize their profits for the sake of a few former Dust players getting a head start
C) Use them and enjoy the game and stop posting nonsense on the forums about things that won't happen. They will not transfer anything. They only stated that it is theoretically possible in so many words. Stop making people think they will transfer anything at all
Enjoy the game as is and think of legion as a separate game. use the boosters and progress until the end. Don't let them goto waste.
Personally, I have a very strong theory that the player base will reduce to a point where the game will be unplayable. This will happen before the end of the year. Go for broke.

hey rug, long time no see. you still play dust? I would save the booster for the event coming in the next few days. save up the SP, and if you are going to legion maybe it will transfer over, or spend it on all the things you never got to play with.
PS, thanks for showing me the ropes when I first started over a year ago, probably wouldn't be playing if it wasn't for you, Boots size20, and Rhuvian

CCP Rouge is the one who called it a different game.
Items might not be the same, so those won't transfer.
Legion itself is a protype that has not been "green lit' yet.
You keep talking as if a lot of things have been decided that haven't.
All they have said is that they will try their best to transfer as much as they can over, that could mean a great deal of things, it could mean very few.
Don't get so optimistic that you start putting words into CCPs mouths.

Look, your optimisms is refreshing but at the end of the day I live in reality. CCP is failing and their jobs are on the line...literally. They just sold Valkyrie to Riot Games for no reason. If they had half a brain they would be able to develop it and make more money the first year it was out then what they sold it for. They Cancelled WoD for no reason. They could have crowd sourced from 10's of thousands of people that would have happily donated 10 bucks to see it get done.
CCP will need you to spend money on micro transactions in order for them to keep a free to play game, Legion, a competitive game in the industry. Giving you free stuff will undermine any ability early on for them to do this. I assure you, they are going to start everyone off from scratch on a new system. They are in rapid desperation for money and it is 100% obvious that this is the case.
I want you to ask yourself right now. How many people will play Legion tomorrow if it was released tomorrow? The answer is, a percentage of Dust players and whoever they are able to tap into through the median they distribute the game. If it gets released on Steam then their player base will be quite high right? If they release it like they do Eve, the player base will be "some percentage of current Dust players and Eve Players". That small number of players must keep the game afloat and the only way to do that is micro transactions and/or monthly billing of $X OR some combination.
You have to understand they want to make money. Transferring people's stuff over is not going to increase or decrease the number of players that come from Dust and make those same players commit to micro transactions. They will likely start people off with some things like in game currency or in game items but in no way are you going to have a significant head start over a brand new Legion Player that never played dust. They NEED people to make micro transactions
All of that being said, I have a very strong feeling that CCP will be bankrupt before Legion is even out. The stakeholders who invest and run CCP don't have the ability to run the company correctly and do not care about you. They don't care about me or what the Dust community want. The devs care because if we aren't happy then we don't play the game and don't spend money AND finally, they don't have a job. Of course they want us to be happy. I bet you a reasonable number of them work massive overtime and are highly underpaid in order to keep us playing Dust and to help make whatever the hell else CCP Leadership wants.
Anyway, that's all. Believe what you want, IDC. At the end of the day I'm sick of doing pick up squads with some idiot saying that "CCP said they will transfer our stuff".

I have never read a post on this forum I agree with more. Well said.
Sadly I believe this to be true. I hope I am wrong.
But since May 2, I have never believed for a second anything from DUST would ever transfer to Legion, if it ever comes to fruition to begin with. The character transfer would make absolutely no economic sense from a business perspective.
Riddle me this: How many active DUST players are there? ACTIVE? I'll be generous and say 4000. If CCP alienated every one of them and none took up Legion would it matter? If 4000 makes or breaks your game it was doomed anyway.
Our community is too small thus we have no voice. It's about money as is all aspects of the world we live in. I'm not even really that upset about it.

4000 active players isn't generous at all considering just a few moments ago there were 4,342 players playing Dust at the same time. And that is just the same time, not all ACTIVE Dust players are logged in every single second of the day.

It had nothing to do with my post, as you can clearly read each time you look, and then again after quoting.
I have a question for you however. What makes you think boosters will transfer to a game where they are considering changing the current SP system to something else? |

The problem here OP, is that you ARE going by that post. That post was made immediately after fanfest.
On the forums more people asked for more clarification. CCP rogue or Saberwing (don't remember who) responded to more then one post saying they actually don't know exactly what will transfer over due to possible legal issues with Sony, and how they are going to change the game In Legion, but to be rest assured because "we want to give you guys something to show your investment wasn't wasted".
They also reiterated the fact that transferring SP, assets and ISK is an unknown factor currently because "we dont want to disrupt the quality of the NPE".
They are literally betting on people who don't frequent the forums like yourself, and hoping you truly believe EVERYTHING will transfer so you continue to spend money.
As you've been told already by more then one person, this Is not the case. CCP has made no definitive claims on what exactly will or will not transfer over.
Edit - and by immediately after fanfest, I of course mean the what...2 weeks it took to respond? Take all this however you want to OP. |

His point still stands.
4k players are a pittance for an FPS. Hence why the match making and NPE blows.
Dust was one of the most downloaded games on PSN, CCP should be lucky they still have 4k.
Hell, terraria on steam had 15k players Today, and you can experience everything that game has to offer in a single day. |

No problem, and sorry if i sounded like a prick on my first response to your quote. I realized after that you were going by the basic lie that was Rogues announcement stickied at the top of the page, which explained it all.
To be honest you could actually try to get a refund. Many people so far have been given one up to the last 3 months (3 months at most is Sony's end game when it comes to digital refunds).
It's what I did (but this was at the start of the whole fiasco, as a veteran and player of EVE online I'm well aware of CCP's track record so I could see this coming a mile away) and others. They could still allow it. |

You know there's a website that shows active players...i assume you know this because you are quoting 4,342 active players. That's active players online. Not overall. Active.
If games, like say team fortress 2, have an active player count of 15k...that's triple dusts. Do you know how old team fortress 2 is? Are you aware the biggest game breaking change that game implemented was the purchase and ability to wear hats?
Active player count shows the livelihood of a game. Dust is living in poverty.
Edit - I m sorry, I mixed terrarias active player count with TF2. TF2 has 50k active players today. I assume I don't need to point out what the disparity between the two numbers mean. |

Well Rug I'd probably go ahead and get whatever use I could out of them. Who knows for sure if we will be able to use them in Legion, or even if we can how far into the future before that actually happens.
But then you'd have to play the game, which is something extremely hard to do. I find myself with such little interest after the fanfest debacle. |

Sigh, do you think that site actually shows the active players in Dust? Really? To be clear, there are three population values we can look at:
Total players Active players Online players
Total players is the total number of people who ever played Dust. Active players are the players who played a few matches over the past couple days or so. Online players are the number of players currently online at a specific moment in time. The site you mentioned only tracks currently online players. You seem to be confusing online players for active players, which is incorrect obviously.
When it comes to discussing how large your player base is, you use the number of active players as those are the people who still regularly play the game.
Amarr are the good guys.

But then you'd have to play the game, which is something extremely hard to do. I find myself with such little interest after the fanfest debacle. I know man I tried to play the other day and just couldnt do it. I know it's dumb to hold out hope that isk and gear will carry over to legion but its hard to let go of all that time grinding. Dust could have been so great. Maybe legion will be but i'm gonna try and keep my expectations low. |

Also what are your ideas on isk carrying over? Any and all theories are welcome. Why do people keep saying that things will transfer over. A) There is no official statement from Leadership at CCP about transferring anything B) CCP will not jeopardize their profits for the sake of a few former Dust players getting a head start C) Use them and enjoy the game and stop posting nonsense on the forums about things that won't happen. They will not transfer anything. They only stated that it is theoretically possible in so many words. Stop making people think they will transfer anything at all Enjoy the game as is and think of legion as a separate game. use the boosters and progress until the end. Don't let them goto waste. Personally, I have a very strong theory that the player base will reduce to a point where the game will be unplayable. This will happen before the end of the year. Go for broke. So your saying the whole Q&A by Rogue was basicly bs? Im not saying your wrong I just want more of an explanation than "no". Sure legion is gonna be on pc with a different name but I don't think calling it a differnt game is entirely fair either. And as I already said in the post above, they are looking into changing the entire SP system to something completely different. Which means your booster would be null and void. The gist of it all is this "we dont know what will transfer over, but please keep spending money because anything is possible." It's sad, but true. Thanks for giving me a straightforward anwser instead of calling me an idiot for not scouring the forums of a dieing game and keepig up with ccps financial situation. Quess i'll just have to wait and hope for the best.
For the record, researching is YOUR responsibility. Asking people to do the research for you and explain things so you understand it is 100% a "mooch" way of gaining information. I pride myself in researching anything and everything that interests me. Yes, On rare occasions I will ask a question that could have been answered if I googled it really quick. The rest of the time I find the information on my own. In the process, I learn additional pieces of information and thus form new curiosities. If you think I called you an idiot then fine. I'm not taking it back. But I specifically referenced "pick up squad" because those guys don't post yet read statements like yours and think the wrong thing. You help misinform people with statements that are untrue as far as I am concerned. I am very fed up with it. It ruins the game for me. And I will express this frustration every chance I get.
