But that didn't happen, either because CCP was really shortsighted how their customers would react to this news or they really didn't care what the customers thought. No, the DUST community is not the worst nor is EVE. The outrage over how DUST fans were treated at FanFest this year by the company that makes the bloody game is equally as justified as Monoclegate and the Incarna **-storm. It is that simple. Edit: even if "EVE: Legion is what we all asked for" it is still bullshit. "Buy the red car if you want to go off-roading." So we buy the red car. Now it is "buy the blue car if you want to go off-roading; we will continue to develop for red car."

Dust is the 180 but not that either. If you're saying Dust 514 is nothing more than a cheap app game, then what you're also not denying is that CCP can't even make a game that functions as smoothly as Angry Birds. You sir have failed your white-knighting.... And complaining about the playerbase of Dust is likened to this: "we at CCP cannot make a game that gets core mechanics correct and we understand that the idea of an mmo-FPS is not always welcomed by console players so we'll opt to cut a majority of our playerbase who disagrees with us and make a game for a select fewer because all game companies strive to please the minority instead of working to find equilibrium with the masses". That's really the point console gamers are making; they could have done a lot different with Dust and rather than see what they can do to fix a situation they will prefer to scrap it all and start over again. The one things about experienced developers is that they learn from their mistakes and try not to repeat it. It would make more sense from both a financial standpoint and a technical standpoint to see what they can get right/wrong with Dust before they assume they have it all figured out and start over. They haven't really proved they can make this FPS-mmo work the way they intended so the solution is to start from scratch? It doesn't take a game planner to look at that last sentence and do a facepalm at what it entails...unless you work at CCP!

CCP made an open-world MMO on the PC once before. It's called EVE and it was a great success. I am expecting them to replicate that success.

It's a partial refund and Sony isn't giving you back their cut.
