You see, here is the problem: EVE: Legion presentation
You know, I could have sworn they told me to tune into Twitch (paid 20 bucks too) to hear about DUST 514 rather than a completely different product. Remember, Legion is NOT DUST 514 on the PC; it is a different product. Looking at it as "mommy loves me more!" or "PC > console" is frankly ********. Imagine how EVE players would react if all of the EVE development team, for half the time that EVE has been officially launched, were working on the EVE board games and "development for EVE online would continue but be slowed." There would be as much outrage over that as there is now for Legion.
Were you around for Incarna? This is the same thing; CCP's total lack of openness and respect for their customers. They could have done the release of Legion in a way that didn't **** everyone off (have the DUST 514 keynote be only about DUST 514 and have Legion mentioned as a "DUST 514 is coming to PC" rather than it being a completely different product. But that didn't happen, either because CCP was really shortsighted how their customers would react to this news or they really didn't care what the customers thought.
No, the DUST community is not the worst nor is EVE. The outrage over how DUST fans were treated at FanFest this year by the company that makes the bloody game is equally as justified as Monoclegate and the Incarna ****-storm.
It is that simple.
Edit: even if "EVE: Legion is what we all asked for" it is still bullshit. "Buy the red car if you want to go off-roading." So we buy the red car. Now it is "buy the blue car if you want to go off-roading; we will continue to develop for red car."

Of the points that I make, the one that is regards to CCP stating in their dev blog "DUST 514 and Project Legion will function independently of one another, and are different projects on different development paths" is the one you want to bring up in regards to "look how it looks?" This seems off to me.
I can show you the EVE board game I have (seriously, do not buy: the rules make no sense and even customer support can't decide what the hell it means) and "look at the artwork; that's totally EVE." It doesn't change the fact that it is a different product on a different system and, if the statements of it being worked on for the past 6 months is true, has had more development as a replacement for DUST 514 than DUST 514 actually has been developed as a game itself. Would you say that EVE hast the "Worst Playerbase Of The Year" is that happened? Maybe we can go back to 2011 and give that reward to EVE for the completely justified outrage over Incarna.
You should not blame the playerbase for being angry with the developers when the developers do something in their own best interest with complete disregard and disrespect for the players.

Samael Artico wrote: Clearly. I mean, why else would I lambaste a community that is quite plainly overreacting? Please provide an argument of this. Here is the argument that dissenters have with CCP:
"CCP told me 'buy the red car if you want to go off-roading.' After I bought the red car, it still clearly needed work so I waited for it to be able to go off-roading. Now, during an entire presentation about red cars and off-roading they state 'buy the blue car if you want to go off-roading; we will continue to develop for red car but in a diminished capacity.' This shows a lack of respect from CCP."
What is the argument for our overreaction? How is the above statement fundamentally flawed?
