its not that. people are raging because they put time and money into a game based on promises that were given to them just to find out that game they were promised is being developed on a different platform and they possibly wasted there times and money because character data may not be transferred.
all around it was just a bad choice of timing they should have postponed the announcement of Project Legion till they were certain and had a clear means of explaining things. |

lol, they are gonna make another half baked game ("another" even - as it's just Dust running on high settings as per the demonstrated footage) as would be expected coming from a Chinese game developer. Anyone ever heard of a good Chinese video game? Nothing comes to mind - China is lagging behind in this segment. You get what you pay for when it comes to outsourcing in the video game market.

I came to DUST, last summer, as a fairly experienced EVE player. What happened at Fanfest yesterday was an epihany for me, as I finally understand what kind of company CCP is.
CCP are visionaries. Or more accurately, they're dreamers. Everything CCP produce is about potential. It's about jam tomorrow and never jam today. As a result, the best state that CCP's game can acheive is "adequate". Because CCP can never follow through on their promises, on their visions. They try their best, like with Dust and WoD (and even EVE, which is essentially just a niche game) but always fall short.
I have no doubt that Legion will follow the same pattern. When (If?) it drops in a year, or two years, it will be "adequate", with the Devs promising it will become great in a year or two (or more likely Soon(tm)).
Valkyrie: I predict that will be the same story. Everyone's bigging it up as the killer app for OR, the next big thing in gaming. But it won't be because it's being developed by CCP. So all it will be is "adequate".
CCP are dreamers. They will never, ever really be doers. |

They not killing the game, they want it to survive. Consoles are PC's at the end, so PC is the future of gaming. |

Not all of us raging about Legion are raging about the move from PS3.
We're raging that it was planned well in advance and we were directly told DUST would be continuing while CCP was preparing to kill it.
We're raging that DUST could have moved to the new platform with the planned updates and content Legion is supposed to be getting, which had always been the plan. Instead, though, CCP are scrapping the game, leaving it to die slowly on an aging console, and pretending like they never promised to do anything for it that they're now promising (and probably failing to deliver again) for Legion.
We're raging that CCP actively promoted events which encouraged people to spend real money on the game, telling us it would be continuing for ten years or more, after that had already made the decision to abandon it. |

Yes it was a business decision and when you make a business decision you can decide to treat your customers with respect or you xan screw them over and milk them for money. Should they be happy and loyal if you choose the latter route?
If CCP couldn't make Dust work financially what makes you think Valkyrie will be successfil or that they will actually sink more resources into Dust 514 PC version?
Because, that's why.

Yup, this exactly.
Everyone who isnt a goddamn child knows that a PC of similar specs costs a third of the price of a console. And dont you give me this "optimized for gaming" bullshit, I played games in 2006 in a greater resolution that "nex gen" consoles can pull off without shitting themselves.

This statement is only usually true after the aforementioned console is out for a year or two, but it's a valid point. Since Legion is being developed with UE 4, it shouldn't make a difference though. Epic's been telling everyone who will listen that PC and console games developed with the engine will scale and run equally well on PCs and Consoles. |
