Not all of us raging about Legion are raging about the move from PS3.
We're raging that it was planned well in advance and we were directly told DUST would be continuing while CCP was preparing to kill it.
We're raging that DUST could have moved to the new platform with the planned updates and content Legion is supposed to be getting, which had always been the plan. Instead, though, CCP are scrapping the game, leaving it to die slowly on an aging console, and pretending like they never promised to do anything for it that they're now promising (and probably failing to deliver again) for Legion.
We're raging that CCP actively promoted events which encouraged people to spend real money on the game, telling us it would be continuing for ten years or more, after that had already made the decision to abandon it. |

Man, **** PS3, work harder 2 years, and then, when finally launch the ******* game, buy a 200 usd pc. Is anything in your post even remotely relevant to anything I said?
No?
Why did you quote me then? |

A PS3 controller works even better in a pc than in the ps3 itself. Is anything in THIS post relevant to what I had said in my quote post OR what you had said in the post you quoted from yourself?
No?
WTF kind of drugs are you on? And are they legal anywhere in the world? If so, where? |

Just sayan. PS3 and XBox 360 consoles had many aspects of their hardware outdated by the time they were released, too. They still managed to produce games which looked as good as their PC equivalents after developers got used to creating games for the consoles, which took a couple of years. High-end PCs did end up overtaking them eventually, but there was a period where the console games looked better. Early in a console's lifespan, developers aren't pushing its limits. Later in a console's lifespan, they're either pushing them too hard (framerate problems and other glitches) or simply falling behind far enough to give PC the advantage again. |

They still managed to produce games which looked as good as their PC equivalents At half the resolution they could be played on PC. And people NEVER got the cell figured out, unless they came from a black hole research project. Google it, seriously. And please dont confuse console exclusives with something that can only be done on consoles. The latter simply doesnt exist. Console exclusives at the right point in the console's life cycle look and run better than comparable PC games released at the same time while those PC games are running on the hardware that was available at that time. Many of those games look and run better now than they did on release, and sometimes it's simply because they scale with upgrades to your PC, which the console doesn't have the option of doing.
The fact is that a console gives you a limited window of advantage over PC gamers, but for the most part, the advantage is in cost. A solid gaming PC will usually (not always) cost more than a console, and making sure it REMAINS a solid gaming PC will cost a LOT more than making sure your gaming console remains viable over the next 5 years. |
