Indeed but in the context, exploiting a silly decision is apt.

Indeed but in all things over all CCP has the last word, an overriding final third party that makes final decisions wholly invalidates the idea that this is a "democratic process".

To those people pulling up random numbers who they have no idea what to do with:
~2000 players in DNS is not an accurate representation of the DUST voting base of DNS. A good chunk of those are EVE pilots. Then we have a very large number of inactive players. And then we have the fact that due to it not actually being a completely unified alliance in agreement on everything people aren't going to be uniting to back a single candidate.
'5000 DUST players' is an absurd misrepresentation of the numbers. There are about 4000-5000 on at peak times each day. That does not equal the number of DUST players that there are. Not everyone can play daily, and not everyone plays at the same times. The actual number is likely to be vastly higher.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

They designed the mechanics. It has been shown several times throughout DUST's history that it is possible to attain a huge degree of MH control and CCP have never intervened. DNS is only the third group to dominate MH.
So are you saying that it is violating rules laid down by CCP for gain? Because that would actually be exploitation, and nobody is doing that.

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/FACTION_WARFARE_ARMY 3000+ MEMBERS!! DONUT! CONTRABANJOE IS GOING TO USE HIS BLOC TO STEAL CPM!
Seriously though, we have like 3 guys running for CPM, and we are NOT a unified voting bloc. There have been no alliance mails about CPM elections and at least dust side, we have a lot of different viewpoints on that matter. Personally, I am likely to have Zatara as one of my top 3 picks, but I am sure that won't be the case for everyone. And Appia won't be on my ballot, but I know that she will be on at least a few of my alliancemates ballots. A lot of the guys probably wont even vote at all...
This whole thread smells of fear mongering to unite people against DNS on a political level. Nobody wants to spend the money to clone pack us, so you are trying to fight back whichever way you can.
I am here to tell you that your tactic is worse for the game than the "blue donut" that you decry as exploiting. DNS currently contains the majority of the people qualified to speak objectively about serious competitive dust play, and by trying to box those voices out, you are boxing out the voices that can best help relate some of the issues that CAUSE the blue donut. The PC mechanics that need to be changed, the balance issues, the small little stuff that you only pick up on after playing 100+ matches against the top talent in the game (Despite the fact that we are blue now, we have all fought each other repeatedly for over 6 months). You would be doing a worse disservice to the game by trying to conjure fear about a representative in DNS, than we have ever done... |

the goons year after year have a member on the csm. they all vote for the same person. if you expect it to e different here youre nuts.
if the doughnut risks voting in multiple members they are likly to not get any on. it would be more sane for them to vote for one person to ensure they have a voice on the cpm. that being said bribery may be used to get cpm members to think thier way.
ofc i could be hugly wrong and they may not try that. i cant say im just voiceing my thoughts which are y no means saying what anyone will do just what they could do.

lol... The level of paranoia in this thread is astounding! lol. I'm not even trying to say DNS guys shouldn't be on the council, etc. As I said, I like Zatara, and will probably vote for him. I also like a good number of other, non-running guys whom are also in DNS. In fact, I'd personally rather side with them, than against them. that is for sure.
I'm not fear mongering. I'm not a republican radio station, lol. I'm just trying to get it straight, and this thread has done that. Wow. a thread served it's purpose! crazy, eh? Sheesh.
At any rate, I encourage anyone to vote for who they see to be best for the job. I was just curious how the community felt. You must admit though, DNS is to DUST what Goons are to EVE, just on a much, much smaller scale (due to a lack of player market... yet)
The fact that the handful of corps in DNS, particularly the few that own the lionshare of districts, probably have more ISK than all the other corps in the game put together... that is a great reason for everyone to be concerned about this power creep. |

What do you want us(DNS) to do? For months on end we fought each for the land grab. Either for our own land(s) or being hired be other corps and fighting against each other for someone elses land(s). This went on and on and was still going on up until we all went under the same umbrella. What would you do? Keep fighting the same 16-24 guys every night?
Tell me/us right here; what do you want from DNS? Just say it, don't be shy. I am curious of your thoughts and will be respectful of them.
I'll wait.

I'm not saying ccp didn't design the mechanics, or that they aren't the dumbest mechanics ever... I'm saying ccp did not forsee or intend for the mechanics to be EXPLOITED in this manner.... I fully blame ccp for the way this game is, I also fully blame any player that takes advantage of ccp's ignorance...
so yes it is violating the rules, because these are not the rules ccp anticipated... are they stupid for not seeing this ...yes... are the people who take advantage of this exploiting the game... also yes... but I do hold the player in a higher regard than I do ccp for discovering and benifitting from this broken shite, because I respect ingenuity and cleverness....people who find exploits usually help make a game better, but ccp's failure to act and the players' willingness to continue to exploit these weaknesses are both regrettable....
I don't think dns or any other person taking advantage of exploits in dust should be punished... but lets call a duck a duck... they are exploiters....
this game makes me sad....

I think DNS should be the dust version of eve's RVB....I wouldn't have any problem with how much isk they make if they used a portion of it to fund events, and train noobs, I think you all should work with dust university for the training part, having your vets give lectures and classes there as well as a few districts for training purposes.
I think you all should stop pubstomping, until the game grows to point where the population can handle it, right now it just drives new players away who don't understand whats going on.

Won't go into details, but I help out the new guys along with a few people in my Corp.
Calling us exploiters though. I don't get it. We don't fight each other, that is not exploitation any way you slice it.
As far as pub stomping goes, I don't see a difference tbh. The matches are the same to me.
You want us(DNS) to give districts for "training purposes". See, this is where I have issue. Someone always wants something. How bout earn a district? That is what is wrong with kids today. Everyone thinks they deserve a participation ribbon. Sorry buddy, it doesn't work like this.
You bash us for doing what we do yet if the shoes were on your feet, you would do the same thing. I know, I know, you will reply with that you would not. This game is about dominating your opponents, why do anything less?
It is up to CCP to fix the game, especially pub matches. Their needs to be tiered levels. Basic/Adv/Proto rooms. When/if that were to happen though, people would cry because a 40 million SP Merc fitted himself out in basic gear and stomped out the room. It's never ending.
There is no way to make anyone happy unless DNS just gave the districts up on a first come first serve basis, restricted to playing FW with basic gear, had all our ISK taken away and only allowed 8 guys from the same alliance in any match at any given time.
Good luck with all of that. I guess you guys can continue QQ'ing because if it is up to me, you won't ever get a piece of land to call your own and their damn sure won't be any place to "learn PC" while farming ISK LOL

I'm dreaming, I know... but you asked, now troll away..... I'm not trolling, I want to know. Personally, I help smaller corps. I guess you guys can continue QQ'ing because if it is up to me, you won't ever get a piece of land to call your own and their damn sure won't be any place to "learn PC" while farming ISK LOL
not fighting each other isn't what makes you exploiters.... milking PC for isk with locksand no risk fights is exploitive...the blue donut is exploitive only to the point that it makes it impossible for someone outside the donut to get into PC... even if someone did fight and win a district you all would just continuously attack them, throwing the endless resources you all have accumulated at them till they couldn't resist anymore, but if someone did resist, you all again have enough resources to potentially buy them off perhaps by including them in the donut....
districts for training purposes would actually serve you all... if you all cared about the game and community...it would help it grow.... whats wrong with participation ribbons? humans are social animals, if you want to get philosophical no man can live alone for very long.... death will find him either through his inability to excel at a particular life necessitating skill, or insanity from isolation...a village becomes a city through the inclusion and participation of fellow human beings... but back to the game and as far as it's concerned, the mechanics are so broken here that there is no real way to fight and "earn" anything in PC....
if this were more like eve open world wise and battle population wise then dns would not be able to do what its doing... you cant lock space, so the corps in eve null sec have to be constantly vigilant.... the lock option is an instant win button for you all, so handing out some ribbons for participation, for the communities sake wouldn't be a bad thing.... do I sound like I would do what you all are doing? no I don't, and I wouldn't... I would do what I'm suggesting to you while still being the richest guy in dust...and I agree, it is up to ccp to fix the game
and you wont ever make everyone happy, but you don't need to be douchebags...
this game makes me sad....

Tbf even if one of us got on the cpm and tried to sway mechanic's in our favour. We would rip them apart and demand there removal.

not to sound childish.... but you all started it.... what? you think the community just decided to hate you all.... not true.... unlike the districts in PC that's the one thing you all did earn... not all of you are bad, but you can thank the d*ck bags in your alliance for cultivating the animosity you all get....
personally I don't hate you all, but I do think you are all wasting a great opportunity to be community builders....I find the decision you all have made to be the villains regrettable, but I had my welcoming committee to new eden a long time ago, so I get it....
I just strongly believe that dns is doing their part to kill this game.... cant honestly say I deeply care about that either... but it is unfortunate.
this game makes me sad....
