So.. what if CPM1 consists of all Blue Donut people?
Don't you think that would be harmful to the game? well.. I have a feeling that since said azure pastry controls a large majority of the most active and ... vocal DUST players, that it won't be hard to set up a system in which, if it comes to a vote, they will have the majority.
Seems fishy to me. |

Syveven Reed and Zatara Rought are the only two I know of I would say that Syeven Reed has about a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Zatara has a chance but it probably depends on just how blinded by DNS hate people are. Also, I'd like to ask, OP - why do you think that having a candidate from DNS on the CPM would be a terrible thing?
Did I say it would be a terrible thing? I just asked people if they thought it would be harmful.
I'm more concerned about a large group like that's ability to sway such an important part of the direction DUST goes.
Not saying any of the candidates are crooked, but it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility for a CPM to take NDA intel and share it with close corp mates, or at the very least, using said intel to sway decisions made in PC, Market manipulation (when it becomes viable) etc. so I'd like honest people in there. but just like in a presidential election, that is probably asking too much.
At any rate, I don't mind if Zatara gets in, since I've known him for a while from the PFBHz days, and he seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders.
Personally, I feel all aspects of the game should be covered. We need someone with up-to-date PC experience, as well as someone who doesn't hold any districts, but has fought in PC, to look objectively at the formers ideas.
We need someone who despirately wants PvE, and a crafting system. We need someone who wants more vehicles, and someone who wants fewer vehicles. we need an all out slayer, and a logi guy who can't pull above a 1.0 KDR.
We need balance in the CPM, and the way the public image of DNS is going is that they are mostly greedy PC carebears who are constantly looking out for numero uno.
I know not every single member of DNS is like that, but truthfully, in order to hold a PC district right now, it's almost assured you're just interested in personal gain. Get most of the best players in the game (or at least, best slayers), and scare off anyone from even attempting to take a district, since it's pretty much a waste of ISK to attempt to do so. Then blue up with anyone who is a possible threat.
sounds just like what happened in EVE with the CFC. and that turned out just great, didn't it?
I'm not new to this game. I've been playing since the first round of beta, and quite frankly, I am rather distraught with the way this game has gone south. Such insignificant changes to the broader gameplay (no changes of scenery, no more cover, balances/nerfs that lead to massive imbalances, etc.) All I can say is, I hope CPM1 helps CCP to see that this game is in serious trouble (if they can't see that themselves) and that the only way to dig it out is key changes, and to balance using a scale, not a hammer. |

lol... The level of paranoia in this thread is astounding! lol. I'm not even trying to say DNS guys shouldn't be on the council, etc. As I said, I like Zatara, and will probably vote for him. I also like a good number of other, non-running guys whom are also in DNS. In fact, I'd personally rather side with them, than against them. that is for sure.
I'm not fear mongering. I'm not a republican radio station, lol. I'm just trying to get it straight, and this thread has done that. Wow. a thread served it's purpose! crazy, eh? Sheesh.
At any rate, I encourage anyone to vote for who they see to be best for the job. I was just curious how the community felt. You must admit though, DNS is to DUST what Goons are to EVE, just on a much, much smaller scale (due to a lack of player market... yet)
The fact that the handful of corps in DNS, particularly the few that own the lionshare of districts, probably have more ISK than all the other corps in the game put together... that is a great reason for everyone to be concerned about this power creep. |

Yep. I don't care who gets on the CPM anymore. Just like that, my fucks-given-o-meter has gone to zero. |
