I want to not be bored with this game. I wish I didn't get on, run 2 matches and just...ehhh...and go back to something else. I spend more time reading these forums and looking through my skill trees then actually playing the game. I think I am past being upset with CCP. I am over the broken aspects of the game itself as well. I just want this game to be fun. It is more tedious and more of a grind fest then anything else at the moment.
Fan fest will no doubt have some interesting announcements. However, how soon some of the things they announce will come is debatable. Pretty power points and 2 minute CGIs won't provide enough encouraging expectations. Results are what speaks to us all now.
We need a new CPM. I myself am concerned on how much the current CPM has the entire community's best interests in mind. Also if they even play the game to the point of being able to accurately represent the community. That of course doesn't include them all. Communication needs to be better between CCP and the community. This is a well know fact.
I posted a few videos on my twitter that hit some great points. There is an interview with a game developer for another game. The Dev doesn't give out empty promises, he answers every question to the best of his ability and is very transparent. I honestly don't understand why that level of communications can't be displayed here with CCP. It just doesn't make any sense. The game thrives off the community, the community thrives from new incoming player base.
CEO Pyrex said something in one of his videos not too long ago. Not word for word, but the main point I got is that the game is catering to the elite few. This is not Eve Online. It is an FPS game. There is just too much competition out there for CCP to ignore the casual or new player. Battlefield, Planetside, CoD, Blacklight, and many other FPS games. Deny that these games do not have any impact on player base is a close minded point of view.
Anyway, one player means nothing to a company like CCP. Random post like this will be ignored or given a cookie cutter response, but likely not any at all. Trolls will eat up these posts till the meaning is lost and the point is forgotten. The community is just as bad as the practices of the company. How will this game ever dig itself out its current state if this continues?

dust is truly in a dark time, and ccp reign over this game like a medevil tyranny, more interested in their pockets and keeping the nobles sated....
in 5 years, who knows? this game may be amazing, I hope, but doubt it... in all honesty in 5 years a better game having all that dust promised will have been released and possibly established and there will be no need for dust....
this game makes me sad....

There may be a way to improve NPE, generate revenue, bring in new developers, put an end to AFKers, and get this game growing again.
Imagine how many new players come to Dust 514, try it once and are overwhelmed by the daunting amount of time that it will take them to develop their character into a survivable, playable state.
Why can't CCP afford more developers or quality developers for this project? Is it because this game generates trifling revenue?
Why do players leave their mercs running circles or hang in the MCC? Are they tired of the grind?
Is the core problem CCP's business model for this game?

I get tired of the IDGAF attitude and the nerf this and that because it kills or can't be killed .
Trying to kill others roles and the fact that most are bias when it comes to the needs of others or the betterment of the game .
They would rather kill your role instead of solving problems and complain about everything .
Having useless items locked up while people act like they like a backlog of crap . Most of the time it's the one's with prototype left and right and four and five suits that are always speaking against a refund of SP's .
Everyone doesn't want SP's locked into a null void , even if we get them everyday ... it would be nice to make good use of the one's that I have instead of going threw the motions of SP events and looking at my tree and thinking , " Man if I only had the chance to go full racial and get rid of the thing's that I skilled into out of necessity because I didn't have any option . " I believe that I wouldn't be so bored of this game if that wasn't the case ... trapped in no man's land .
I play .. cap ... and prob play like fifteen minuets and that's it . I get sick to my stomach just looking at my skill tree .
I read the forums more than I play the game as well .
Everyday I play less and less and when I first started playing I never thought I would feel the way that I do now .
Stop asking for tiercide , your killing variety and the fun of this game at the same dam time .

I'll be honest. I have put about $100 into the game. To some people might say that is way too much. To others it is nothing. It is more then I have paid for any other game aside from Eve Online. In the beginning I was blindly supportive of CCP Dust 514 team. I can't count how many times I answered questions about how the game would progress. I would tell new players about some of the things that had been discussed by Devs. I told new players to keep at it, because this game has the potential to be like nothing they had ever played.
My devotion to the new player community in my eyes was only contested by one other who I worked very closely with. That person being Keval Longstride CEO of Dust University. We held lectures, created programs for new players to learn from and eased them into the New Eden Universe. Countless hours spent doing whatever we could to provide a well balanced learning environment. That in which had not been provided by CCP in any way.
It was only through the help of many others that we were able to do so. And, it was not easy with the mentality that most FPS gamers have. However, my drive to continue such activity has worn very thin. Why support a game or company that has ignored some of the biggest issues.
A friend said to me, and I agree with him. We are still in a stage of beta. CCP is not advertising its game for a lot of reasons, but one of them being that they know it isn't a finished product. They are using the current player base as test subjects. It doesn't matter to them if they lose each and every player currently playing the game over time. More will come and take their place. Down the road when we, the current community are long gone and have moved on and when the game is in a state where CCP don't feel embarrassed to present it to the public. That is when this game will truly grow. But, that is a long time from now. Years potentially with the current progress they have shown.
Why is it that we can not have strait answers? Why do we get the run around all the time? Why are the products pushed incomplete and poorly produced consistently? Why promote an interactive community when the people who have tried the hardest to help the community grow are ignored or passed over to cater to a small group of elitists who have only their own interests in mind?
The game should be fun. Yes, it should be difficult and unforgiving, but only in the proper venues. Destroying new players only hurts the game. If you are wanting competition then stop jumping from one winning corp to another. Stop being carebares and going blue with alliances because they are winning. When I look at dust charts I see 3 major corps all in the same alliance holding all of MH. Bunch of care bearing wanna be elitists. Not all you of course. Some of you are outstanding players and cool people. But, the people who jump from corp to corp to surround themselves with good players so they themselves don't get stomped. Then go and talk about how awesome they are when really they are just being carried...
Ok...went off topic....anyway...I want the game to be what it was supposed to be. A standalone FPSMMO that connects to Eve Online. CCP if you make the players of dust dependent on Eve players to get things done you will ruin this game beyond repair.

I understand what you want us to get out of the video, but being that it is such an old video, it is almost irreverent. Not to be rude. Sorry if it comes off that way. A lot has taken place since that presentation. The changes to FW, LP market; Which is ok, but I was expecting weapons to be different from their ISK/ AUR purchased versions. I mean....why gain LP and lose isk when you can play a match gain isk and buy the same items from the market with that isk? The items from FW should emulate their Eve counter parts. This would give them value. I wouldn't mind spending 5K+ LP on a faction Tank if it were worth it. But, if I can buy that same tank with isk...then why bother?
PvE was mentioned, but we all know that is a pipe dream. I heard them say Open World as well...They seemed as if they had no real idea what was going on, Listening to them felt like, they were just given some flash cards, coached on what to say and took a look at the power point they would be presenting. The second speaker seems so nervous about what he was saying it almost looked like he was about to **** himself.
http://youtu.be/noR3ijZ6ZU0 - Watch that interview. Listen to how the developer answers the questions. This is true transparency. He is confident in his answers, he is not trying to sell the product, he answers the questions he can and doesn't give vague answers. This is the type of communication I would love to see come from the CCP Dust514 Dev team.
Hell, I call out any Dev from CCP Dust 514 to allow me to do an interview with them. I would be fair and reasonable with my questions, but I would expect strait answers. I would not be aggressive or rude. The Devs have my respect. It may not seem like I give it, but it is there.

The second speaker has been speaker for many years and that is simply how he talks.
The video is not really irrelevant, only the parts such as FW and PC that have been iterated on already.Regardless the roadmap of all the stuff currently we have now has been known since July.
They are pointing out that NPE, Market, PVE ect will be coming or will be a focus of 2014 simply put those are suppose to be vague answers as they were developing up until this fanfest, also PVE Drones have been shown multiple times in previews and actual in game design. So these are simple roadmaps that are never fully realized until they are fully developed down the road much like the state of FW and PC that was constantly changing. Only now you can expect a bigger focus to be on how you interact with the universe and having tangible resources that allow you to interact with other players, which has mostly been the 'MMO' goal of this game. So essentially what is there is what you can expect for Fanfest nothing less, these plans usually are followed through upon.

Just like the plans for wod? Or plans for when Incarna hit eve online? Talk is pretty cheap at this point when referring to ccp. Recent events including the year plus of history involving this game has rendered ccp's words pretty inert.

It's just a simple road map or 'direction' they are taking, if I remember the plan after uprising came out was to release all of the racial weapons/vehicles and Core Game Play essentially which is mostly what has been released and has been generally fulfilled I wouldn't say they are not capable of generating their content but usually their ideas are pretty solid just the fact that most of this stuff is implemented and they have to continue reiterating on until it is working right.

Which brings us back to the statements my friend made about us being test subjects. Why is a released product stllunder construction? New weapons amd dropsuits that dont really provide any real difference in the game are just shinny distractions. Yet, the content released with these distractions is unfinished and untested. The quality of the porduct is poor at best. Defending or making excuses for a company that is profiting on such flawed content should not be the stance of any member of our community. ccp is a business, we are the consumer. If Microsoft released a product that was flawed and filled with bugs would you come to their defence? If so what would that ddefense be? That they have a roadmap on how they eventually want it to work?

I agree with the sentiment. DUST514 is damn boring the way it is played. The stomps get old real quick, even the stompers get so bored they suicide into the redline just to get a kill. We're reaching the point where there exist so many proto players that every match is going to end in such a way.
If I had to pick one feature to attempt a fix. I would choose PVE. PVE could at least serve as a launchpad for everything else. Wont fix anything, but it will keep people playing.

Want to make it interesting? Donate some ISK to me and I will forward it to small corps so that they can purchase clones packs. I have a growing list of corporations and individuals that want to change the face of PC and every donation helps bring it closer to coming true.
I gave 10M to a corp today and put out a 350M ISK bounty in EVE. I am trying to provide content to the game and by giving ISK you can help us make this game fun again by funding constant battles in Molden Heath. I have a group of pilots that are wanting to give support. Please consider my request and ALL the ISK donated goes towards PC.
Donate ISK to me and help fund PC change! We CAN take PC back & allow smaller corps to have a chance at having a home.

I started this game hoping that it would be more than your average FPS, something that would allow deep customization along with the MMOFPS. And although the customization is good and hopefully gets much better, 16 vs 16 needs to expand to 32 vs 32 or even 64 vs 64. But first they need to fix the bugs! Having the screen freeze for 10 seconds and then suddenly you're 30 meters somewhere else hurts my poor head. I still have hope for this game. I still enjoy aspects of this game, like forming a squad of Unistas and then giving stompers a little harder fight than they are used to, or busting enemy tanks . Keep fighting to get their attention. They may not like it, but I believe you are offering constructive criticism, and the truth, well, sometimes it hurts.
A post from my Corp's forum. I agree. I will keep fighting to get their attention. It is upsetting to think that there are quite a few people out there doing their best to tell it how it is, stick to the main issues. Too many Nerf / Buff threads out there. Notice that in none of my threads are asking for either. I am advocating for a better game for the entire community. My ideas are not course or game breaking. But, simple implementations that if done correctly can change the course of this game's growth. Not all my ideas are solid, but at least they have some foundation of progress.
CCP, why have people like myself who are trying to reach out to you guys being ignored? Why are you consulting with people who don't play the game or who have an elitist mentality? What is it going to take for you to actually see who the people are out there that have your game and the community's best interest in mind in stead of some alternative agenda that caters only to a very select few? When will the real change happen?

I wonder whats on the forums today? Oh yeah I forgot what it's like here.
Seriously just go play other games then. Or go outside and breathe for a second. You don't have to play just Dust... If you ate nothing but your favorite food all day, every day you'd get pretty sick of that, too.
I seriously don't get you guys. I have come back from a month-long hiatus and am back to enjoying the crap out of this game. As soon as I am able, I'm probably going to sink more money in to it, just like I did the other games I enjoy.

I don't get why, communication with the community is so hard? Or, properly testing a product before release is so hard. At the end of the day this is just a game. But, it is supposed to be immersive. The community almost takes on a role playing aspect. Playing Eve Online for long enough captures you in the New Eden experience.
Your mindset is valid, from a casual player's point of view. I however and not a casual player. This is my hobby. Not unlike any other hobby. So, I immerse myself in game and the community. I do care about what happens within those two things. Which is why my threads exist.

This. One of the most frustrating aspects of the communication between Dev's and players on these forums.

This. One of the most frustrating aspects of the communication between Devs and players on these forums. It's damn difficult to answer questions when you speak for an official body. I'm not excusing anything, but I can sympathize with them. Everyone who has ever been in a position of leadership will understand.
