Reducing the effectiveness of hardeners doesn't address any of the real issues, and only cripples the gunnlogi in particular. I mean really it just dosn't make sense, from someone that actually understands the differences between the tank types. It's clear CCP does not, as they broke shield tanks in an effort to "fix" them.
How short sighted are you CCP really??? GG fellas, those people who came to the forums bitching that hardeners were "TOO STRONG" have won. Those who understood nothing about tanks, or those who called themselves tankers in MLT tanks, they won.
No, you can't have my isk for I have none, nor any love for my role anymore. I thought we were done with bullshit like this.

infantry wanted av buffed and blasters nerfed, infantry doesn't give a **** about red line rail guns, it's solely a tanker issue thus why it got addressed.
blaster versus blaster tank was silly they just stood their attacking each other while passive reps won the fight, again not an infantry issue their av couldn't kill them either way.
you can deny it all you want the only thing that was addressed were tanker issues. |

No sense though that a swarm couldn't stop shield regen and do damage.
Having 16 missiles hit you at one time should make at least a noticeable difference and prevent shield regen.

tankers should of known that when ccp does something they usually do collateral damage.
they are the embodiment of "careful what you wish for" i'm just surprised they didn't do more damage ^^
for example when the infantries are begging for scouts to be nerfed, the will probably do something to make sniper rifles worse, I don't know how, but it will happen, always does ^^ |

A slight AV adjustment would have been a much better solution. I blame tankers for the hardener Nerf. If they weren't such a dishonest cowardly lot we could have had a decent solution. Personally I don't notice much of a difference in the shield hardener. The Armor hardener was a perk.
take comfort that during every engagement you enter you will be weaker. You could have been honest and helped AVget fixed. The odds are you would be facing Bad Ass AV some of the time. now you are weaker 100% of the time. Stupid.

Last I checked, it's not the tankers up there making the final decisions. CCP is responsible for everything that happens with imbalances.

All I believe many tankers have said is "Too much, too fast" smaller steps makes for better balance.
Am I also to assume that you are complaining because your blaster tank.....and I am going to assume Sica or Soma can't beat a Maddy?

NONONONONONONONONONONO I asked for none of this what I asked for was: Tiered Modules 30%/45%/60% Unstupid core skills Example you could only get to that 60% by not only sinking sp into Shield modules but another bonus so bonus would make it from 50% to 60%. Other Coreskills that enhance damage + Passive bonuses My Scattered Ion Cannon that way blasters could at least compete with Dual rep/Dual Hard Maybe a slight speed nerf and a 5% AV buff across the board and special AV damage mods so they could retain their 10% DMG mods

Why does CCP always go way over the top with their nerfs.
But yeah, I have no idea why modules aren't already tier'ed in this way. There isn't a huge divide between dedicated tankers and MLT tankers. Why? Is that really so wrong, it took me a year just to gain 20mil SP to begin with, and I feel it's rather wasted in comparison to what is supposed to be my little brother the sica.
And yes CORE SKILLS. I don't exactly consider a pg/cpu reduction per skill level as a core skill. Not when modules aren't tier'ed at least.

Kind of a ironic really, don't you think? When the pendulum had swung the other way and AV was overpowered all AV players were blamed and called out rather then a vocal few. Not accusing you personally but just an observation.
I wanted and called for Tanks/AV to be rebalanced pre 1.7, as I do with all roles that have no place or are UP, and yes it is CCP that makes the final decision, but they don't do it without paying attention to collected data and the current state of the forums. I easily noticed more tankers just calling complaints about the Tank/AV balance QQ or finding it funny rather then Tankers actually calling for balance. In fact I can probably count the number of tankers on my hand that don't enjoy the current balance and are vocal about it.

I dunno, that Gunlogi I snuck around and engaged from behind, making sure to hit it's weak spot all in concert with another blue tank attacking him didn't seem to have a problem shrugging off every round we threw at him. Just killed the first tank and turned and killed mine, granted it was a low skill soma but still didn't even phase him. Even hit him with a jihad jeep and didn't kill him.
CCP you better nail 1.8, as it stands 1.7 is a total disaster.

I've been on the forums a while now, and yes. It get's my blood boiling when someone calls out tankers as a whole (given the context of how he said it).
And I have good reason. If you would click my name and just go back and read a few of my posts, you would know all too well I'm one of those tankers that called for some true balance. Be prepared for some heavy reading though. And far too often I've watched what I consider very well thought out and constructive feedback fall off the face of the forums (mine and others) in lou of the tankers with ******** ideas so unpopular that they would garner far more attention.
Yes I know the forums well. Everyone reads the bullshit posts, of just a paragraph, but get into some serious discussion and NOBODY is interested.
So yeah fella, my blood does boil when people call my role out, as I've put a lot of my personal time and effort into actually providing "real" feedback calling for balance.

Maybe 1 extender with 2 hardeners would be somewhat viable. But I feel 3 hardeners is the way to go now. 3 hardeners, probably need 2 up for taking damage, throw on the 3rd if needed for old damage reduction. Sense they didn't address the true problem, the length and cooldown times of hardeners.
I imagine with 3 hardeners up, you can stand toe to toe with any rail tank and live. (If you fight one with stacked damage mods, it just means you need 3 shots to drop em.)

This isn't my ideal solution either, I'd much rather have had AV de-nerfed and tanks made more expensive than V somewhat de-buffed. That and the invention of a light/heavy hardener with present/past specs of the current modules respectively reapplied. IE, assault dropships could only fit light, tanks get heavy or several lights, AV is stronger/around where it used to be. |

Armor tank I take it. That gun depression really makes a difference! I suspect a little tougher than the gunnlogi. Had 2 shield tanks, a missile tank and a rail tank givin me trouble with my forge. Namely the blueberries weren't doing much so I was on my own against both the tanks and infantry.
Eventually said **** it and pulled out my doubled hardened dual tanked sica (no SP) and mopped the floor with them. Incredible how much more effective it is against hardened tanks. Used to barely dent them, now though I can manage to kill them, though I admit, if they are duel tanking a gunnlogi, it requires me to overheat. But it also requires the same of them.

nope I use rail gun tanks to kill tanks and drop ships, never bothered farming infantry with blasters specced into them enough to use proto-blasters but I look at that as wasted sp, I also am specced into tanks, I choose not to do anything half assed, if i'm going to fight tanks with tanks then I will be on equal footing.
i've squaded with tankers, i've faced tankers, i've been a tanker.
honestly I agree that I probably can't beat someone that's been using tanks for years, but I don't really give them a chance to fight me that way, I drive my tanks like a shotgun scout, and kill you before you get a chance to fight.

Thing is all the Nerf did is make tank battles shorter. AV is still glitched. And once it gets fixed I will still be able to kill them before they can kill me.
Ideally I would have a decent threat to use against bad ass machines. Not gimped AV against gimped Tanks. It makes tank turrets more volatile against other tanks. A competent tanker will still out gun Av. Speed and HP are a factor. I only have to make them miss one shot. Easy cheesy. I am used to fighting rail tanks with way more damage and range. I can out tank AVwithout even firing a shot. That's not to say I let them off the hook. Previously a IAFGwas something to be feared, since 1.7 not so. I have ample time to do any number of things. The most effective being just kill him.

The gap between 0SP and 20mil SP pilots is still very little
If blasters dont break the shield regen which so far i havent seen or had it done to me with a hardener on then that has also failed

Yeah, when the hell are they going to fix that already. Really gimpin my tank killin / dropship killin. It's great getting them down to that last bit of health, and misfire! And then I'm dead. Or not firing for the first 2 shots. Oh oh oh, got that infantry lined up, and nothing. Wow, what a wasted effort.

sorry if it's not exactly what you tankers wished for maybe you should of been more specific and got a union. All I believe many tankers have said is "Too much, too fast" smaller steps makes for better balance. Am I also to assume that you are complaining because your blaster tank.....and I am going to assume Sica or Soma can't beat a Maddy? That's how it always should have been. nope I use rail gun tanks to kill tanks and drop ships, never bothered farming infantry with blasters specced into them enough to use proto-blasters, and missles but I look at that as wasted sp, I also am specced into tanks and have both maddy fits and gunni fits, I choose not to do anything half assed, if i'm going to fight tanks with tanks then I will be on equal footing. i've squaded with tankers, i've faced tankers, i've been a tanker. honestly I agree that I probably can't beat someone that's been using tanks for years( at least not without investing more sp ), but I don't really give them a chance to fight me that way, I drive my tanks like a shotgun scout, and kill you before you get a chance to fight it just seems more effective. not really sure what that has to do with the thread but since you asked.
That's another problem I feel. How the hell does a tank ninja sneak around like that? Given it's my most popular strat, but at times it feels cheap. The other tank should have picked me up on scanners.
Sometimes I come behind tanks and bump them a little. Sayin hey guess what's behind you and boom, yr dead.

Practically everybody who uses AV and posts on the forums agreed Dropships needed some kind of buff and/or severe price cut. Forge Gun enthusiasts such as myself didn't like how easy it was to take out low-end HAVs, that new Tank-Commanders were getting a raw deal. No one was against the "waves of opportunity" concept.
The big disagreement came over nerfing. Some people wanted their buffs and see others get nerfed. So it is mind-boggling to be accused of political trolling when myself and others were on the receiving end of it most of 2013. My favorite line was, "There is a disease in this game and it is AV."

Hah, ok. So say those with no experience with tanks. I know already, your feedback was ever more valuable than those that put any sort of time and effort in discovering those imbalances. Or that actually play the role, and that of AV as well.
No, it wasn't the fact that ambush had far to many vehicles allowed (wow ambush is awesome now, with just that one small change)
That's where the tank hate and bitching lived and thrived. That one little thing fixed that issue, but they had to go and nerf hardeners, rail range (which is ok), blah blah blah.

I can attest to Tebu and his interest in actual balance between tanks and av. He is one of the few tankers I respect and don't consider him a ***** like the majority of tankers out there lol. He's never wanted an I win button installed in his tank and truly wants things to be balanced. Just check his old posts if you dont believe it

Who wanted all aspects of tanking nerfed, not just MLT? Infantry Who wanted hardeners nerfed? Infantry
Like I've been saying, why would we want to nerf our own playstyle? When CCP were going to nerf the Cal logi and TAR rifles, everybody on the forums whined and complained that it would be the end of Dust. Yet, when tankers got on here and said that despite technological advances, nuclear baseballs just don't seem feasible and AV grenades should be nerfed far sooner than they were, we were laughed into obscurity. When we said it isn't reasonable that PRO swarms could melt a third of our armor on the first volley, we were told to HTFU.
I can't wait for something from 1.8 to get nerfed, just so I can come on here and see infantry just like you crying that it doesn't need to be nerfed.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim
