I don't need the cloak to cross most open ground, I've been hiding from LoLogis with FOTM weapons for over a year, I need it to sneak past the gate guards in the city, or sneak past the heavy to kill his logi so my squad can clean up. 5 seconds, which someone proposed, or heaven forbid, 10 seconds, would make it utterly garbage. That said, as a crusty scout, it's handy, but sticking with the old skills is a far better battle plan, nerf or not.

The former is pretty easy to spot while the latter might take some getting used to. The only change I would make (if any) is to make the decloaking sound as loud for everyone in direct proximity as it is for the person using it. That way, if you're say hacking a supply depot and hear that sound, you at least warn teammates that there's a cloaked in that area. I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Apart from that the cloak is fine. 1. it's not hard to see cloaked scout if you pay attention 2. a cloaked scout is helpless when you start shooting at him he can't shoot back, he fist need to switch to his weapon and this gives you always the edge. 3. there is still a noise when cloaking/decloaking 4. most scouts can still be scanned 5. If you do not pay to attention to your surroundings any one would be able to kill you...

In 9 out of 10 games I never encountered someone with a protoscanner, but yeah I ran a dampener on anything above std in my suits...so being sneaky was never a problem

It's not lag, it is repeatable, all you do is use your quick switch to change to your primary, you get about 3 secs before you decloak to shoot the living **** out of that guy infront of you. Soultions: 1) Decloak faster, decloak louder, by the time the cortex is put away you should be fully uncloaked. Simple 2) Weapons take longer to switch to while cloaked, so you change to fthe shotgu n with your quick switch the shotgun won't be up until you finish decloaking. 3) Weapons fired before the cloak is fully uncloaked will expend its energy, that way you have a small window to shoot while invisible, but doing so results in you not being able to cloak for a very long time.
