If CCP could sticky this thread, the data will be more extensive and therefore provide more purpose.
There are already posts requesting 1.9 changes and ideas. So I would like to put it to a vote.
The system - read the options below. Select one choice for what you feel 1.9's centre point / main focus should be. Comment with the #_ of your final decision, then (if you want to) include a brief reason as to why you have made this choice.
#1 - sort out all imbalance, no new content please.
#2 - finish adding content, then worry about imbalance.
#3 - introduce the player owned-market.
#4 - introduce PvE.
#5 - focus on the NPE (new player experience)
#6 - other (please specify in your best English)
The closing date is tba. If CCP decide to use this data, we must vote sensibly and with the future of the game at heart.
On the closing date, I will personally count up the total and report them in an edit. Reaper

I would prefer a path that looks more like this.
- Add the content that is missing - Balance what you have added - Improve performance & graphics - Add maps and new game modes - If they ever pull it, continue the project with carbon engine in the PS4

It makes no sense whatsoever. They have 1.9 mapped out with any luck at all. That might or might not include the New Whatever that they will announce at Fan Fest in May.
CCP nor CCP/Shanghai have rarely listened to the players. Indeed the CPM get ignored routinely and they mostly mirror CCP/Shanghai's attitudes. Specifically HTFU.
Down load Unity. Make your own game. Then let the players vote on what to do next. You will cease to be functional.
So, good luck with this.

(By cheaters I mean lag switchers modded controller users).
(Ps. Now that I think about it, its a triple effect as you wont go against vets as well).

I cant agree more with this one. I wouldnt call it "double edged sword" because of the negative connotations. I would call it a triple-barreled gun.
You can solve the most problems at once implementing PVE. Every online game with long term player investment has this. Dust can only profit from that. The only ones at loss are the 40mio vets, that will have problems finding easy prey. Tons of potential new players and frustrated players returning would make up for that 100-fold.
I beg you CCP please prioritize PVE for the good of dust. Balance issues can be adressed in monthly mini-updates until PVE strikes.
Edit: Well I think I didnt think that through in relation to the topic... 1.9 would adress only minor balance, etc. I dont think they can add another major content update so soon. So I guess this would be for 1.10 / 1.11 or 2.0. But IF it would be possible to add PVE as soon as 1.9? ... The sooner the better imo. |

I believe uprising 1.9 should focus on issue 1 and issue 5 here's my solution: SECURITY STATUS just like how Eve has security status judging on what security space you can go into so should dust and here's how: null sec players anything goes: proto, Madrugers, Incubus anything goes meanwhile highsec would have a basic restriction that is basic and militia and low sec everything up to advanced that means that if players that are already proto but want to go to low or high sec they have to cap their points and make a level playing field otherwise they will take security hits and eventually be banished and have steeper isk and sp penalty for being in those spaces with those suits and with those vehicles. Dust will die if the new player experience isn't addressed and retention numbers drop. this will be on a weekly basis until pve is introduced. |

1.9 patchnotes
Amar and gallente heavy weapons Amar and gallente secondary sidearms to match the other races having 2 varieties. Remaining tanks and turrets dropships.
Maybe racial mcc's and rdv's
Minor balance pass.
This will bring the game up to the level of having it's basic content and leave the devs free to work on actually creating some mmo content during the cause of (insert name here) 1.0 through 1.9
This said I would like to see jets soon too .
Anyone getting annoyed by reading of the above post should consider the following.

Move it to PS4 AND PC.
Why PS4? Because on the long run PS3 is to small to support the graphical needs of the current state. And CCP has good art works that need a good platform.
Why PC? Oh here we have multiple reasons from my point of view: * Great fan base and big potential of new players. * Better migration to EVE and its account management. * Easy SISI access to test anything. Since last patch I think that get's more and more important.
Reasons why I think both systems are possible: * Unreal engine can run on both systems. * Keyboard/mouse support already implemented. Cross platforming is possible. |

Set it up with various levels of difficulty, each offering variable ISK/SP rewards, with the top level -almost- (but not quite) matching standard Pub matches.
Hell, you could even add in Factional PvE potentially, let people work on their LP outwith PVP. |

Sure I think PvE should be a part of NPE but limiting it there is short sighted. PvE could have more significance too for higher SP players.
If Lvl 1-2 missions were NPE and helped learn game basics, Lvl 3-5 could provide extensive challenges for squads, corps, etc requiring heavy team work to even survive with the chances of rare weapon/ module drops being high.
