How the hell do you do this?

I used to run in squads a lot, and this is a huge change for me. How do you all cope with the terrible team mates? When you're the only one trying, or the only one that's even any good on your entire team?!

I need help.

It's actually pretty easy, I usually play team support, running with the rest of the army and helping them win the battle as best I can, this can be difficult if you can't communicate with them, so what do you do? Don't try, go off in the hills and do your own thing, pick off stragglers, put uplinks in a bunch of locations just to farm points, the great part of going solo is no-one relies on you to do anything so you're free to swoop in and wreck **** and take off, no obligations.

After a while you no longer notice that there are other people on your side and start doing everything yourself.

I just play
have fun doing what you do and don't worry what others do.
Sometimes completely random people will throw an insane amount of energy into accomplishing things.
Enjoy those random moments os synergy on your team, and have fun.

I generally look at the whole team as my squad, I support those I can, and go where I think I can make an impact in what way I can. Being able to read the battlefield is important to having fun solo. If I notice my team is redlined, I do what I can to fix that. If my team is being spawn camped, I take actions to stop that. Intense firefight in one objective, break out a new objective or disrupt the enemy holding point.
Have fun doing what you do
Terrible teams are only terrible if you contribute to the terribleness, many people on a "bad team" are looking for an opportunity to do something, but can't find that opportunity, try to make those opportunities exist and the team will respond. Don't expect them to respond a certain way though.

How is hacking and placing uplinks not trying for the objective?

I may not be sprinting at it like a dumbass, but I'm putting in good spawn points, hacking CRUs, and HACKING UNGUARDED OBJECTIVES.

More often then not, I still contribute more than you useless frontliners who've never heard of defense.

Unless you find yourself at the zerg spearhead for Nyan, they are pretty silly about covering their butt. I find their heavies are the easiest to knife down.

They are easy to JLAV as well. It's like they never expect it.

This. Lol, yeah right. Here we have the standard vanilla assault attitude about not trying for the objective right? Well, 1.8 is going to change that attitude. You already have the FOTM scrub vanilla assaults planning to run scouts.

Thanks to everyone's help, I successfully ran solo and didn't do completely awful against a squad of Nyain San. :D I feel so accomplished. :D

I even bothered to take a pic of it, because this is a major accomplishment for me (Lol, in a video game ). Yeah, pretty pathetic. ^^

Ha, ever since I left my corp and run solo I've actually been doing better. It's still very annoying being the only good player, or the only one trying, but I am not poor (unless you compare me to other people that are in PC corps like my old one). :D
