Those are essential to going solo (unless you get rich in PC, or are part of some corporation that mandates KDR for qualifying for membership.)

I snipe when I go solo, but I also support the team with uplinks.

I really enjoy running a logi with rep and needle. I get a thrill out of being the medic, even in paintball. I am up in the thick firefight making a difference. But, you don't really solo well in a suit like that.

I have been trying to find a squad that actually plays as a squad. Most pub stompings occur because the other team is in fact running a tighter nit squad than the other.

I don't want to corp jump just o find squad mates, so here are some solutions:

Direct Action Response is a corp that has a pub channel, DAR REC, they are centered to running squads and using military tactics. They are new, and not much action is in their pub channel yet, but in time I hope it grows. The few times that I ran with their CEOs I had a great experience.

ConantheCimmerian runs a great squad in the TSF pub chat channel.

And I own a chat channel TEAM LOKUN. The whole point of my channel is to improve squad formation and simply gather people who are great squad players. This channel is new still and I have not yet had the time to get everyone in the channel on the same page, but their are some great players in there.

Being flexible makes it funner

Drop the 49k sp it takes to buy an assault suit in your logi tree. They are 3k so who cares if they get grinded into paste by the protos, eventually you will learn to kill the protos and you will be doing so at an isk advantage.

Then why did you say you only have 1 infantry suit? Misinfo man misinfo.

Pfft Proto is for PCs which you won't be doing alone. You never need proto in pubs, and the only times it may make a difference (When you are fighting double stacked proto squads) it's unlikely the rest of your disorganized team will make it just ending in you losing a lot of isk in proto gear. ADV is good enough for pubs.

Scouts. Scouts are best alone or in pairs.

How do I cope with ****** teammates?
I start focusing on hacking and placing uplinks. More often then not, the worse my team is, the more **** there is for me to hack and the more WP I can get from uplinks.

How is hacking and placing uplinks not trying for the objective?

I may not be sprinting at it like a dumbass, but I'm putting in good spawn points, hacking CRUs, and HACKING UNGUARDED OBJECTIVES.

More often then not, I still contribute more than you useless frontliners who've never heard of defense.

After a while you no longer notice that there are other people on your side and start doing everything yourself.

Unless you find yourself at the zerg spearhead for Nyan, they are pretty silly about covering their butt. I find their heavies are the easiest to knife down.

They are easy to JLAV as well. It's like they never expect it.

Thanks to everyone's help, I successfully ran solo and didn't do completely awful against a squad of Nyain San. :D I feel so accomplished. :D

I even bothered to take a pic of it, because this is a major accomplishment for me (Lol, in a video game ). Yeah, pretty pathetic. ^^
