PLUS: there is no reason for them to call out that they will make one, beucase from that point the QQ will chance from "why no PS4 version so far" to "bring PS4 version out now!"

Would E3 be a better place to announce such a move or would FanFest be better?
Reason for FanFest: It is the pinnacle of CCP's achievements and visions, no better venue to announce DUST will move to the PS4
Reason for E3: It is later in the year (a month or two i think), thus giving CCP more time to work on it and be that much close till the launch date (assuming the launch date would remain the same whether they announced at FF or E3). Additionally, an E3 announcement would get more press from the gaming community as a whole, at least that is my guess, and thus would hopefully attract new/more players.

Dust should have been a PC game. I dont think you will ever see DUST on the PS4.
To be honest I am more bothered about them making this game great on the PS3. I hope they fix the bugs, work out glitches and errors - optimise the game so we get a nice smooth frame rate as much as possible. Then they can start adding what is needed to the game like a better NPE, a player market etc....That's before we even think about things like PVE. So no I doubt this game will be on PS4.

the problem is, is that due to the way dust works they don't need to produce a full blown PS4 version. just build a client compatible with the ps4 and use the existing graphics in the same way that the only difference between mac/pc/linux version of EVE is the boot client. majority of DUST is server side

Just imagine how many wonderful things you can do on PS4, ccp. We could finally play the famous video shown back in 2009 instead of this. Moreover the sooner the better! It would be a wonderful chance to make profit and enlarge the audience ( making Dust 514 one of the few F2P for PS4)

This game is pretty much as good as it will ever be on this engine. They can bring in a few new ideas and keep fiddling with the maths, but this is it. The code is so dirty that they really need to get a fresh start if they're ever going to prove to anybody that they give a **** and know what they're doing.

They have built their game empires on periodic titles that are released consistently every two years, there is truly no motivating reason to connect two systems together. Dust on the other hand serves a small, die-hard community, is an ever-updated and improving game, and plans to grow in both content and size, so it has plenty more reason to try and accomplish a cross-generation platform game. |

No reason for port it, there will be Blacklight: Retribution, Plamestide 2 and possibly Hawken. Why port unfinished/notpolished game full of bugs. First of all CCP needs to improve their optimization, look on games fro naughty dog, rockstar or suckerpunch. There is still power in Ps3 and if CCP told otherwise, its just maded excuse, nothing else.

I'm fairly certain that whether you play this game on a PS4, high-end PC gaming rig, or a goddamn megacluster supercomputer, the RR would still be OP, tankbush would still be unplayable, PC districts would still be locked, etc, etc.
Maybe we fix the core content of the game first before we waste time with moving the whole broken mess to another platform because "oooh it's more powerful" and "PvE will magically appear out of my unicorn's butt" because it's on PS4 now?

You obviously never played that XD I started clan in original PC one long time ago and level of custom is such awesome. You basicaly doing whole weapon just for yourself, if you saw something less, you propably played Blacklight> Tango down and not a Retribution.

QFT. The PS3 is the beta system. My bet is, they're going to get the lobby shooter rock solid, PC 2.0, player market, PvE, good balance, etc. Then, they'll stop developing new content for as long as it takes to port over to the PS4 solidly, combine it with a major marketing push, and relaunch with a truly excellent MMOFPS experience. That's at least a year or two away though.

I played blacklight on my ps4 and it was terrible Broken controls and very much P2W Dust felt silky smooth after playing blacklight |

Your point being?
1) Dust is not the first game I've played on a PS3. I know that there is a bit more than just hardware limitations going on with the framerate and lag issues here.
2) OK, so "oooh it's more powerful" and I get 60fps. Hooray! I can watch myself get spawncamped by HAV's that much more clearly.
Besides (MAYBE) getting better framerates, assuming CCP can get their act together, what else gets fixed? Especially if one considers the months of development time lost to porting the game?

Exactly. This game is basically a commercial failure. A big PS4 relaunch is CCP's best hope to right the ship and make it successful. It would be utterly wasted if they moved it over in it's current state.
