This is to help other form an opinion based on video evidence of the compared results.
93$ is what I paid for the SSD. My personal time is valuable. Anything that saves me time in the long run is valuable. Spending less time on load screens between games is valuable... to me. Just one thing: You should have gotten a hybrid SSD. They are cheaper then SSDs but with nearly identical performance on the ps3. For those with disposable income 30 bux is gas? for the truck.. Driving around looking for a specialty hardware place in the area that carries hybrids.. Because Future shop and Bestbuy doesn't... Its just a waste of energy for a couple bux... and superior technology anyway that could be reused on the ps4 if truly worried about.
Thank you. and 30 for gas in a truck? I can't remember the last time I paid less than 45 to fill my tank and I drive a Sedan. Where do you live???

I just installed a samsung 64g SLC SSD lastnight and what ive noticed is
faster load times all around for dust from pulling up your fittings to the star map
I was the first to spawn in EVERY game
with pubs I had anywhere from 17 seconds and up to waltz around the war barge
if you have media on your ps3 all of it loads 75% faster
one thing I do recommend doing is TEST your ps3 back up before the swap to do this just restore after your backup and see if it loads without error
mine didnt work so I have to re install the original HDD later today and get a new jump drive and try to backup again

More the 30 bux driving around... not to fill the diesel truck box tank... That's a PS4 worth each time
We have one of the cheaper rates in the world for gas... Got NOTHING on Brazil though of course

This might be true, but its not the full truth when it comes to gaming framerate, performance depends on how fast objects are moving in the game also.
If you have 30 fps, and something is moving on the screen "faster than 30 frames/s", you will see strange effects and/or skip frames, which will look laggy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagon-wheel_effect

I liked this but didn't test it, well in theory ssd will load up textures faster , almost instantly compared to HDD so it might be possible to notice a difference, as in smoother images due to the access speed of the SSD.
My example is based upon GTA 5 on SSD and Skyrim, in both cases it made frame rate more stable, thus this maybe considered as improving the game quality
All I can state from personal experience is that load times are faster in general on the PS3 with SSD, gamewise it'll access the data faster, load up the textures virtually instantly which cuts down the ingame timer time. So will it help the game in HIGH res to make it smoother? Good question needz testing
NB When I tested it with SDD , Game playwise I gained no advantage whatsoever apart from loading times and then I switched to a nice old 20GB HDD, cause of all the FATAL ERRORS DUST 514 Producess compared to ANY OTHER game I have on the PS3. The reason I put a basic 5400RPM 20GB HDD is because i'd rather have a 20GB HDD broken than my 750GB drive with all my digital gamez including all the best ps3 exclusives
Futhermore using a 20GB HDD allows me to use the PS3 "Restore File System" faster cause it's such a small drive with only DUST on it Even an SSD drive is very fast to do a PS3 Restore File System, install games etc due to access rate but tbh it will never be as fast as it is on a PS4 infact on the PS4 is a VERY noticable difference with installed digital games, instant access, loading times and seems better stabiity even in more demanding games like BF4 and Killzone SF

The human eye isn't able to perceive anything over 30 FPS anyway, so even if it did increase frame rates, your brain isn't capable of noticing anyway. That's a complete and utter lie.
540 frames is the limit, and that's because your brain says "fu@k it, same $hit".

What is the difference between SATA I, SATA II and SATA III? SATA I (revision 1.x) interface, formally known as SATA 1.5Gb/s, is the first generation SATA interface running at 1.5 Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 150MB/s.
SATA II (revision 2.x) interface, formally known as SATA 3Gb/s, is a second generation SATA interface running at 3.0 Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 300MB/s.
SATA III (revision 3.x) interface, formally known as SATA 6Gb/s, is a third generation SATA interface running at 6.0Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 600MB/s. This interface is backwards compatible with SATA 3 Gb/s interface.
SATA II specifications provide backward compatibility to function on SATA I ports. SATA III specifications provide backward compatibility to function on SATA I and SATA II ports. However, the maximum speed of the drive will be slower due to the lower speed limitations of the port.
HDD used in PS3 slim reads at 65 MB/s and BluRay at around 9 MB/s(all PS3 models use 2x speed BluRay drives). That sums up to 74 MB/s read speed, which is almost a half of SATA1. If you run solely from an SSD you will achieve these 150 MB/s, which is twice as fast as HDD + Bluray.
And I say that running from an SSD will grant you 150 MB/s because of SATA1 limitations, despite the fact that modern SSDs do have both read and write speed of over 500 MB/s
The Ps4 Uses a SATA 2 so with a SSD your Twice as fast in theory as the PS3. but still not hitting the SSD caps.

Yep this is why I put it on the PS4 even if SATA 2 and it's very noticable with INSTALLED DIGITAL Games For the PS3 i'd say get a 7200 RPM HDD or Hybrid cause they are both very close speed wise due to the SATA 1 Yep itz a shame the PS4 isn't SATA3 buti'm more than happy with the results i got with a SSD on the PS4 compared to the PS3

I know that is the claim, but obviously you don't play many PC games or games running at 60 fps, because there is a definite noticeable difference between 30 and 60 fps.Just as an experiment,go get the game Rage for PS3,play it,then get something like Batman Arkham Origins and play it.If you can't tell the difference in framerate then you should have your eyes checked.
Aside from that,Dust isn't even running at 30 frame in the first place, and more than likely never was.And if you are in that Gallente Research Facility,I would be surprised if it's even holding steady at 20 frames.

Hope it doesn't fail. It took over an hour to backup 24g. ok so I found my problem, it had something to do with the settings I had to restore default settings and create a new back up and everything worked fine this time around I hope you dont run into any 800 errors but if you do just note you can always swap the old hdd back in and it will read just fine to create a new backup granted you havent plugged it into any other ps3/computer
My backup process didn't work the first time. Had to google the error. But the restore worked fine for me.

The human eye isn't able to perceive anything over 30 FPS anyway, so even if it did increase frame rates, your brain isn't capable of noticing anyway.

30fps nonsense on an fps forum is an obvious troll. Time in the war barge, first on the ground, and instant texture loading is worth the price of the SSD. It may be a slight competitive advantage now, but only until everyone gets around to replacing those ancient 5400rpm disks.
