I'm about to upgrade my PS3 with Toshiba 128G SSD. I'm planning to capture before and after video of game performance. Anything in particular you guys want to see comparison of?

Here, let me rephrase.
I AM upgrading my PS3 to an SSD. whether or not it's worth it is an opinion. There are more games than dust, and more to do with a playstation than play games. I didn't ask anyones opinion whether it was worth it, I ask if anyone had anything they would like to see compared in a before an after video. This is to help other form an opinion based on video evidence of the compared results.
93$ is what I paid for the SSD. My personal time is valuable. Anything that saves me time in the long run is valuable. Spending less time on load screens between games is valuable... to me.

Frame rate comparison of the video source from the two?
Not sure what you mean by video source from the two. I don't think there will be a framerate difference. The game runs in memory, not off the SSD. But I will attempt and make mention of this.

Good question. My video will not have this. I did do a little reading before deciding to upgrade. The answer as to whether it's worth is seems to be "depends on the game" the skyrim(sp?) issue I read was both due to the way it saved and that it used disk cache so supplement memory, which dust does not do. The benifits from what I've read are seen in load times all around, update speeds, an in Dust, load times between games and spawn time in the opening of a battle. No one has done a video on this, so that is the point of the effort.

Dust is all I use my PS3 for now so under $50 seems fine.
I would like to see spawn time
any hitches eg. others spawning in around you or orbital strikes
vehicle rendering with respect to how infantry see them
enemy rendering when you you look through your weapon scope
respect.
Check. Thanks you.

Just one thing: You should have gotten a hybrid SSD. They are cheaper then SSDs but with nearly identical performance on the ps3. For those with disposable income 30 bux is gas? for the truck.. Driving around looking for a specialty hardware place in the area that carries hybrids.. Because Future shop and Bestbuy doesn't... Its just a waste of energy for a couple bux... and superior technology anyway that could be reused on the ps4 if truly worried about.
Thank you. and 30 for gas in a truck? I can't remember the last time I paid less than 45 to fill my tank and I drive a Sedan. Where do you live???

THANKS! will absolutely test my backup. Hope it doesn't fail. It took over an hour to backup 24g.

Honestly, the OP can spend his money on whatever he wants, cause it's his money.

It took over an hour to backup 24g. ok so I found my problem, it had something to do with the settings I had to restore default settings and create a new back up and everything worked fine this time around I hope you dont run into any 800 errors but if you do just note you can always swap the old hdd back in and it will read just fine to create a new backup granted you havent plugged it into any other ps3/computer
My backup process didn't work the first time. Had to google the error. But the restore worked fine for me.
