For further information - The enemies (Can barely call them that) the VICTIMS were not AFK. Yes many did leave during the course of the battle. I would say I saw at least 5 characters leave the battle.
They were not afk, they got farmed. To be honest that was a mild match compared to others believe it or not! |

i was never a fan of ambush to begin with. objective game modes are a little more fun. until u come across a completely one sided match.
if only a few of those blue berries would have smartened up and traveled a ways away from the enemy hotspots. and spawned some railgun glass cannons down. with a missile tank or 2.
might have been possible to turn that match around.
as to the av thing.
dont just use the swarm launcher. combine it with some av nades or fluxes if combating shield tanks. and pick the moment to attack. primarily when hardeners are down. which some of those modules could use some changing to where we lose the perma hardened vehicles.
im actually fine with tanks as they are currently.
when using av the player has to be a little more tactical with where they r firing from what they r using and such.
its not that difficult to successfully use it though. |

Spawn locations have been a problem since this game was in beta over a year ago. It's as if CCP never even pkayed an FPS before making Dust, and then they did like an hour of research before trying. The tactics and weapons in his game are indicative of someone who sucks at FPS's and got to make their own rules, which I honestly think is what happened. I've never played an FPS that required so little gun game.
Anyway, Dust can be a fun game sometines, but when d-bags exploit such ****** tactics to pad their KDR's, it's honestly not fun for anyone but them. I was in a pretty big clan in MAG, and even though we were all on foot, sometimes we would have too many good players on at once, and it was just such a lack of challenge that we would have to split into two groups and join different games so there would be some kind of competition against the enemy team.
Corps that tank spam and run rail rifles... I don't get it. It's like knowing you would win every hand in poker, but get no real money for it, nothing that would actually improve your quality of life. Would you bother wasting your time to play? Would it actually be fun? Maybe to people with no life whatsoever... |

We do tend to have and attract more seasoned players. This can lead to the opposing team getting stomped. This happens whenever a group of good players get together and work as a TEAM. Carbon 7 is very focused on team based play, which is what the game is about (we are recruiting if you want to stomp people like we do). When a more seasoned team, that has better gear, goes up against a team that is new and inexperienced...
We usually run 2 tankers, a drop-ship and 3 infantry per squad. In this particular match, we were playing with a Tank Corp and were farming ISK. Yes, it means sometimes we cause the other team to cry salty, bacon flavored tears. However, we are not a bunch of Redline campers worried about our K/D. We actively pursue the objectives, placing our expensive gear in harms way. If a team of players, all with 15-20+ million SP decide to work together towards a common goal...new players are going to get stomped. Ever play Eve? What happens to new pilots? They ride the r@pe train my friend...chooo chooo mother F'er!
We win, we lose, we spam tanks, we proto stomp...but at the end of the day it is a game based around team based play and who will wager more ISK to bring the best gear possible to win the match. Go big, or go home! |

Play another mode +1 for best response and op ambush is a completely broken mode until ccp removes vehicles from ambush scrubs like the ones shown here will continue to do this.
tank spamming while solo in ambush is despicable and i personally feel bad for running the occasional blaster soma in ambush..to run a coordinated vehicle squad in ambush is to take the tag scrub and forever attach it to your breast

Well guess what? we infantry are losing twice the amount of ISK that all tankers lost prior to the change. Tanks ARE op and AV is a joke. Just like the tankers who sit here flaming as soon as someone says something about it. Then you sit there and say, "GET GUD" or "Spec into Forge" or whatever... Go eff yourself. Why should I have to completely change my siuts to compete against a bunch of no skill trollers? Buff AV 'nades or get rid of them. Nerf shield/armour hardners, re buff swarms. Oh, Oh also, a quick fix for ambush would be to have respawn a set distance away from cranberries. Rather than have you spawn where the highest saturation of teammates are like it is now. |

So? The other team wasn't that great either, look at the scores. It's looks like the blind fought the deaf in that match. You only had three guys go double digit kills in the entire match.
If one highly skilled player would have entered that match...he would have had a very nice payout.

That match consisted of the 6 tanks running around murdering reds as they spawned in. The rest of us on foot barely had anything to do. By the time any of us got to any location where gun fire was happening all of the reds were dead.
About 5 or 6 reds left the game. They were in turn replaced with new players that came into the game and also got farmed.
The map was Manus Peak. It was quite a large map for ambush. What that picture does not show you is the bottom set of reds that probably died 10-20 times (The ones brave enough to stay in the match)
Also I would like to hear your ideas on how one good player could even do a damn thing vs 6+ tanks in ambush.
Like I said, I was fighting both with and against that group of tanks in ambush for about an hour or two. The best I managed to do was go 5/1 in a match. Yes I do always use forge gun in ambush. The best I managed was to fire some forge at tanks, eventually one of the tankers came up to the hill i was on, he got out of his tank to shoot me but I killed him and stole his tank. From there I went to try to kill one of the other red tanks and I got close but I was quickly ganged up on by the other 5 tankers. |

Yeah well I actually tried to put spawn places that my teammates could spawn away from the tanks so maybe we could manage a kill, but I'm not an anti-armor and my AV Grenades can't do much when three tanks shoot at you all at once. I don't really remember seeing ANYONE from the reds out of their tanks or cars getting out during the match. So yeah, you go guys! Good job staying comfortable into your tanks and right above the spawn uplinks to kill any player that spawned there and didn't even get a chance to see who the **** was shooting at them. I don't understand what's the big surprise anyways that this ambush could be the worse, most of corps don't give a **** to train new people or tell them what sorta dropsuit combinations they should use and so on. And I'm gonna remind you this is just a game, so don't make such a big deal out of it. **** happens, get used. |

Crazy masochist that I am, Ambush is my primary game mode when I play solo. Quick, cheap isk where I can grind out the sp cap fairly rapidly. And when Ambush is good, it is Very Good. But I've been in sessions where I was q-synced with Duna for an entire night and Christ, it is not fun. It needs to be changed.
Here's the issue; tanks do everything. They scan you down, thy speed towards you,get amongst your spawn, and cause carnage. Team is wiped. Tank waits, drives around, mops up stragglers. Then it scans, finds the re spawned group, and hits them again. Rinse and repeat this with five other tanks until game over. Did the other team call in tanks too? No prob, you got yours first, and the bolas signposts where that tank is dropping and doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry to set it down, so just mosey on up to it and trash it. Easy.
It's crazy to ask groups of randoms to come with damped AV fits by default, but then again....if we all did that, it would probably work. For about five minutes. Which is the time it takes for the opposing teams twelve remaining infantrymen to obliterate you with rr. Yay. Points for trying, I guess?
Maps, scanners, no natural counters to AV. They ruin the mode. Best map for Ambush? The bridge one. Why? Only one tank down that bridge at a time, baby. Remote explosives to to town on that map, and the infantry get to really tear the place up and have fun.

One problem: large blasters have to good a RoF.
Nerf that and things would be tons better. Otherwise, mil tanks need to be made weaker. Money should not be a factor in running tanks. Protostomp corps can fund tanks. The only people you'd be hurting by making tanks more expensive is ppl like me who play solo and actually want to skill into tanks and fight other tanks.

The most fun I've had in Dust is a good Ambush game, and with a modification or two it can be brought back to it's prime. All that needs to happen is either tanks being limited to two per team or an infantry only gamemode introduced and Ambush is suddenly back to its prime as the most enjoyable mode in Dust, at least until PVE is added. |

This is so true! The bridge map is generally fun to fight on even if one team has a ton of tanks. The bridge gives you somewhere to hold. The problem is if you get caught up near the top of the map in that small building, you are effectively cornered in there and the only way to leave is if everyone dies at once - that does not happen often.

Yea I would like an infantry only ambush mode. That would be great fun. It would just be a case of - tanks fight it out in normal mode, and infantry in this new mode. Sounds great. |
