This happened yesterday. Well to be more clear this type of thing happened for a good hour or two that I played ambush until finally there was a city map with actual cover.

The enemy did not get even one single kill. CCP this type of thing is certainly pushing new players away from the game. AV needs to be buffed. Spawns need to seriously be reworked. The only guy on the enemy team to receive any warpoints got 650 WP I assume from uplinks.
I just thought I would show this as it was the worst stomp I have ever seen in my year + of playing DUST 514. (Every member on my side above me was in a tank fyi)

Yep manus peak. Yes it was that way for a good hour or two. I was both against them and put with them. It made for boring games on both sides. Its ridiculous. |

I have played ambush matches for about a year. Granted there have always been problems, most noteably with the poor spawn locations and systems. Regardless though it has never been as painful as it has been since 1.7 landed.
Only very occasionally now do you get decent good honest fights in ambush. This used to be the norm.
CCP Please can we can an infantry only ambush? OR please do something. |

Its not a hate thread. Its also certainly not specific to your corp or even DUNA and his corp (Even though he is notorious for this) it is a balance issue.
Come on dude look at that. 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , etc.... It is totally wrong and is losing CCP customers by the bucket load. (CCP has enough problems with dust as it is) |

I know right... :( Anyone who says that is either A. Talking out of their arse or B. trying to protect their win toys.
Its embarrassing how low people have got. AV does need a buff. The lower end standard grade AV more so than the others but they ALL need some sort of buff. |

I'm sorry but that is nonsense. Even on Battlefield 3 on the smallest of maps with 64 players in deathmatch there is no spawn trapping like there is in DUST.
Spawns need to be put in better locations, they also need to spawn blues AWAY from red dots. Basically tweaks and a better spawn system would be all it would take. I do also believe map design is a bit of a problem in this regard. That is something CCP will have to learn about through their mistakes but it would not be a major problem, again just tweaks and changes.

For further information - The enemies (Can barely call them that) the VICTIMS were not AFK. Yes many did leave during the course of the battle. I would say I saw at least 5 characters leave the battle.
They were not afk, they got farmed. To be honest that was a mild match compared to others believe it or not! |

You have no idea.
That match consisted of the 6 tanks running around murdering reds as they spawned in. The rest of us on foot barely had anything to do. By the time any of us got to any location where gun fire was happening all of the reds were dead.
About 5 or 6 reds left the game. They were in turn replaced with new players that came into the game and also got farmed.
The map was Manus Peak. It was quite a large map for ambush. What that picture does not show you is the bottom set of reds that probably died 10-20 times (The ones brave enough to stay in the match)
Also I would like to hear your ideas on how one good player could even do a damn thing vs 6+ tanks in ambush.
Like I said, I was fighting both with and against that group of tanks in ambush for about an hour or two. The best I managed to do was go 5/1 in a match. Yes I do always use forge gun in ambush. The best I managed was to fire some forge at tanks, eventually one of the tankers came up to the hill i was on, he got out of his tank to shoot me but I killed him and stole his tank. From there I went to try to kill one of the other red tanks and I got close but I was quickly ganged up on by the other 5 tankers. |

Here's the issue; tanks do everything. They scan you down, thy speed towards you,get amongst your spawn, and cause carnage. Team is wiped. Tank waits, drives around, mops up stragglers. Then it scans, finds the re spawned group, and hits them again. Rinse and repeat this with five other tanks until game over. Did the other team call in tanks too? No prob, you got yours first, and the bolas signposts where that tank is dropping and doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry to set it down, so just mosey on up to it and trash it. Easy.
It's crazy to ask groups of randoms to come with damped AV fits by default, but then again....if we all did that, it would probably work. For about five minutes. Which is the time it takes for the opposing teams twelve remaining infantrymen to obliterate you with rr. Yay. Points for trying, I guess?
Maps, scanners, no natural counters to AV. They ruin the mode. Best map for Ambush? The bridge one. Why? Only one tank down that bridge at a time, baby. Remote explosives to to town on that map, and the infantry get to really tear the place up and have fun.
This is so true! The bridge map is generally fun to fight on even if one team has a ton of tanks. The bridge gives you somewhere to hold. The problem is if you get caught up near the top of the map in that small building, you are effectively cornered in there and the only way to leave is if everyone dies at once - that does not happen often.

Yea I would like an infantry only ambush mode. That would be great fun. It would just be a case of - tanks fight it out in normal mode, and infantry in this new mode. Sounds great. |

Well I had to laugh earlier on - it was an ambush match and the usual tank spammers were there doing there thing. Although this time they got too complacent and called in tanks just behind the hill from the team I was on.
We managed to kill the HAV pilots before they could enter their tanks and we proceeded to steal at least 2 tanks and then stomp them with their own machines! It was glourious!
Regardless - this sort of imbalance continues to occur in ambush. I have actually had a few really good infantry battles in ambush too the last few days. I wish that was the norm..... :( |
