hahaha yeah dust will always technically be a 'beta' same as EVE. as much as everyone keeps pining for respecs CCP have made it very adamantley clear there wont be any more full respecs. at eve vegas though they did confirm that they have been discussing 'respecs for AUR' ideas for the future which shoudl give folk a little something to dream about. as it is atm though you'll NOT get a full respec

I'll be royally disappointed if we don't get one. I'd definitely quit. I don't care about a weapon respec, but I require a dropsuit respec. I didn't spec into my dropsuit for them to change the reason I specced into it.

If they DO decide to change X Weapon Proficiency to only give it a boost against what it is good at (Blasters-Rails-Lasers against Shields, Projectiles-Explosives against Armor), then a refund becomes a certainty. If Weaponry IS refunded, it will because the Assault Suits are now loosely tied to a weapon rather than rifles getting tweaked and the Mass Driver getting more direct/splash damage. Dropsuit Upgrades is 50/50 to me. I go both ways when it comes to listening to the reasons for and against. Basically goes like this: "5% armor/shield and scan profile is useful regardless of what suit you have" against refund and "If I could have been a Caldari Heavy, I wouldn't have been Amarr meaning I wouldn't have put so much points into maxing my armor skills" for refund.

And although I really don't like the idea of a skill giving a bonus to a specific weapon type, as it decreases unique aspect of the game making it more important to match a suit to a weapon than mixing and matching to preferred playstyle, I really don't think it is fair that someone with low SP skilled into the Assault Rifle (Gallente) or Scrambler Rifle (Amarr), because they only have the SP for 1 gun yet the most optimal is inaccessible. Same with SP in Scrambler Pistol (Amarr) and Flaylock Pistol (Minmatar) because they are releasing the Bolt Pistol (Caldari) and Ion Pistol (Gallente). If someone else made a competent space mmo eve would be in trouble given their general HTFU attitude with their fans. All I generally here about CCP tells me they think as long as they keep jamming square pegs into circular holes, eventually it should fit. Which pretty much sums up their current success rate with producing games other than eve.

People spec into the role they spec into to have fun. They can't have fun if their role is changed and is no longer fun. For example, I enjoy running Laser Weaponry on my Amarr Assault. It's the reason I got the suit, and it's what makes the game fun for me. If they change that bonus, to something not involving Laser Weaponry, it makes the suit not as fun, and therefore takes away my reason to play the game. If they give a respec to Dropsuit Command, it's almost required that they respec Upgrades as well. Some people that put points into Caldari Asasult, might want to play the Gallente Heavy. You can't run a Gallente Heavy with all Shield Skills to 5 and nothing in Armor Skills. As for weaponry, it's a tricky one. I'd say MAYBE Weaponry, as some people chose their weapons based on their suit cough Gallente Heavies don't use Nova Knives cough. This should be the final respec. Any choices beyond this point are final, because now we have everything here. HOWEVER, if more sweeping changes as big as this one are to arrive, I expect CCP to deal out a respec as needed. It's just incredibly illogical to change slot counts and bonuses, WHILE adding new ones, and not give out a needed respec. Like I said earlier, not giving a respec would be taking the fun out of the game, for most people. Before I get the certain comment we all know and love... We can't make and live with a decision we didn't have in the first place.
