new scout needs help.

hidden noob Algintal Core Gallente Federation 0	Posted - 2014.01.14 02:43:00 - [1] - Quote i have manage to get a basic gallente scout suit fit with nova knives and a rail rifle i can also fit either an active scanner or a miltia drop uplink. i have been reading the forums and yes i know that the rail rifle is op but i only started last night and need all the help i can get. i have been able to kill several people with the basic knives but often end up with one kill and 10 deaths. though the use of the active scanner has enabled me to go positive. my issue seems to be that people know im there. and with chanrged knives i cant get close enough. and that you have been scanned message isnt helping haha. are there any groups out there that train new scouts? this game is good fun im just finding it very hard to get to grips with.

Get out of scouts... they're about to remove them from the game. I got my hand around the pistol grip, and the safety's off.

I plan of going scout when cloaks come out. I have good plans for them. Anyways. Always flank. Dampen up so scanners cant see. Minmatar Assault. Sidearm King. SMG's and Pistols. Melting armour, and blowing heads off. +60

Another thing would be your dampening skill, at least 3. And biotic skills for sure. Secondly, if you're going to use knives, You need to train them to 5. The Zns are only good I find if they are on a Minnie scout. And lastly, you can look up the channel "Scouts United". You will definitely get help in there. If you don't get any help I will try to look you up and I will help you.

Komodo Jones Chaotik Serenity 316	Posted - 2014.01.14 03:43:00 - [24] - Quote Got my ass kicked recently by a scout with nova knives and a duvolle, ya know how he won? he pissed me off and I got stupid, realize that you're faster and harder to detect than other suits and use that to you're advantage, let them come to you and then ambush them, he wasn't even packing a scanner, actually got me a couple times with remote explosives. i finished that match 1-12, and I used full proto craziness a couple times, 1000 health and a gun that should melt scouts but i just couldn't kill him. Shotgun alone requires Weaponry 4 which would eat up a large chunk of a starting players 500k SP. I might have to try the armour rep and fold and try the scanner yeah weapony 4 is out of my reach atm. any skills i have atm are one or two. id love to use a shotgun but its to much sp atm. and im to easily spotted. and i hadnt relised that there is an incoming scout nerf. so i think im not going to put any sp into weapons till we know excalty what that is. though fluxs sound fun i die a lot killing red equipment on the ground. and id also like to try remote explosives. but i dont know if we are going to even have a nade slot soon. so very confusing haha.

In a war game, avoiding fighting is far more exciting than actually fighting. I've fit one of my scouts to be super useful at non-combat stuff, but it's hopeless in a straight up fight. Trying to avoid being seen can get pretty tense. We used to have a time machine

If you're particularly wanting to use knives, then your longterm goal, is to get at least damping 3, ASAP, then eventually, range, if youre not going to be reliant on scanners. But for now, you're going to need to run with 2xmilitia damps. ALL. THE. TIME. This will get you under the ADV scanners, which is what most people use. Even in a plain ol' light suit, 2xmilitia is good enough. But NOT 1xmilitia damp. You'd need an ADV damp for that. If you are in a battle where you still get scanned... then you best stay away, 'cause you're up against a pro squad that will mow down scouts mercilessly. Yes, this means your armor is "paper thin". Then mix and match the biotics and scanning modules taht you wish to have until you find a fit that works for you. use a scanner or RE's, flux grenades are really good for scouts instead of locus unless you like to really chuck your grenades, use a longer ranged weapon if you use Nova knifes (I'd go with the Combat rifle, STD or adv. no use using PROTO, as you don't need it.). As for moving around, don't stick around someone that can get picked up on a scanner, flank first, and don't charge opponents Also,.If you pull out those Nova Knifes, and you charge, if you miss, and you can, run away. if you can't, stick to the opponent like glue, and knife away. Otherwise, you're dead. Shotty and Nova Knifes are stupid, don't do that....... That's all I got.
