The only way it would make sense is if the minja suit base Db was decreased so that dampeners were considered to be built in. I am really curious to see slot load out. If everything stays the exact same on the suit, and now they only have knife and laughable cupcake melee it will become a complete joke.

I respectfully disagree, I have wanted cloaking in the game since CCP first mentioned it would be possible in DUST. Cloaking is a very real very annoying part of EVE lore and it should certainly be just as much a pain in our backsides here in dust.
Now I do agree that I hope light suits are not just relegated to cloak work only. I do hope they still have other viable roles. At the moment though this is all speculation. |

CCP hasn't exactly been great at making balance decisions so far. Just because it would seem it's an obvious decision doesn't mean it will happen.

But then what would be the point of cloaking? They will still see red chevrons running about the map?
I mean if they rework scout base Db so that it naturally bypasses most scanners that would be ok otherwise I just think.... ehh!? Cloaked = totally invisible - you cant detect me. Otherwise its not a cloak in my book. |

Somewhere deep in these forums are jokes about invisible logis. It can't possibly be a piece of equipment, but they said it could be fitted on other suits with extreme sacrifice. I think it is a weapon slot. It wouldn't make sense (given the logistics bonus) to be an equipment piece unless Logi bonus ignored the cloak. I think it will be a non-lethal scrambler rifle, where there is a charge up time and heat.

Someday, I'll be able to use the cloak to:
-Sneak into mining sites, assassinate miners, sabotage their gear and steal their resources. -Infiltrate enemy hq, eavesdrop on high level meetings, and sell info to top bidder. -survey enemy outpost guard rotations, note weak points in perimeter defense, and sell data to enemies.
until then I'll be one of the four people on my team trying to win the match while the other twelve try to knife each other while invisible.

Well they nerfed my range (not yet) Luckily gal scout also gets 5% reduction to profile as well so there is no loss except 25% of range. Every other scout is being forced to use a cloak which I find unfair but whatever.
The end result is we will have to see what the new item stats are. Obviously with the given item stats most of the new (outside of scout) racial bonuses are OP. However I think they'll nerf the items and buff certain others.
I am hoping: Scanner Precision Nerf Scout Profile Buff Scout Range Buff Small Scout HP buff ( it will be impossible to keep up with assaults otherwise )
But I know better, I know it will not turn out like I hope, I will be nerfed out of existence.

It's like scouts are being designed to NEED the cloak rather than just be able to support it. Scouts are losing profile reduction so every scout other than Gallente will NEED the cloak to keep up.

Not Ecco location. It travels around objects the same principle as sonar. Also prolonged exposure to X and gamma rays will kill you. If you are useing a frequency with a long enough wave length to pa through walls it will also quite easily pass through a human. Have you ever looked at an X-ray picture? As well, you would have to have some pretty amazing equipment, necessary to between what part of the wave is being bounced of the wall and what part of the wave has passed through and bounced off another target then passed through the wall again. Given that the target you are looking for is much less dense than the one you are attempting to bypass... Good luck with that.

Sonar is Echo Location. You send out a pulse and the time it takes to get back determines the distance to the object. Bouncing around corners screws up that calculation.
As for the exposure, we are clones. Our bodies are disposable. The forge gun is supposed to release enough radiation to cause long term problems but it doesn't matter since we can swap out bodies long before it becomes a problem.
And I already noted that EM radar waves able to pass through walls will also pass the the body.
Anyways, the point is moot. As IWS explained, the scanner is detecting EM waves emitted by our suits (mainly due to our shields).

We don't know exactly how the cloak field will work yet, scouts aren't necessarily going to have to become campers.
We didn't know how PC was going to work either and you can read my thread 2 months before it came out and I tell whats going to happen. Pretty sure I also called the SP sink in uprising before it happened. Also I just this is ccp and they mess everything up
