350 eHP? You might as well go full scout if your so concerned about scanners. As a scout I rarely get scanned, & when I do I just throw on a basic dampener & keep it moving. If you want to avoid scanners you should be weak just like us scouts. Seems to be working as intended.

It is to powerful. All this game is now is just "find the red dot on your radar". Everyone pretty much always knows where everyone else is. It's boring. And the victory always goes to the the team with the fewest noobs on their side, who don't understand how active scanners will get them kill very quickly.

The active scanner is killing the fittings variety in this game. If you're not constantly running, AT LEAST, a suit that is below 36 dB odds are you're going to get rolled, or at the very least go ISK negative for the match, unless you are running in fittings that are 20k ISK or less.

So, outside of running junk std fitting, pretty much your only other option is to dampen. Well what's wrong with that you say. Well I'm glad you asked:

In order to get a medium suit to beat the adv scanner requires complex skills and a complex mod, which will put a med suit at 33.75 dB. So, first off, we are asking noobs to, before they do anything else skill wise, skill dampening to Lv5 and imediately start using complex dampeners on ever suit they fit if they don't want to keep getting rolled. But it doesn't stop there. In order, to counter the active scanner one must give up a vital low slot, thus drastically decreasing ones overal ability to survive. On the other hand the active scanner user must make no such sacrifices. With a minamal skill investment (Lv3 to get the adv scanner) you are easily on your way. All you have to give up to use the AS is one equipment slot. Easy enough if your a logi, you won't even notice. If you are an assault, so you'll have to look for a nanohive in order to rearm in the field - no big deal.

Scanners have no real draw back for the user. And to beat the scanner costs you the abillity to survive well. And not beating the scanner is even worse.

So there you have it scanner 514.

Your OP gave examples of assault fits trying to avoid scanners. You made no mention that you were a scout in you original post. BTW, what lvl scout & lvl dampening are you at.

I can see that know. but based solely on what you wrote, it is not clear what suit you were wearing. & as a proto Gal scout you are in the best possible situation in regards to AS's. So I don't quite see your point. If you skilled up properly you can easily avoid all but 1 scanner(that no one uses) w/ a single basic dampener. & still have 3 low slots & with your passive scan range you don't even need to use a scanner yourself. I run a Min scout & see no problem w/ sacrificing 1 low to remain unseen.

He has stated multiple times in this thread that scanners don't bother him.

He has also stated multiple times that he is a carebear who wants them nerfed so that newbies don't insta quit the game because not only can everyone else always see them, it's a hefty SP investment for them to be able to counter it in any way, either with dampeners or with their own scanner.

A medium suit should not beat a scanner. That is what the scout suit is for.There are counters, you just have to train towards it.
