its actually the way it should be, as a role in needs to be affordable, the issue is AV isn`t acting as a role as in its not being able to form its circle of the vehicle > infrantry, infantry > AV, AV > vehicles. it was an on going issue in privies builds (you CAN go and find them through forum history or thinking back). AV were doing there job destroying vehicles left and right although hated by vehicles its required, what wasn`t required was the cost of the vehicles, you can`t have strong AV and costly vehicles, that being said you can`t have cheap vehicles and weak AV. cheap vehicles (so its affordable as a role, LIKE any other role) and strong AV to keep the circle of battle life and to keep their role fed is needed, also lets be serious PRO infantrry gear can do asmuch damage as a tank (or the same thing just a squad of PRO or tanks) could do to infrantry, remember the infamous 'PROTO STOP" threads? why shouldn`t a anti infrantry role be that good against infrantry? well answer to that is becuse of a weak conuter to it but the counter to it isn`t going back to the wheel, it was only like 2 builds ago yet you complain that CCP is repeating itself... face it your doing that! AV needs a buff not vehicles need to cost more, that being said that its good to note that vehicles don`t have all there type of gear and the ones they do it only has 1 category of an average of 3-4 also the huals are STD, balancing AV needs to wait till vehicles are done or we are comparing PRO HMGs to STD assualt roles right before we add the rest of assualt (not real, its theorietrical, assualt has its STD-PRO). also note AV vehicles are better then AV since AV can`t beat AV vehicles since they can`t even beat vehicles that are anti infrantry so I put AV vehicles in the vehicle catigory since that makes sense, AV infrantry needs a buff (the only AV vehicle in need of a buff are small railguns). |

Tanks are cheap already, Nick. Huge price dive since 1.6, even more so when FW gear is taken into account. CCP did their classic MO on balancing:
Player base: "Tanks are too expensive and too vulnerable to AV. They need some love. Please make them cheaper, tougher, or nerf AV!"
CCP: "Got it. Cheaper, tougher and nerf AV. That sounds balanced to us!"

buff AV as I said in the OP, let them eat cake? no LET THEM SPAM TANKS then, the AVs (being buffed) will gain so much for their role and the tankers will go bankrupt becuse you won`t be able to do stomp tactics. in the last build vehicle users had to bubble rap their vehicle becuse they could loose it easily against AV, THATS GOOD thats the circle but it costing them everything makes no sense. A tank will do as good against infantry with an AV guy hunting him down asmuch as an AV guy would do against tanks while being hunted down by an anti infrantry. also theres the concern of 1 AV against a squad of tanks, well how well do you aspect an infrantry squad could do against 1 anti infrantry, yes the swarm tactic works in all books but there will plenty of AV, chances are more then there are tanks (just like last build infact!!!). so its not like that at all. |

also if they added damage points for WP when giving damage to vehicles it would make alot of sense, so even if the vehicle escapes with a fuel mod or becuse your just 1 man YOU gain for YOUR role, it shouldn`t require a role to be a squad, even if you are outmatched you are doing your role right? so you should be rewarded not punished by not playing the current numbers game. |

It takes 2 weeks on a new character to get into a non militia tank.
You don't need free tanks to be effective. A tank is a tank, and it should be priced accordingly.

Question to pose, whats wrong with 'tank spam'? What's wrong with people using more than 1 tank a match? I expect tanks to be a constant threat.
We need to fix the AV-Tank balance so that AV can be run effectively as role, as a constant role. We want squads to be encouraged to run with at least 1 AV available AT ALL TIMES. We don't want days of old wherd you just ran to a supply depot, changed blow up tank, change back.

Just for perspective it costs ~$20,000 to fully outfit a soldier and a basic M1 abrams costs ~$8,000,000
Meaning that just a HAV hull should cost 400x that of a fully outfitted dropsuit. Tanks shouldn't be cheap throw aways that can be spammed in pubs, they should be expensive game changers that corps pay for to turn the tide of a battle in PC. Tanking should be a secondary skill after having already skilled into a dropsuit and weapon. Making corps that have tankers have an advantage over those that don't. It becomes a specialized skill that corps will pay top dollar for when winning is so important that cost isn;t an issue.
Think about it... regular working class guys can buy and afford rifles, countries buy tanks.

Tanks are still not cheap enough that losing 1 tank a match puts me positive, especially when considering the ninja nerf to match payouts. My cheapest fit is still ~150K with all STD everything If I want to fly my dropship there goes all my ISK from the past 5 matches because with railguns being stupidly OP, it likely won't survive a whole match.
What it comes down to is that you still cannot profit in STD tanks. You just can't. In an all STD tank I loose one nearly every match and if I lose one I'm likely to lose another to the same scrubby ****. Militia rails and jihad jeeps and being both AV and V I know you AV scrubs can kill tanks with swarms and forges. The get good scrub **** doesn't apply here. Anyone at any skill level should be able to profit at any role at STD, anyone who doesn't agree is an all infantry closed minded scrub and doesn't have a valid opinion to me or any vehicle operators anyways.

My tanks are still 465k a piece. Not exactly cheap and easy to run once a game if Im under fire all the time. I play carefully with my tanks and keep them alive. Just cause infantry are chasing me like a pack of wild dogs doesnt mean they should get my bumper as a consolation prize for their tenacity. I love it when they rush up on me and my heavy turret gunner hops out on them though. And he can hop right back in if need be.

That's funny. I made millions in profit this week in MLT and STD tanks. Also, the payouts suck because tankers are inert and are too lazy to hack or drop uplinks. My wallet history is full of pubs paying me 300k-400k ISK with ~2000-3000 WP in low level tanks. I slowly make ISK in STD tanks and make tons in MLT tanks. If you're losing a lot, squad with other tankers; it's extremely hard to lose ISK in a full tank squad in STD tanks.
I have no problem funding endless tank spam. They are more than cheap enough.
