can someone tell me why it is so hard to kill tanks, because i am confused. Maybe because you were fighting bad tankers in your pub match? i dunno what's the standard. they ran with their hards down, and couldn't escape. i can't help u if u can't kill a tank. O_o i's not hard. it cost me 160k isk while i destroyed 700-1 mil You do recognize that they are nerfing your speed and nitrous % at downtime tonight.(CCP never hotfixes..and if they are between patches it means it was really bad) I want balance I really do. but this aint it man. The best thing would have been for them to get closer than they did with balance. just making this all take longer before i start getting in good matches again. They're doing it because infantry wants them to, just like it took them a day to fix the MLT NOS module. Took them a week to fix the bugged tank turret angles when Uprising first launched.

tanks with mods down are extremely weak
i do think webifiers should be added to balance the speed of tanks thou. You can get over 300 hp per second with a resistance module on their as well, and usually a nos. Only a bad tank is going to stick around once his hardeners are almost down. MUDFLAPS taught me that to be a good tanker, you always have to move, never sit around. You get in, kill some ****, and bounce, always always move. In the time it takes to charge and fire, most tanks have already healed around 1000 HP, the majority of the damage you just dealt, assuming hardeners are down. Only bad tankers die to anything but concentrated and coordinated prototype AV, and all matches now devolve into who's tank swarm comes out on top. It's stupid, and you are all welcome to it, but I'd rather watch my idiot blueberries die horrific deaths and quit the game than chase around these tanks all game for literally no reason at all. It's not what I signed up for, and I'll have no part of it. oh I remember MUDFLAPS mcgillicutty (AKA SHTHEAD mcgillicutty), he was my tanking mentor and tanking buddy back in 1.1 and 1.2. he honestly was probably the best tanker in dust. never saw someone better at it then him. |

What killed the vehicle? a dropship with militia turrets
Can you easily escape dropships with milita turrets? yes you can
Why did the tank die to a militia turret? because the pilot is bad and has no skill
I can tell you skills, but you dont automatically acquire them, you have to learn by doing and from experience

This patch has made it hard to tell who's a good tanker and who's just being lifted by the mechanics.
Honestly though, standard tanks are almost close to fine. Swarms, plasma cannons, and AV nades all need a slight buff, tank speed needs to be watched more, and the price point needs to raise a bit. A well fit standard tank should be around 700k to field, a well fit drophip around 500k, and an all militia tank should never ever ever be cheaper than 150k
Price is a huge part of the balance issue. It's one thing for rich players to be able to spam vehicles, it's another thing entirely for a day one player to be able to spam vehicles.

I was just to ignorant in the past to avoid them and now that I have experience as one, I feel bad for them. they went through a lot of crap till 1.7.
im glad they got the buff but they should nerf down militia tanks a bit so there is a reason to skill into it. what pisses me off is the tanks spam. they need to add separate team vehicle quotas to keep the spam down. limit it to 2-3 tanks per team. and as for the price, they need to bump up militia costs. back in 1.6 I had a tank that costed 2 mill. 170k for 1 tank? hah! |
