The Yulai Convention is pretty much analogous to the Geneva Convention. So...yeah. The Gallente have just been caught red handed breaking international law on a breathtaking scale. If you picked Gallente because you thought they were the good guys you should probably consider switching to Caldari and fighting for the side that represents self-determination and the rule of law.

And the Federation could not simply allow the Caldari to leave. Doing so would have weakened the control of the central federal bureaucracy. No. When you look back at it, it was for the best. If we wouldn't have fought them, we would be weaker today. The war modernized our militaries faster than anybody could have imagined. If both of our empires didn't have strong warriors than we would have gotten overrun by the Amarr a long time ago. Funny when you think about it. The way I heard it told was that the Caldari wanted more privileges at the federal level than any of the other cultures. Holding secret colonies isn't cool, not when everybody else was open with what they were doing. If a company was found to be even half as troubling in the State as the Caldari were in the Federation, well that company would be liquefied without any hesitation. I'm still of the school of thought that we should have just tried to economically destabilize the State through causing tension between the corporations. Then sweep in and clean house when they had no time to prepare. I don't know why the Federation dislikes a tactical approach. Well that was then. We are in the now. Sure there are good guys, just depends on how indoctrinated you are to their cultural outlooks. I mean initially I just liked the Amarr aesthetic, now I cannot imagine ever harming the empire, etc and I honestly believe IN NEW EDEN (not IRL) the Amarr are doing the right thing. They did a lot of bad things but they did a lot of right things. -Jet Engine -Discovered the extreme limits of the human body in a scientific method -Banned smoking -Promoted exercise -Promoted education -Brought the German economy back to an unstoppable expansion Now don't take me wrong, they were a lot worse than they were good, but humans are imperfect beings we can never be pure evil nor pure good. Also the lack of trade enforced by law is not evil in in of itself. Early modern civilizations traded with each other without any type of third party enforcer. So none of the Empire's are evil, except maybe Sansha and even then Sansha is doing what he's doing because he thinks he is helping society as a whole, he is wrong but that is that. As for the Sleepers, well we don't know their intentions since we have never really consulted one. Truth be told i was originally minmatar but when they added in the racial quarters i was like "WTF this s*** got no walls just GD pipes everywhere." I mean come on the consoles in the minmatar quarters don't even look like the belong at all. tis the only reason i am gallante.
