The initial attack on Caldari Prime was exaggerated, yes. Nouvelle Rouvenor was a terrible act done by terrorists, and not the State. Unfortunately, it was enough to push people over the edge, a hardline right-wing government came to power in the Federation and wanted blood.
But so was the placing of a Leviathan above the planet 5 years ago, threatening to kill every Gallentean below. The Caldari home planet lies unfortunately in the heart of the Federation, so as long as the Caldari are a hostile entity, it will be a security risk.
If both sides actually stopped their petty bickering and talked peace, things might be different.

The Gallente and Amarr do have far to much in common, but sit at other ends of the spectrum from one another.

Sure there are good guys, just depends on how indoctrinated you are to their cultural outlooks.
I mean initially I just liked the Amarr aesthetic, now I cannot imagine ever harming the empire, etc and I honestly believe IN NEW EDEN (not IRL) the Amarr are doing the right thing. Unifying mankind one way or another, either under their banner, or against them.
