We may be depraved and we may commit atrocities, but we do so with honor and intercity. That is the Gallante way.

The mandate of the righteous is fine thing is it now Aztec? The Gallente and Amarr do have far to much in common, but sit at other ends of the spectrum from one another. We do not assert that our way is the only way, nor the best way. It is simply how we choose to live. We are conscious of our flaws, but together we hope to perfect ourselves. Though we remain humble in the fact that we can never achieve it.
The best thing is that not everyone has to choose this path. We are all free to act how we choose, all suffering the consequences, whether in this life or the next.

We do not assert that our way is the only way, nor the best way. It is simply how we choose to live. You do assert your way look at the Minmatar. Also the war with the Caldari which is fought because of you pushing your ways on another race The Caldari-Gallante war was a result of paranoia and terrorist attacks, that were wrongfully avenged on the innocent.
And the Federation could not simply allow the Caldari to leave. Doing so would have weakened the control of the central federal bureaucracy. No.
When you look back at it, it was for the best. If we wouldn't have fought them, we would be weaker today. The war modernized our militaries faster than anybody could have imagined. If both of our empires didn't have strong warriors than we would have gotten overrun by the Amarr a long time ago.
Funny when you think about it.

That's not how I recall the story, Jacques. The way I heard it told was that the Caldari wanted more privileges at the federal level than any of the other cultures. Holding secret colonies isn't cool, not when everybody else was open with what they were doing. If a company was found to be even half as troubling in the State as the Caldari were in the Federation, well that company would be liquefied without any hesitation.
I'm still of the school of thought that we should have just tried to economically destabilize the State through causing tension between the corporations. Then sweep in and clean house when they had no time to prepare. I don't know why the Federation dislikes a tactical approach.
Well that was then. We are in the now. No point in being upset about old mistakes. Look forward and to the sky. That is the Gallante way.

Goric Rumis wrote:Simply put: Everybody is bad. The four imperial factions are generally terrible and the pirate factions are terrible and the Jove and Sansha are evil and the Sleeper machines just want to kill everybody. There are no "good guys" in New Eden. Why do you think there are no "legal" repercussions for in-game scams and hostile takeovers? Because everybody's just trying to get their piece. That is not really fair to say. It is like saying **** Germany was completely bad. Nope. They did a lot of bad things but they did a lot of right things.
-Jet Engine -Discovered the extreme limits of the human body in a scientific method -Banned smoking -Promoted exercise -Promoted education -Brought the German economy back to an unstoppable expansion
Now don't take me wrong, they were a lot worse than they were good, but humans are imperfect beings we can never be pure evil nor pure good.
Also the lack of trade enforced by law is not evil in in of itself. Early modern civilizations traded with each other without any type of third party enforcer. So none of the Empire's are evil, except maybe Sansha and even then Sansha is doing what he's doing because he thinks he is helping society as a whole, he is wrong but that is that. As for the Sleepers, well we don't know their intentions since we have never really consulted one. Chances are that their machines are operating on millennium old orders to protect their space.
