1.7 crisis for infantry players against vehicles.
Whenever an enemy tank, let alone two tanks, is deployed in a match, I have nothing NOTHING to counter vehicles.
My last match I unloaded the following on a Gunlogi in this order:
3x Advance AV Grenades 4x Advance Swarm launchers
I don't know how much damage I dealt, but it still survived. I don't know if I can play like this anymore. I'm practically a sitting duck with no where to hide.
There needs to be massive changes, yes, but this.... THIS. This is more of a cry for help than a feedback.

Try with 3x complex dmg modded Proto swarms......
Hit a Gunnlogi with it's hardeners down only to have it use it's shield booster to rep back to full shield. Then it activates a hardener and sits through my second clip....

Doesn't matter if it's bad against shields. The shields are on a vehicle, and my weapon is specifically made to counter vehicles..... Not infantry, VEHICLES!!!

All while hardeners were down.
Swarms now are only good for taking out installations. You'd probably be better off buying a MLT rail tank to take out installations anyway, at least you can kill infantry. |

My suggestion is running with 3-4 people running similar kits of advanced teir or better. As we have no alarms yet, get within close range using available cover and stealth. Coordinate your strike via voice communication of some kind be it in game or third party. When you strike, strike hard with no thought of ammo consumption. All of your squad hits multiple times and if done right will even drive the hardened tanks away. Its not about the damage you can put out, as the regen will cover one swarms hit delay before the next launch through regen and reaction. Multiple swarms are harder to deal with. Coordinated swarms are another thing entirely. honestly, toss out the av grenades, their worthless.

I've killed tanks with my drop ship while their hardeners are up, and swarms can put out more dps.
The logical part of me thinks CCP took a good idea with the vehicle balance (which I love BTW) and took it slightly too far. I think they need to reduce the HP of vehicles and modules, but make hardeners more effective, so that when you turn them on, you end up with the same ehp that we have bow. This emphasizes vehicles active hardeners, and makes the cool down of more concern.
The other part of me, however, laughs at AV players, and I have no plans to stop my rampage until you have lost the equivalent isk that I have on my drop ships. Payback's a *****. |

There goes that whole AVers are dumb a sh*t stereotype......
1 Javelin missile can take out a M1 Abrams or the equivalent, yet my swarm launcher firing 6x the payload barely scratches anything.
Pilots can kill infantry and other vehicles. Forgers can wound MLT dropships and annoy anything higher tiered. LolTanks use nitrous before 2nd shot even hits. Swarmers just wait to die... Useless against tanks and free kills for infantry.
Tanks got SP back, I want my AV sp back.
[EDIT] It's pretty easy to take out a take if you're hovering over it's blind spot. Try that in it's line of sight. Oh while in range of infantry. |

My Gunnlogi survived two proto swarmer's and an AFG shooting me it's not a surprise you weren't able to solo it using ADV gear that is ineffective against shields and didn't kill it, use flux or is it too difficult not having the grenades fly at the target if your throw is off target.

How can we help our teammates if we are too broke to do it ? Eve is about Risk vs Reward ......... for an AVer at the moment ( minus the cheap tactics of Jihad Jeeping ) it's High risk little reward .....
Look I'm not saying that the situation needs to be nerfed . It was fun fighting the new tanks and dropships even if a lot got away it made the ones did get feel that much sweeter . I'm just saying the reward system for AV needs to be balanced a bit better or we all will find ourselves with a lack of AV because it's simply not cost effective to run .
I have even more incentive to ignore the tank and turn my forge toward infantry and that should not be .
No job is worth doing if you don't get paid in the end .

Having been a DS pilot since the day DUST came out, I can safely say that this has been the only update so far in which I can even sustain (let alone profit from) my roles as a transport/CRU/reconnaissance/fire support, even with finance from a tight knit corp.
It used to be that if you were hit by swarms, you drop what you are doing, turn, and slam the throttle to the firewall. A hit from a proto forge gun would often spell death, as you would be unable to get clear before the second deadly shot hit. You would also have an incredibly hard time laying down fire as assault, as on top of the above, aiming was a ***** for the damage dealt.
Gone are those days. Thankyou CCP.

They do need to fix the assists for killing vehicles to actually pay out for doing like...over 200 damage or something. I dont get points for hitting vehicles with my rail sometimes. Would that be a satisfactory solution for this? Im just highly against one player being able to solo any form of tank other than civilian even if its in proto. Especially if the tanker is smart and knows how to run and fit their tanks.

May I introduce you to the FGM-148 Javelin? Man portable infantry based AV that actually kills tanks in one shot. Usually crewed by two, but can be effectively operated by one.
Now with that in mind... One shouldn't be able to solo a tank with a launcher that fires four homing missiles why? Oh right. HAV pilots like their easy mode.
The forge gun splash radius nerf has not diminished my ability to kill infantry with it. Thank you.

Its not about the damage you can put out, as the regen will cover one swarms hit delay before the next launch through regen and reaction. Multiple swarms are harder to deal with. Coordinated swarms are another thing entirely. honestly, toss out the av grenades, their worthless. Edit- idk why im giving you strategy against something I run...Too much fairness involved for a game where we pay for things i guess. I actually want to help you guys. But driving tanks is now immensely more enjoyable. x.x
If it should require three infantry AV to take a HAV, then to be balanced and fair, a HAV shouldn't be able to function at all without a crew of three.
The forge gun splash radius nerf has not diminished my ability to kill infantry with it. Thank you.

They are fine, although nitro needs a fix.
It has been hilarious a few hours ago I saw a tank being lured to what it appeared to be a weak infantry player just for it to be ambushed by 2 forges and 1 swarm ( it blew up almost instantly) and all day long HAVs keep blowing each other.
Personally HAV fights seem to be more active and they are vulnerable long enough to get destroyed. |

Well if you actually look at what you're talking about... The HAV only requires one pilot for it to be a full functioning mobile large turret platform therefore lending to the premise of single player success.
If you have any real experience in Eve you would know that it is possible for a single cruiser, even a frigate, to lock down a battleship and solo it to death. Happens every day in Eve. Even industrials have been used to successfully make "lone wolf" kills.
AVers play for the team by sacrificing effectiveness against Infantry to be effective against vehicles. Now, at the current values, AV infantry is effective at nothing as an experienced and capable HAV pilot will now rarely loose a HAV. The risk to HAVs, and dropships to a somewhat lesser extent, has become quite low.
