TTK is being addressed in the next few updates.
This game is no where near close to those games.
If you're dieing to quick try adding more health, or play a more tactical game where stealth matters, and you flank all the time
Dedicated heavy, tanker, and pilot.
You could say i like heavy things.

CCP Rouge's background with EA has nothing to do with this. He's just trying to do his job. In fact people like me, CEOPyres and others are currently hoping that CCP Rouge will be able to turn this game around and recover from the initial fallout of its May 14 release. Keep in mind that CCP Rouge wasn't the Production Director for Dust when Dust launched.

Ya, they are definitely straying away from the mmo part of this game. Theres no point in modules or suits if you just die in 2 shots no matter if its militia or proto. I can hold my own dont get me wrong. But its all about who gets the first bead 98% of the time. But what can we do? Theres nothin else out there worth playing at the moment. So I will just keep grindin. |

when I first started playing dust I took on heavies as a scout or assault and lost 75% of the time and when I did beat them I would feel like I accomplished something. the laser battles were great everything was fun. being able to fight 2 or battles and still have a sliver of shields or armor was great. the thing I liked most about dust was surviveability now it is a twitch shooter with a little bit of tactic is requiered. before the game use to require extreme tactics to win and going up against someone who had a lot of sp would recquire you to out think them now you just have to shoot first and he goes down to almost any weapon.
since the may 14th launch they pretty muched nerfed armor and shields I personally think that: 1. Armor and shields should be taken up 150%-200% across the board because of improved hit detection. 2. Scanners range should be reduced to whatever is in the radar range of the users and proto dampener's should beat proto scanners on a scout . 3. Scouts should get a speed boost at every level by 25% 4. The shield hardeners and armor hardeners that were for vehicles should be moved to a heavy only mod 5. The cloaks that were supposed to come with uprising should be brought out and be a scout only mod 6. The portable shields that were supposed to be brought out with uprising should be a medium (assualt and logi) only mod. 7. the idea of logi's only being able to carry a side arm is the stupidest idea I have ever heard and should immediately be forgotten. 8. a vault mechanic would be great. 9. a cover system like Killzone 3 would also be wonderful Let people play their suits the way they want to not some stupid vision of how you think it should be played when people find and exploit something that was poorly planned buff everything else stop bringing out the nerf hammer all it does is make people not want to play I have said it befor I love this game. I just can't play it anymore. |

I just can't play it anymore. I remember back then when a heavy was feared and was of the most dangerous enemies on the the field. I miss that too.
the survivablity was something unique about Dust, but it made Dust into a who can bunny hop and strafe the best. So I can see why CCP had shorten the time to kill; however shortning the time to kill has somewhat mitigated tanking in general.
1. I don't think amour and sheilds were ever that high (I could be wrong though) and i believe doing so would support the bunny hoping/strafing playstyle CCP didn't want. I am in favor of decreasing all he weapon's damage now that hit detection is better.
2. I agree that scanners should have their range reduced because most of the time people need to know who is in their surrounding area rather than whose 100m away. And yes, a scout should not have to nuder themself to be undetectable. And "you have been scanned" gets annoying.
3. I do think scouts need more useful skills but 25% per lvl is a little too much.
4. I don't understand why a heavy should have or need this.
5. Cloaks aren't in game yet so no need to worry about them just yet. And im glad cloaks didn't come with 1.0. A lot of stuff was broken with that release.
6. same as 5
7. I know the reason behind why CCP wants to make logis only have sidearms, but doing so seems like a drastic solution to the real problem of how to make assault better at being an assault. Maybe lowering the stacking penalty of damage mods, extenders, and plates for assaults that way a logi cando it put an assault is better at it, but thats just my idea.

Honestly CCP's fear has clouded their judgment many times and many times it has come back to bit them. The pending logi sidearm nerf is evidence. They don't know whats gonna happen if they buff assault but they assume it can't be good so they are willing to kill logis. What they need is that ambition that a lot of the old EVE players talked about that mindset of "thats a crazy idea but it might work".

The constant annoyances throughout the game's life has been more then annoying, but i want to see what this gameturns out to be so im not giving up. 1. was to bring back survivability and tactical gameplay
2. we agree on this.
3.scouts go down very easy so if you boost the speed by 25% they can at least run away from when things get tough. (25% militia, 30% std, 35% proto should be the speed boost sorry I wasn't clear.
4. Heavies go down way to easily end of story a mod that allows them to take a percentage off the damage they would recieve is a great idea and a fix to the problem they have it should look something like this damage reduction 10% militia, 15% std, 20 proto. also this is kind of mentioned in the suits description
5 & 6 cloaks & Shields were promised with the release of uprising in case you don't remeber
7. leave the logi be
8. a basic vault mechanic is needed if you took a poll i am sure 99.9% of the community agrees
9. this is just wishful thinking on my part.
if you don't understand 4, 5, & 6 I was trying to create things that will give these the light medium and heavy suits their own unique mods and equipment because right now they can pretty much all fit the same mods |

ttk is noticeably shorter when its proto vs std gear...perhaps this is why the OP is experiencing this, or even just choice of fittings.
other things like AA and hit detection fixes certainly make ttk seem shorter as well.
I imagine all these issues combine makes this seem like a twitch shooter...
personally I like the flow of battle, I just hate all the bugs.

well it took them over 6 months to fix hit detection....so I imagine around, say....6 months?

I don't find TTK all that bad myself. If I pull out proto and the guy I'm fighting is in adv I usually win by a big margin. The only difference is we are missing less. TTK dropped because people are better than we all realized. Why punish skill? |

Because now they cannot buff the assaults or buff the heavies in any way that makes their weapons stronger than the current line of ARs. As a scout it makes very little difference wether I have mlt plates or proto plates added, the same goes with the shield, I go down in under 1-2 seconds no matter what if I am spotted.
I can take on heavies and protos with my standard and mlt fit with little fear, there is a fairly big chance that i will win and only loose very little isk. This is biggest problem in my eyes, no longer do I fear proto players or heavies, as long as I manager to get the first hit with my standard weapon, I might win the encounter. This negates the need to level up your equipment, to collect SP, it also affects CCPs business as fewer will be buying boosters, because the difference between standard, advanced and proto is insignificant at the moment.
There is a benefit of running proto, but you will die multiple times and loose isk. Might be on purpose by CCP, to change income from boosters and getting players to buy aurum gear instead. Only way to avoid dying and make a stable isk income is to complete dominate the match, ie. protostomping in a proto squad. |

Yeah, we are all running in only tank and dps. that is true and sag. I as well would like to have more diversity.
PS: If logi become limited for sidearm only, I'm going to stop playing my logi.

A few facts: The bullet damage and fire rate of weapons in Dust is actually very close to stats in BF3/4 and COD. But in Dust, you tend to have 3x to 6x the HP. So basically, you have 3x to 6x the time to react.
Another fact: CCP are working on this ****. A lot of the community suggestions might seem good on paper, but don't play well. What they're doing right now is looking for the best solution, rather than the quick and dirty one. (Cough LAV's got +60% HP Cough)

Honestly CCP's fear has clouded their judgment many times and many times it has come back to bit them. The pending logi sidearm nerf is evidence. They don't know whats gonna happen if they buff assault but they assume it can't be good so they are willing to kill logis. What they need is that ambition that a lot of the old EVE players talked about that mindset of "thats a crazy idea but it might work".
The constant annoyances throughout the game's life has been more then annoying, but i want to see what this gameturns out to be so im not giving up. 1. was to bring back survivability and tactical gameplay 2. we agree on this. 3.scouts go down very easy so if you boost the speed by 25% they can at least run away from when things get tough. (25% militia, 30% std, 35% proto should be the speed boost sorry I wasn't clear. 4. Heavies go down way to easily end of story a mod that allows them to take a percentage off the damage they would recieve is a great idea and a fix to the problem they have it should look something like this damage reduction 10% militia, 15% std, 20 proto. also this is kind of mentioned in the suits description 5 & 6 cloaks & Shields were promised with the release of uprising in case you don't remeber 7. leave the logi be 8. a basic vault mechanic is needed if you took a poll i am sure 99.9% of the community agrees 9. this is just wishful thinking on my part. if you don't understand 4, 5, & 6 I was trying to create things that will give these the light medium and heavy suits their own unique mods and equipment because right now they can pretty much all fit the same mods I understand your reasoning behind why you think survivablity is a problem and ultimately ruining the game, but one of the things i hated about dust in beta was the bunny hoping/strafing playstyle everyone did which destroyed the tactical part because you didn't need to think about you kills when moving back and forth was effective enough. But im not infavour of dieing in less then a second either. In terms it should take around 3 to 4 seconds (missippissi seconds) to kill. This is plenty of time to react.
