It simply has bad range and dumb spread. Those things you mentioned are OK considering the BASE DPS of an HMG is around 600. If it could actually apply that at a range longer than 15m it would be an awesome weapon. It also has a confusing reticule, so that too. Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Same stats as Replication but higher heat build up and a longer reload. They'll able to out gun anyone dumb enough to go toe-to-toe with them, but not for extended periods of time or for multiple encounters. I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

My Imperial mopped the floor with him. once at 20m and again at 5m... HMG maybe isn't broken. Perhaps dealing with them in their prime has made us better players? I literally played Cubs EVERY flippin' game back then. The playbase and matchmaking always put me up against those TP hotshots. I was forced to get good... and use SGs... If I have any space to work in, even 1m on each side, I won't go down to a HMG 1v1.

I don't meant to offend you or anything, so don't get me wrong, but any decent squad would have 1 guy keep you occupied while another ran around behind you and killed you, then went over and revived his buddy if you were able to take him out. I'm not saying I don't still have my moments with the HMG, I do throw it on once in a while, but I am able to perform better with more consistent results using the Duvolle AR on a Heavy and that is just sad. CQC it is a beast if you shove the barrel down their throat and fill it full of bullets 2. Using cover is you best friend, tight buildings and halls are even better 3. It can be used effectively as area denial 4. It's fun! I'm prof 5 in AR, SMG, FG, but only prof 3 in HMG (let's face it the prof blows anyways) and I still use it in tight maps and for fun.

Actually, that's exactly what they were doing. I was using my knowledge of what I would do against a heavy and applied it to counter them. I kept both occupied, lowering their health a bit by bit until they were too low to attack me and started running, so I jumped out and spreyed them both down. They had a friend waiting behind, but I could just sprey him down after I finished with those two, since it literally only took a swipe of the crosshair over them to kill them. Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.
