I decided to risk it and purchase an Elite Pack and Veteran Pack out of sheer experimental curiosity from Gamestop.com. I have currently received a physical copy of a redeem key for the Elite Pack and an email correspondence promise that a code for the Veteran Pack is ready to download; however the Veteran Pack order does not exist in my order history feed, thus I cannot begin to claim it. Email and phone corespondence has been utter abysmal. While it is Black Friday weekend, I was on hold for 32 minutes to reach a man who said he didn't have the tools to coordinate a website issue, and put me on hold to another department. I hung up after another 15 minutes.
The real kicker is that PSN no longer accepts these actual product codes, thus indicating that I you have an unclaimed code. regardless of purchase time it is invalidated. This may be an additional issue for people who purchased multiple codes several months ago before CCP's announcement of the elimination of these packs.
This 'experiment' shines very unfavorably upon Gamestop and their service provider Trymedia.

Has CCP notified Gamestop of the change regarding merc packs? If so, how long ago was that notification made? Has Gamestop responded at all?

I stopped going to Gamestop when they wanted to sell me a "new" game that they obviously rented out to their employees and just repackaged it. I get more money for used games and pay less for them on Amazon.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

This reminds me of the whole debacle over Deus Ex: Human Revolution that Gamestop started.

OP, did you get your refund from Gamestop? The process is still ongoing. While PSN did not accept my codes I have sent in a support ticket to CCP to see if they would honor the codes. I would certainly understand if they did not. In that case, I'd be in an uphill battle with Trymedia to 'try' and get a refund.

I just brought it up because I have seen people claim to threaten to use this method in regards to the BPOs being removed, but that subject belongs on another thread.

To each their own, but from my perspective spending $150 on a F2P shooter on 8 year old hardware, with almost no available content to play, and a tiny shrinking user base is borderline insanity. I hope you make a good living and that $150 wasn't a big deal. |

Yeah, I bought one of the $20 packs from Gamestop the other day. It didn't work when I tried to redeem it from the PSN store but when I did it under Account Management on the home screen it worked fine.
On a different note I am pretty pissed off. I bought it mainly for the SMG BPO because I never got one the first time around (and the aurum and boosters are nice too). It clearly states on the Gamestop website that it comes with a damn SMG and a Dragonfly scout. What I actually received was a Toxin AR and a Dragonfly Assault, which I already have.

He's not an idiot. He did it out of pure curiosity to see if it would work. Apparently he has done us all a service by providing us with information on the experience so that people like you and me won't have to suffer through it. On top of that, this revealed a glaring issue with Gamestop and its service.
Not only that, but if Jadek is right about Gamestop mixing up the descriptions of the packs, then the problem with Gamestop is bigger than I thought.

At this point, in light of the mistake that Gamestop has made with the description of what they're selling, I'm going to assume that Gamestop dropped the ball on this one. If they can make an error like this, whose to say Gamestop hasn't made other such errors?

This isn't the first or even the second time CCP has just blatantly changed these deals to significantly change or even just straight up REMOVE big chunks of what we have purchased, and each time previously the majority of the CCP peanut gallery has cheered them along with "HTFU" and "Read the fine print, they can change whatever they want."
The reality is, sure, they CAN do it. But when you offer one thing, and then post-purchase change the offer to something significantly different and/or obviously inferior to the original product, you're burning bridges with your customers.
I mean, I already got burnt once, and it persuaded me to change my mind and not subscribe to EVE: Online (let alone ever pay another penny for anything in Dust 514) as I had intended to start doing before getting the shaft. You... do realize this is not about CCP, right?
Also, I was there in regards to the early merc packs. Maybe you were misinformed on what some scrub told you or you misinterpreted what you saw back then, but what went down is that there was confusion in regards to the refunding of the merc packs in-game once Dust 514 went into full release (which it did). Because of the nature of the release, players who purchases these merc packs back in closed beta were given two options. Either...
A) Keep your character stats (SP, KDR, etc.), assets, AUR and ISK but don't get the merc packs refunded to you. or B) Get your merc pack refunded to you but your character gets wiped back to "zero" (as if you just started over).
It was a long-winded debate over that.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand before we stray off any further.
This is about Gamestop and its business practices.
EDIT: In addition to the two options given above, players who didn't opt for the refund were also given the option of getting a free respec during the full release.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

I've had similar problems with redeemable codes from CCP. Sony help is worthless in this and don't waste your time with them. Instead create a customer support ticket in game, or here:

I found that within two or three business days that a helpful CCP representative will fix things for you.
Still confused as to why there is a difference between a promo code for DUST based on the European Region and one for the US Region when this game is NOT regional. But they hooked me up with a replacement code. |

I did get a reply back from GM Vegas. Thank God I'm getting a reply back from a human and not a bot. Something interesting happened when I went to give my my product code.
Gamestop has denied viewing access to my Elite Pack product code, without my request or a chargeback to my credit card. Thankfully I wrote it down when I did.

Update time. I have gotten word back from CCP that the sole code I received of two packs ordered ($150) is, you guessed it, invalid. And I cannot go back to check my code for reference because Gamestop has deleted access to viewing my exact code. Their phone support is worse than useless. And after a full week I have not received a single update on my complaint requests; besides auto message bots. This is just wrong Gamestop. Utterly wrong!
I did not imitate a chargeback, however they are treating like one without actually sending money back to my card.

I suggest you focus your skill points to train up Reading Comprehension to Level 1. We're talking about Gamestop here. In this case, at least a HUMAN representative from CCP tried to help him. As for Gamestop, no response other than a cookie-cutter autoreply, no refund, inaccurate product description, etc.
