Assault suits starting off with uplinks dropping them down , run to supply depot switch to another suit with another type of uplinks .. drop them down .. do the same again .. then go back and start doing this with nanohives .. then after nanohives have been done they'll go back and switch to a Scanner or something else ... this completely nullifies the point of having 3 equipment slots .. it seems to just mean that you don't have to change into as many different suits at a supply depot
Remove the Equipment slot off Assault suits .. why do they need it If they are supposed to be the 'slayer' role and no one else can do that role then they shouldn't be able to use any equipment because that is a logi's job ...
Any Logi nerf has to be introduced with the Assault suits losing their equipment slot

The logistic suit is an open minded suit. Its problem is that it preforms better than the other specialized suits. It's "too good". Why run scout when you can run logistic and have better stats? Why run assault when the logistic does everything better?
The equipment slot on the Assault makes since BECAUSE it is Assault. Anybody going to the front lines will either have a hive or a scanner. Both are combat oriented.

Running back and forth like that wastes time, use logistic for that for faster deployment of equipment.
Assault having a single equipment slot is not that big of a deal since my logi can hold 3 and my assault suit likes the STD nanohive it carries.

Just remove the logistic's grenade slot and all will be well in the dust world. The logistic then will have 1 weapon and three to four equipment to the Assault suits 3 weapons and one equipment (Light, sidearm, grenade)

You should only be able to deploy the maximum number of any given equipment as determined by the strongest equipments number of active uses.
So if you had 3 different uplinks, two that allowed 2 to be dropped, and one that allowed 3, you could only have a maximum of 3 at any given time, so long as you were using the better uplinks. Otherwise, you'd only have 2. Same goes for nano hives. This whole nonsense of flooding the field with equipment is precisely that: nonsense.

Turret Installations aren't built into your suit and everyone can use them ..
It's a fair trade in my opinion .. assault suits get to be slayers and logi's get to logi ... if you don;t have equipment then logi's are more needed to fulfill their role and carry hives uplinks etc .. this will incentivise logi's being logi's and assault just being able to focus solely on assaulting, I really don't see the problem that you have with it

Well, I and many others I've seen carry Nanite Injectors, for instance. I figure I can leave the repping to Logi suits but having as many needles as possible keeps the team up and running and helps us win.

Nice try, no buffing assault is better because actual logis like myself don't get gimped and assaults would be better at assault than any logi used for slaying, think about it.

Let me give you an analogy: Four numbers need to be equal. 5 5 5 9
You could either add 4 to all but the 9.
Or subtract 4 from the 9.
The net effect is the same, but the first one requires more work.

I don;t use grenades anyway and I only run a Gek so I can fit full proto equipment and proto tank mods ...
I have proto cal assault and proto cal logi .. i just switch to my assault suit when I want to kill and use my logi as support
seriously Take the logi weapon and grenade slots away ...

Why nerf the logi when a buffed assault would keep everyone happy, a buffed assault would mean even slayer logis are sub par than assault. It's called power creep nub. You can't just buff EVERYTHING because one thing is OP.
Why not though? Logis are happy with their suits, why change that when you can buff the assault to be better and even better than any slayer logi?
And compared to me you are the nub, I have almost 3 times the kills, wp and better k/d than you with almost 23mil sp so be quiet.

I think the fix is to buff assaults, that way us logis stay happy, assaults get happy and if done right no slayer logi statistically will do better than an assault but player skill will always be a factor.

Kills? That just means you spend more time in the game, wup da ******* do. Same for WP.
My K/D has been rising steadily, but as I said, I don't play this game enough. If I did, my K/D would be at 5 because that's how much I get on average in matches.

What exactly do you want to do to the logis? It's relative. If you keep them with just a sidearm, then fine, remove the equipment from the assault.

As I have already told you countless times Cat Merc .. the Logi suit isn;t OP if players us it as an actual logi suit, the problem is assault users not using any equipment and fitting it as an assault ... when I fit proto equipment on my logi suit I can;t run proto weapon/grenades and have to use 2 low slots for cpu and PG to equip complex shield extenders and a regulator and 2 enhanced armour plates ...
Force logi suits to have to fill all equipment slots and give the assault suit better bonuses and the problem will be fixed ... you seem to want some kind of uber nerf to make them useless at killing people and if that happens then Assaults suits should lose their equipment slot

You have no idea what kind of nerf a removal of equipment is. Equipment is HUGE, that's the number one reason I don't run heavies.
It needs to be a huge nerf to logis to justifiy a removal of equipment from assaults. Give logis sidearms only and then I would agree.
P.S: My Gal Logi laughs at your first point. It is both an amazing combat suit (way better than my Gal Assault) and is still rocking proto equipment.

CCP this is stupid all these people want to do is get back to assault fights and they dont want any other class being combat effective never mind that I have 32 million sp 17 million just in dropsuit upgrades. Like Ive said before it takes way more sp to achieve these results and I help my team. If you mess with the Amarr Logi Then I would request that you fix the Amarr assault and give it another low slot at proto level....I also think its funny in a reverse psycological way these people want the 2nd equipment slot back on the assault or more grenade slots when the commando has none.
As far as Logi slayers (Galente Logi) that setup cost 280K ISK people arent rocking that fit as often as the QQ's or the braggers that say they have alot of cash are putting on. If you change the Logistics dropsuit to say only carry side arm you can forget about this game going anywhere no one will play logi there will be no more nano hives no more rep tools no more uplinks no more proto scanners. CCP this is stupid all these people want to do is get back to assault fights and they dont want any other class being combat effective never mind that I have 32 million sp 17 million just in dropsuit upgrades. Like Ive said before it takes way more sp to achieve these results and I help my team. If you mess with the Amarr Logi Then I would request that you fix the Amarr assault and give it another low slot at proto level....I also think its funny in a reverse psycological way these people want the 2nd equipment slot back on the assault or more grenade slots when the commando has none.
As far as Logi slayers (Galente Logi) that setup cost 280K ISK people arent rocking that fit as often as the QQ's or the braggers that say they have alot of cash are putting on. If you change the Logistics dropsuit to say only carry side arm you can forget about this game going anywhere no one will play logi there will be no more nano hives no more rep tools no more uplinks no more proto scanners. Also, Amarr Assault would be OP with an extra low slot. It has the highest CPU/PG. Highest base HP. Scout level Stamina. Is an omni tank with no real weakness.
It's an awesome suit, the removal of the low slot and speed reduction is more than made up by these.

Most people I know that used to be assault players back in Chrome, that now use Logi suits all said the same thing when asked why they chose it. Logi's have more slots, and that 5 second passive repair rate once you are level 5. This allows logis to dual tank better because they dont need to use repair mods, also if you dont use side arms you have no need to use an assault suit if you can tank better on logi.
In the logi's defence, minmitar logi's are significantly less effective as "slayers" than the other logi's. Amarr is suppose to be a combat medic, Gallente and Caldari logi's however tend to be the more popular dual tank choices. At least 85% of my deaths are by users of those suits. Hell I know people that claim to be assault guys but wear Gal logi. Gal logi gets the equipment bonus so it allows you to dual tank with armour and damage mods, then throw on decent equipment as well. Using an assault suit has only two advantages: you are slightly faster, and you have a side-arm with each race variant. That is simply not enough for most people to want to use the assault suit. There needs to be an incentive to use assault suits, the shield recharge bonus is only good for caldari. Give the people a reason to use assault suits and they will be used, making logi suits used less frequently, making them seem less OP. Just like mass drivers, people say they are OP, but its because they were used a lot. Now they arent used as much and no one cries for a nerf, yet the gun wasnt altered.
Furthermore, I agree with Cat, I am a logi suit user and I think assault suits need to be given some sort of reason to want to use it. Now it would be less work to just nerf logi's but less work doesnt mean the right decision. In my opinion the heavy and the scout need a buff as well.
On a side note, I would like for the minmitar logi to become more balanced with the rest of the logi's, ever since Gal logi was given the extra slot totalling them at 4 slots the Minmitar logi lost its most appealing feature. Hacking bonus is nice, but who needs that when you can stack 3 damage mods and have 700 armour, AND good equipment. Minmitars are faster so armour tanking defeats their purpose and the base shield is 90 so tanking in shields wouldnt be smart, so I guess you can say the only "true" logi's are Minmitar :P since they cant have cake and ice cream at the same time where as the other suits can. |

I use ADV weapons at most but usually std weapons so I can fit ADV equipment with a decent tank to shrug off bullets as I heal or when I shield people when I revive them which by the way gets me killed every time because of the current ttk so I can't even do that anymore.

That's one of the main balancing ponits of the heavy. The fact that the HMG is underwhelming doesn't mean that heavy suits aren't incredibly powerful if they fit something like a light weapon. No equipment keeps them in check.

rely on your team and have awareness.
The same way your squad relies on you for equipments / healing / intel etc you should rely on them for protection. |

I carry an injector, hives and rep tool, I use the scanner setup when I'm on my own or theres only 1 or two other people in my corp online.
You still haven't answered my question, how can I logi if I am easy to kill, if you have seen me you should know I go above and beyond to keep people alive, even random blues, I'd have to hide a lot if I had a tiny amount of hp.

You may take the option out of the suit but you cant get rid of the SP if you change the suit you issue respecs.If I get one 17 million sp is now available to me to put into something else.....LVL 5 Wep. proficiencies....You cant take the slayer out of the suit but you cant take the slayer out of the player.
This change say to removal og light weapons from the suit means less options, and starts to make this game look narrower and narrower until it doesnt look like EVE at all.

Suppose to be intended in hidding or stay in the backfield witha logi, so yes you have to hide not like a svout but in a different way, the goal s not to give you the HP of the scout lol, but a bit less than assault, if exemple we remove 1 high/ 1 low appear that can make sense to me , logi arent suppose to be able top quality frontliner, they are support, with the quality of equipment CCP give all the freaking WP you get....i play scout, wow yes i can have a side arm.... Remove the equipment slot full stop regardless what happens to the logi suit .. heavies don't get an equipment slot so why should assault suits ??
That's one of the main balancing ponits of the heavy. The fact that the HMG is underwhelming doesn't mean that heavy suits aren't incredibly powerful if they fit something like a light weapon. No equipment keeps them in check. And if you nerf logi's and make assaults better at killing then surely they fall in the same category as heavies and will need the equipment slot removed to keep them in check too As I said, it hugely depends on how much of a nerf logis get. so if the logi suit doesn;t get nerfed yet the assault suit gets a huge buff eg 10 extra high and low slots and 1k cpu and PG then you;d keep the equipment slot because the logi suit wasn;t nerfed ? Lol I've just realised that this is a total waste of time You simply refuse to compromise so .. you know what .. No .. Logi suits shouldn't get nerfed and assault suits shouldn't get buffed they are fine as they are .. If they did what you said then of course I would say remove equipment.
2. I can compromise. If you scroll up you will see that if logis get sidearms only then I approve of assaults having their equipment slot removed. Heck I even approve of a speed buff in that case.
Keep your posts organized, I probably missed the part where you said remove weapon slots.

Yes I know but how can I support on the front lines with a lame amount of hp? Do you even know how much you get shot at being a medic?
Don't you think it would be better to just buff assaults (along with scouts and heavies) so that Logis are happy, assaults become happy and any slayer logi fit would still statistically be sub par to assault?

CCP this is stupid all these people want to do is get back to assault fights and they dont want any other class being combat effective never mind that I have 32 million sp 17 million just in dropsuit upgrades. Like Ive said before it takes way more sp to achieve these results and I help my team. If you mess with the Amarr Logi Then I would request that you fix the Amarr assault and give it another low slot at proto level....I also think its funny in a reverse psycological way these people want the 2nd equipment slot back on the assault or more grenade slots when the commando has none.
As far as Logi slayers (Galente Logi) that setup cost 280K ISK people arent rocking that fit as often as the QQ's or the braggers that say they have alot of cash are putting on. If you change the Logistics dropsuit to say only carry side arm you can forget about this game going anywhere no one will play logi there will be no more nano hives no more rep tools no more uplinks no more proto scanners. I am not going to waste sp into Drop suit upgrades as Ill now be playing assault and I dont need all that equipment.You can forget about this game even resembling EVE at all.....

So basically... Logis cost more hence they should be straight up better Also, Amarr Assault would be OP with an extra low slot. It has the highest CPU/PG. Highest base HP. Scout level Stamina. Is an omni tank with no real weakness. It's an awesome suit, the removal of the low slot and speed reduction is more than made up by these. yes that exactly what im saying the balance comes from the mathematical mechanic of PG/cpu if you are runniing support you cant tank as much.If your tanking your not running support....all balanced out by PG/cpu req's ......as far as a logi filling roles better than any other suit ....absolutely because it cost waaaay more sp than any other class.

@ Cat Merc after readign all your posts on your various threads .... ive coem to this conclusion.. sidearms only for Logi's is no different to taking away weapons entirely ... there aren;t enough sidearms in the game to make that valid .. Nova Knives .. Flaylock Pistol .. Scrambler Pistol .. SMG .. all of them are CQC weapons .. seeing as everyman and his dog are using AR/ScR that are just as effective at close range and mid range then you are basically making logi's completely an utterly defenceless
Reverting Logi's to a sidearm only is totally the wrong way to go about nerfing logi's .. Assault suits need to get more relevant assault type passives and Logi suits need to have equipment forcibly on every dropsuit loadout for them to be valid .. eg if you could only put adv and higher equipment on a proto logi suit that would reduce the cpu/pg available to equip proto assault mods .. the Gal Logi suit is broken right now due to the PG/CPU reduction of equipment however if that was removed the aforementioned solution would fix the problem
The issue I have with you isn't necessarily the nerf logi point but the actual way you plan on nerfing logi's
You haven't come up with a single viable solution that wouldn't basically run the logi suit into the ground .. taking away the light weapon slot is NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION .. the SMG would become the only weapon a Logi can actually use and forcing an entire class to have 1 weapon is wrong and bad for the game .. where is the diversity ? Where is the choice to skill into what you want ? What If the SMG becomes nerfed so badly it becomes useless like the Laser rifle will be in 1.7 ? |

No my closed beta code didn't even work but I got on to downloading the day open beta went live.
Oh 1 high and 1 low less, I thought you meant having just 1 high and 1 low lol. I'd be fine with that but all that would do is make the current fake Logis go back to assault and leave us proper logis gimped, fotm will ruin everything if we keep nerfing.
Just buff assaults heavies and scouts, no nerf.

The minmatar and amarr logis seem to be the most balance. I use my minmatar logi suit in skirmish and domination because it wonderful hacking speed bonus, and the amarr are like the true logi assault.
The caldari and gallente need some work though

After using the minni Logi for a while it is by far the best logistic suit in the game in my book. It is the only logistic suit that gets two suit bonusses. that means the minni Logistic can take advantage of both bonusses regardless what he fits.
His capabillity to dualtank makes him far more resitent than the gall logi. Sure the gal logi can get more HP but he will be slower and more vulnerable to explosive weapons whereas the minmatar can be quite resitant to all kind of damages with more speed. |

Ok I am all for the removal of the slot if Logi's start doing there job. I had three logi's that were joined at the hip with some heavies and they never laid hives nor repped anyone else. What a complete waste of resources. I need the slot so I can carry ammo or rephive so i can stay alive. You are trying to punish everyone for what a few are doing. I switch to my logi and lay hives and uplinks then switch back to assault, why you ask, because no one else is F***** doing this. I am always looking out for my team and doing everything I can to make sure we win. So Logi's start spamming the S*** out of uplinks and hives and I will be very happy.

This argument is going into both directions evryone tries to nerf the hell out of the logi just because some tryhards abuse the suit to some extend.
And you have to consider that CCP has done a lot to make the lives of logis doing their job harder. The injector mess, missing healthbars and still noone can call out for ammo .
If I run hives I try to place them where they are needed the most, as we can't refill them easily if I am out of hives I try do do my best to support the team. By repping or reviving the same is true for uplinks f they are gone they are gone. And without a supply depot nearby I just try to give my best, so sometime I will run withyou but cant give you ammo or provide an uplink just because some one else aleady needed them... |
