You do realize that shields have a base resistance of 10% against Forge Guns right? Yes, but the best shield tanks have 40% resist and 5.5k shield with 10% reduction that's 50% damage reduction. A Wykiromi breach proficiency, 5 two damages, and a rear hit will drop the shields by more than half on the best tank, on an average fit it wil insta pop it or come very close.

True and you have 5+ seconds to activate modules and start retreating. Couldnt do it? Then you were way in the open.
Thats not how its done. Most good tankers i have issues killing ABUSE greatly Terrain and Cover..... To an Extent i can only hit them only ONCE before they are already behind cover.
Then there are the ones that wait to play MANUS PEAK and run around in circles in the middle of the map. LOL. U dead.
AGREE. FG should be rendered a LOT better for tankers (this is a top priority CCP) And Swarms should NOT be invisible.

The only mod that takes 5 seconds to activate is the repper, and usually that's not much when I can shoot to 50% resistance to all weaponry in a matter of seconds
Most tankers just don't like the idea of doing anything but running and gunning.
And yeah, SL and FG rendering does need to be fixed.

Infy= King
Infy don't want to play realistic games where Artillery bombards tanks and soldiers alike, they don't like playing games where helicopters can gun them down in droves before they can pull out that RPG, or a tank can thunder through cover to flank them unexpectedly.
They also apparently don't like Tank turrets doing proportionate damage or having advanced targeting features.

I know I was retreating after get hit by 3 swarms and 3 AV nades if not more, then I get hit by 2-3 proto swarms drive behind a small wall concealing me from the swarms because it would take to long to go any further. I attempt to recall when my armor drops below 1000 because the swarms pulled a 90 degree turn around the wall so I can not recall. A final volley soon finishes me off.
5 minutes later he pulls out a Scat Ion fit Madrugar, so it is clear he has over a million in tanks probably at least 4 but he is too scared to actually pull his tank out to fight me.

Why everyone gets so excited about screwing the other players fun is baffling. We have (today, 2013) many system to compensate for bullet drop, range determination and compensation for them. It would most certainly be in play a gazillion years in the future.
Also, why add the complexity so the game becomes even less fun than it is now? The game borders on boredom more often than not, yet the forums want the variety to be removed and to add complexity (that CCP/Shanghai would be hard pressed to code correctly) to further bog down our ancient PS3s.
Insta-Killing a tank cannot happen, whether on a tower or not. Depending on many factors a clip or more is often required. Do the math Merc. That amount of seconds does not equate to insta kills.
Also, Forge Guns used to be infinite as did Rail Tanks. Now Tanks are limited to 599m and FG are at 299m. Get some facts right before you tune to the whine channel. |

One problem I have is that if an FG gets behind me he can hit me with 4 shots and I go pop this is because he out shoots my rep. ideally I can take 7 proto FG shots maybe 8 (no rear hits and my rep cycles completely) but because of the delay in rep time and cycle time it takes half that.

No making tanks do what they are supposed to do isn't a bad thing. You know how badly I want the damn Large Blast turret gone from this game.
MBC or nothing, skill shot, AOE, 1-3 mag cap, cannon. Tanks carry vehicle, building, and cover busting ordinance, sure we can kill infantry with a direct hit, or maybe shrapnel..... but HAV cannon don't kill infantry....if you want us using team work to do our job just improve the small turrets significantly and make them our Anti Infantry weapons that we cant even use without support.
That way you cannot complain if we are rolling around with AoE battle cannon that fire slowly, have high alpha, and our gunners are doing our infantry killing.

As long as the small turrets don't do something ridiculous like 600hp per shot or something.
I do think that this sounds like a good idea, but the odds of it happening are the same odds of Void Echo saying that "I was wrong to want tanks to be the best answer and counter to everything".
I doubt CCP would ever be willing to implement anything that manages to slightly represent this idea.

So i must be a DS driver and have at least 4 Specialist AV in my team to ensure a fun game?

You can't tank stomp if your ground guys aren't winning the matches. Tanks can only go as far as infantry go.
