Those two sets of weapons do need rebalancing. A range nerf would actually do wonders for both weapon balance with the other weapons. Granted I play a scout as well. With the hit detection as it is, those things rage vs my pistol forces the plasma cannon shots to be thrown. Granted i love it when people dont move out of the way of that thing ;)

I'm thinking they are were what are going to be because the new rifles are balanced around the old rifles.
I think our best bet is just going to be hope for cloaks as the equipment item and then depend on our suits precision/signature strength to prevail over other cloakers.
You can't shoot what you can't see and you can't aim / shoot/ or take action until after a small decloaking period

If you look at the new Rifles there is more to do, right now all Assault Rifles (the existing and the upcaoming) have nearly the same damage output per second they only differ greatly in Range. CCP needs to give every type of Rifle a dedicated niche where it excels at the cost of other niches.
My Suggestion would be GAR short range, high DPS (medium alpha, high rof) CAR medium range, medium DPS (low alpha high to very high rof) AsCR high range, medium to low DPS (medium alpha, medium rof) RR very high range, low DPS (high slpha low rof)
We have: GAR "short" range, high DPS CAR Medium Range high DPS AsCR high range, high DPS RR very high range, medium to high DPS |

Ie: ARs, ScRs are definitely powerful, and if they're still as good compared to other weapons once the new rifles have seen some use, I agree they might have to get looked at sometime in the future. But it would have to be as a whole, seen in the light of the performance of the new rifles. Which we won't know anything about until the new year.
Also, I daresay the SMG could need a look in the same balancing pass. In fact, I'm sure the nerf train will stop there after the ScR has been made useless, since most stuff I spec into get nerfed. I always spec into it before it becomes FOTM, by the way.
I've been a scout since early open beta - I don't have to tell you about the serial nerfing that's been going on there. I specced into ScR and Flaylocks once they were released, since I liked their concepts and they're a good fit in terms of damage types.
I now run ScR and SMGs, both of which are very likely to get nerfed. If that actually happens, I'm going to start accepting bribes for not speccing into specific weapons, to keep them un-nerfed :D |

I am using Minie Logistics at all times, having shield extenders on 5, skills that increase their effectiveness, kinetic catalizers on lvl 3, I am doing everything I can and still get OHK from duvolle, gek users, worse when they use full Weapon upgrades, to add more dmg to their stream of death, doesent help. CCP has broken and nerfed the scout time and time again. what about that long time of 1.4 through part of 1.6 where they completely broke my favorite weapon, the nova knives? what about how us scouts ask for a slight pg/cpu buff, just to even the ground with everyone else, but instead they give us a 6 meter increase to passive scan?
don't come trying to put me down for actually putting time into this game and caring enough to not just get up and leave right now, because by all means, i have a right to. instead i've spent hundreds of dollars just to, if nothing else, help put food on ccp's tables.

And good to see you Shotty. I do agree with this nonsense. Why do the Scramblers have such little dispersion? Hipfire to be exact. I run the ScR on my scout occassionally, and it is quite frankly, very good. Especially cqc, which it shouldnt be good in.

I belive the alpha damage should be reduced on the TacScram. Two reasons:
1. Reducing it will encourage the use of the Charge Abilty 2. It will discourage people from spamming hip fire.
Also, decrease the heat cost of the charged shots, and make the damage max of the charge shot higher, further encouraging the use of the charge.
