What needs to be done is bringing up the Assault/Scout/Heavy suits to being on par with what people get out of Logistics, while tweaking the role bonuses for all of them such that the Logistics suit actually get rewarded for being supportive while the others get relevant bonuses for their intended roles (ie, Assault could get damage; Scout can keep the dampening; Heavies getting damage reduction or something, for example.)
I'm a Logibro and have been since closed beta and will be forever more. I dabble in scouting and use various weapons (I major in AR, have since I started but also have skills in the SCR, MD, SCP, SMG, Swarm, will have some in CR and RR when they're released) but I will always be a Logibro at heart. I dabble in almost everything but more so Heavy and Logibroing but Assaults are fine people just don't know how to utilize the suit.. I use Assaults from time to time and do just fine.(Not bragging or don't even think it deserves to be called bragging but I normally go 20+/9 or so) The suit itself is fine Scouts can keep their dampening (From watching my friend's gameplay) Heavies do need something more but I think it's more so the weapons for heavies and not the suit but explosive dmg reduction could help. |

Been one since the start all those months ago. Knew I was gonna be the closest thing to a supporter/healer (like I am in most co-op games), so I named this guy what I did.
It's really weird in game today.
I see all these YELLOW CA-, I mean, suits and I never see them repping and when I go down there's never an indicator that there is someone with a heally stick around.
I've seen them lay down a bunch of D-uplinks and Hives in one area though.

The problem right now is people die too fast for logi to be useful in a support role. I'm a pure support logi, and over the last 3 weeks I've gotten jack all for WP from support actions. I've stopped logging in and I don't plan to again until they've rebalanced things so that there's a reason for me to run something other than a GEK with damage mods and nothing else.
Reps are meaningless when people die in the blink of an eye. Nanohives? When was the last time you ran out of ammo? You get more on the next spawn. Needles...well, people usually get overkilled and can't be revived. The only useful pieces of gear now are uplinks and scanners, and you really can't do game changing moves with the uplinks anymore since you can't sneak your way across the map to drop them in useful spots that will swing the battle. Until people start living long enough to need a logi nearby, logi will be useless. |

My logibros always earn atleast 2-3 times my own wp, that means roughly 2000-4000 wp. I think that they are pretty goddamn useful even if they go 0-3 KD. Its my fault i cant protect them better.
Low TTK? Get a better rep tool or heavy for that sake, and i run out of ammo all the time BTW, what do i see? an ocean of droplinks.

Its a thankless job most of the time. The only time people really notice you is when you revive them under fire. (**** happens?)
Also, its an isk intensive role. My adv pub suit is 70k, and proto is in the 250k range. Unless I'm flanking with uplinks, I'm in the fire every match, and I'm squishy as hell. In a hard fight I'll go something like 3 and 10 with 3700 wps, but whats 700k if it alows my team to go beast mode? o7 logibro4life

Um...ok...? Assaults still stack damage mods. Assaults still run the same weapons. The HP that Logis can stack over Assaults is pretty small and the issue remains that one of the biggest problems with Assaults/Heavies is that their role bonus is utter shite. |

No rep tool can repair more damage than the weakest weapon in this game deals, and people get vaporized the moment anything shoots at them. So what is the point of repair tools again? Only time you might use them is if you've got a heavy in a city with lots of cover around, or if you're part of a squad that makes it to one of the cheap high ground camping spots.
Which, incidentally, is the only place my nanohives ever get used anymore. The design for those relies on extended battles in a single area for them to be useful, but with the low TTK you don't get the epic drawn out fights anymore. I used to get 1500 to 3000 WP from logi work per game. The hives I throw out don't get used now, the people I'm with almost never need repairs and the only thing that does see any action are my uplinks. The logistics role has essentially been made pointless by the recent changes. You might as well run a squad of assault dropsuits with a few uplinks, a scanner and a couple hives for those exceedingly rare situations where ammo is needed. |

I'm still logi, but it seems to be getting harder to make a difference. I think improvements to hit detection have contributed a fair bit to this.
If you are getting hit you probably die, so less use for reppers after the fight. With better ability to hit at range I need a much larger "clear zone" around a body to revive safely. With people getting killed more often they don't run out of ammo so much, so less need for hives.
Uplinks and scanners are still very useful. In fact they are now almost essential in many game modes, so lots of people have them. No need for dedicated logi there.
Shadowing a heavy used to be a good option: they needed lots of ammo and could survive a toe-to-toe and therefore need reps afterwards. But most of the heavies I knew are now running other suits.
Not being able to easily see who needs reps when there's a mass of blue & green dots milling around in front of you is a real pain in the butt. You could be at 10% armour and walk right in front of me and there's a reasonable chance I wouldn't spot that you need reps. On top of that my rep tool seems to have trouble locking on recently.
I'll keep at it, but its getting easier to think "stuff it, I'll just shoot", even with my lousy gun game.

Logibro since the game went release, so the Beta Times and Crow-Ma-Zome are more legendary than real to me.
So much of being able to be a good support player is being in a squad that will use what you can bring. If you have 2-3 Slayers who are willing to keep good grouping and methodically work on scanned targets, it's heaven. You spend your entire time with either a scanner or repair tool in hand, and toss down hives as needed.
There's a lot of finesse I'm learning about using the repair tool. I think it goes hand in hand with active scanning. When you're focused on keeping people alive, getting that repper on them BEFORE they start taking fire is the biggest difference maker. That's why the scanner can help you predict ahead who you should have your repper locked onto.
There are a ton of moment-by-moment calculations that give me that hunch of whether I should have my gun or repair tool out. Even little things like the level of the squad mate's shield can mean the difference in a quick engagement. |

For months I had been running my Minmatar Logistics suits for infiltration work. With good speed, a low profile and maxed hacking skills I could sneak in and hack all the things and be able to kill a bit along the way. Since the repair tools were buffed I've been working a lot more as a Logibro.
For my own survival I run the Six Kin Triage, even on my normal advanced suit. I can stay behind cover and have enough reach to keep people alive for longer. As an independent contractor on the field it sometimes takes a bit to find people that need my assistance and are also not complete idiots that stand in the open and expect me to fix them faster than they suck up bullets.
TTK is too short. The CPM knows it and they say CCP knows it but neither have come up with a decent plan to fix it yet. However, smart players can use their brains to survive longer. Having a good Logibro at your back that isn't waving a giant 'shoot me first' sign is a good start.

Try and run the lai dai rep tool with 30 meters distance. That will help keep you alive and be healing your team keeping your distance from the frontline. You need a serious tank to run the core focus repper and survive being close to the frontline. The Lai dai is expensive but really worth it, if I am not running scout I will be running logi support.
