Have you actually tried to fit what you've just suggested? proto galogi with lvl3 engineering, but you dont need complex extenders, basic, none, or damage mods, or replace 1 complex plate with adv one |

So... Either you don't have the 500+ armour, or you don't have the damage mods/shield extenders.

My shield skills are maxed across the board and I have a Calogi proto.
I don't even use it unless it's got at least two enhanced plates.
I won't take anyone serious that's complaining about the armor buff not being significant enough.
I think shields would be good but damage just seems to be damage now. The specific damage types need to standout significantly more. I remember when you had to flux people with a MD.
Remove time in battle from ISK payout formula and provide a bonus to winning team... Watch battles become fun again.

Different play styles, I think it makes for diversified gameplay, plus our anti armor weapons are coming out soon.
Shields are NOT hit and run. Again armor maintains rep advantage in the short term not shields.
Shields do get a mobility advantage (albeit doing much less damage) but you know that means way less than it used to.
Listen I think shields v armor is the most balanced its ever been but I think there is room for improvement as both sides have something the other wants. |

Once hybrid sidearms and grenades come out, (with maybe a slight CPU/PG buff) the GaLass would be marginally better since they can fit better quality weapons. If CCP fixes the tagging system they use for suit bonuses to do what I think they're doing, it would probably get a better armor specific suit bonus to make it more defined as an offensive class over the logi while the logi keeps its needed survivability.

So if they brought the shield strength back would this be the ttk solution, before weapons are beaten by the nerf hammer? Shields weren't nerfed, improved hit detection and weapon stats balanced around poor hit detection has made TTK so low that health is virtually irrelevant. Shield don't need a buff, certain weapons need to be toned down to make health relevant again.
