we have The SCR. A weapon that has very HIGH DPS as its MAIN advantage.... ITS BEING CONSIDERED FOR A NERF? Yes this is a rant. Why would you want to NERF a weapon that already requires SO,MUCH, from the user?
GÖªLv 3 light weapons (compared to the Lv 1 needed for ARs) GÖªVERY HIGH CPU and PG usage GÖªOVERHEAT mechanic GÖªIn order to Use it to its fullest, An AMarr Assault is preferred (Being the only weapon needs a specific suit to be used better. The laser rifle does not directly apply since it overheats LESS the higher the Tier of the weapon. SCR dont have this) GÖªSemi Auto , not Full auto that TRULY abuses AA mechanics
So lets see. Many players have used the weapon saying its the next FOTM and then had to go BACK to their ARs after they learned they actually take some skill. They got killed by an imperial and after realizing the POTENTIAL DPS of the SCR , they whined and got a NERF scheduled for the Scrambler Rifle? Andi say POTENTIAL DPS, because this is in the imaginary scenario you dont miss a single shot,because missing a SCR shot is missing on 80+ PLUS adding overheat to the weapon, while missing an AR bullet is only missing 45 with no consequences.
So this is it then?

They all got some sort of NERF over the time and as they are NOW they are UP. The commando just has always sucked...
And now the only weapon that Works and is BALANCED (Because it IS powerful but it has Way too many drawbacks) and you are considering in NERFING it?
1st-DONT 2nd-If you do nerf it, i want a respec. To be a FOTM chaser as many others. Ive always tried to avoid FOTM trying to look for my own style.Since the SCR came out i've been using it, it felt ,..MINE. If you nerf it i not only DONT want to use SCRs anymore but i will even stop caring about Faction war all together. I would be a Fully pledged Merc. Main reason i stick with amarr (as a Dust player with not a lot of EVE history knowledge) Is because i feel comfort in their weapons,dropsuits and banner. If you take this away from me, then whats the point?
3rd- If you dont give me a respect to go FOTM hunting after you NERF my SCR, you've lost another player . YAY CCP.

i Think having a variant-tipe of all the Ar is stupid. What's the purpose in having both FULL auto and manual in the same rifle class?
Plasma Ar: Full-auto- low range- high DMG Minmatar Ar : Burst- Med dmg, med range, Burst SCR: As it's now, it perfect. Rail Rifle: Full Auto, Long range, Low DMG
So when you pick a rifle you know that you have some drawback. Having both full auto and single shot in every class iis really stupid and also make difficult balance the gun game.

What makes you think or have you read somewhere the SCR is getting a nerf. I doubt this is true, there are two new weapons on the way which are more powerful than all the current weapons we have so dropping the damage doesn't make sense. !

I've been hearing this for WEEKS now , and in a post True Adamance just told me it was.I usually dont pay attention to the nonsense players say in the forums, but since its adamance and i kind of trust him i took it seriously. Plus. Confirmed or not confirmed , its not any mystery CCP does anything in their power to make AR users happy and it wouldnt be strange for them to try and NERF the SCR.
Anyhow, Nerf or no nerf, my rage agains SCR QQ stands. My position IF the SCR gets nerfed, stands too...

Yo it's Oz , my oz account got the nerf hammer for so called " ranting" so carefull, these Ar clowns report anything that's outside their tunnel vision, I feel your pain. I want the scr for my scout but scared of the nerf, I too have had my whole point system screwed, I mean damn the sg finally became usefull after waiting since may! My min scout is crap, novas crap, faylock crap, skilled a logi an gallente scout to adv, but I'm scared to go proto on min logistic due to these morons wanting it nerfed to side arms, I don't even tank with a rifle, I speed shotgun, scanner an links an bombs.
I tried a AR last night on a neo gallente scout all platted up an I think is the way but damn I hate rifles, I want the auto scr for range an dps on my scout but I think I ll play it safe an get pro 5 on a pistol, rok the min scout wit 2x complex side arm damage an ish smg, their the only safe weapon non nerf " knock on wood".

Mass Driver, Grenades, Forge Guns, Flaylock, Shotguns, ScR Pistol and ScR, what do they all have in common? People get butt hurt over alpha damage. I don't think the ScR is going to be nerfed, maybe re-balanced along with everything since hit detection is fixed, but not a nerf.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Non Amarr Assault users should only be allowed one or two follow up shots after a charged shot (or maybe even auto overheat when releasing a charge shot). Amarr Assault, obviously, will be able to throw down 25% more bullets before overheat.
The purpose is to help alleviate DPS issues (charge shot + spam) and to make the charge shot a more situational mechanic that rewards "marksmanship", or in other words, rewards headshots.
Currently, I can charge a shot, hip fire in CQC, and if I miss, I still have 12 rounds before overheat (more than enough to take down a blueberry or at least do critical damage), or If I landed a direct hit, I got lucky. In long range, people don't even stand a chance unless there are multiple enemies team firing on me. |

So a PROTO amarr SCR user has the right after investing SP in the weapon AND the suit that GOES with the weapon,the right to shoot 1 more bullet after a charged shot than none amarr useras,for a grand total of 3. Seems Crappy to me.I think i deserve after the MASSIVE SP investment in both Proto SCR and PROTO AMarr assault FOR the SCR , to get tentitled at LEAST to 10shots after a charged one,you know to be able to kill AT LEAST 2 enemies, seems fair considering with a 60 bullet clip of a duvolle i can kill 5+ Redberries...

There are no DPS issues. The Weapon overheats whether you liek it or not,making it a GREAT 1 v 1 weapon, a sucky weapon vs Groups / squads of 3+ enemies. SITUATIONAL weapon bro.

The first day I used the SCR, is the day I knew it was a matter of time before it was pegged by the nerf hammer. I won't be surprised if CCP nerfed it, because gosh forbid that gun gets into skilled hands. Just because someone makes it look easy, doesn't mean it is.
This gun has balance built into it, and it has multiple counters to it in game... but that's not enough apparently.
BLAME THE IGNORANCE! 99% of my SCR kills come from some guy who thinks he can charge right at me or Its me shooting someone in the back running away, because they didn't take their position into account.
"I'm a Prototype with 1000HP, nothing can kill me la la la dee la... WHAT? Killed by an SCR in 20 shots!? NERF!!!!!"
Semi-auto weapons in this game already get nerfed enough because of lag.
Next will be profile dampeners. Even though the best Scanner can scan through the best Dampening setup. |

Amarr are the most underpowered as a race, if anything they need the smallest of buffs across the board. The ScR is fine in my opinion, especially if comparing it to the Assault Rifle. The AScR I can't talk about as I've never nutted up and used it. I have ScR to IV, just never thought to use it. I'll have an opinion later :3

I am fine with adding a little more heat to the charge shot but if they mess with the base damage or the ROF I too will be gone. I enjoy the risk/reward of the SCR over the spray AR and is the reason I spec'd into it.

... I stopped reading after you said 1-2 follow up shots before over heat. So, if I can only be allowed to do 500 damage before I have to wait 4 seconds for my gun to cool down? So anything that isn't a starter fit can kill me?
Last I checked, the AR was allowed to do 1800 damage before running out of ammo. The MD gets 1200. The sniper gets 1000, The SCR gets 1200 to IF you land every shot after the Charge Shot; a perfect volley.
So if it does the same amount of damage as every other weapon, why does it get gimped? It shouldn't be the user's fault that he out played the other guy, because his gun requires the MOST SKILL IN GAME to be dominate with it. |

The SCR is not OP in ANY way. Is the player that makes it OP or Crappy.

The Scrambler Rifle is the most balanced weapon in this game. I swear, when people say that the SR is OP, I ask them if they think the AR is OP.
Of course they tell me no, but look at the AR for a second:
-No kick or dispersion when ADS for 30 shots (half a clip), which resets when trigger is let go. -Can hit perfectly on target at 100 meters away by abusing this ^ -Can chew through 650 hp per second by aiming at a player's body and holding a button.
The AR should feel like the AR from Halo, or Resistance, or ANY OTHER GAME. I mean is it really that hard to understand this? If you've ever played another FPS, you know that ARs are balanced by dispersion at range. Other long-range weapons dominate ARs because ARs can't punch a whole clip into another player's skull at long distances as ADS only tightens the spread a bit instead of REMOVING IT ALTOGETHER.
ARs in other games feel like the HMG in this game. The AR in this game feels like an automatic sniper.
Gah.
At least the combat rifle is coming. I'm excited for that.

But quite honestly, its about time we take PREVENTATIVE measure against' CCP's bullsh*t. Because quite frankly, have their patch updates are things nobody talks about in-game, on the forums, on twitter, etc... Where do they get these ideas? They are off in their own little world, thinking they know what's best for the FPS community, when they are rookies to the game.
I hope its a rumor, but I've been hearing it in-game over squad chats more and more this week...
Can't CCP just stop with the nerf/buffs until all the weapons get put into the game? Can't they just do that for once? |

I stopped reading after after b. You've misunderstood me and/or the way the gun works. What I asked for is a greater heat build up value for the charged shot so that non ammar assaults can use up to two follow up shots immediately after a charge shot. Amarr Assault reduces heat the heat build up of regular AND charge shots. In other words, Amarr Assault will give you the same bonus as it does now because it effects heat build up. IT DOES NOT MULTIPLY THE REMAINDER OF POTENTIAL SHOTS LEFT BY 25% OR WHATEVER CRAZY MATH YOU THOUGHT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.
Also, you seem to have a very novice mentality of the scrambler rifle and other weapons (like ARs and LRs). Your arguments are riddled with more emotion than logic and rationality. Due to your obvious scrubbiness, gross misunderstanding of the Scr and other weapons you have lost all credibility. The only thing you can offer is a novice point of view. |

As it is Killing anything BUT 1 reddot at the time is very hard with the SCR DUE to the Overheat mechanic. You think since you come and talk pretty you are right? No bro ,words are words and the SCR needs no change, again in anycase , a RANGE buff.
Your idea is stupid , plain and simple. By reducing the amount of shots fired AFTER the charged shot to 1 or 2 you are atually giving the SCR the the WORST DPS of all light weapons.

Honestly the scrambler rifle (semi auto variant) is a really good weapon. It's extremely good in 1v1 situations however in 1v2s and up its hard because you will overheat unless they are mlt gear noobs.
The AR is equally as good, though I would say that the scrambler takes more skill.
I think the nerfing is coming from ppl who lose to it in 1v1 situations.
So yeah it's OP in 1v1s
Edit: it should be OP in 1v1s. It's an amarr weapon after all. Just like the scrambler pistol is OP in close range 1v1s

Well, the one thing to keep in mind is that they never nerfed the MD despite numerous rage posts on the forums. If anything, their recent history with non-AV weaponry has been to buff it.

Aren't all weapons supposed to have elements of this? That's how it is in EVE after all. And if you are complaining about the AScR, doesn't it just not overheat period, due to the low heat buildup inherent in its model? The Amarr suit doe not add any DPS to the ScR, just DPM because you can fire more shots before having to stop. It allows you more margin of error and the ability to attempt multiple takedowns, but doesn't help you directly.

Amarr have been suffering in this game far before HAV players :p Literally, Heavy and HMG nerfs hit before the removal of the Marauder class HAVs.

I don't think they will Nerf the scrambler. As it is now all the weapons at the moment since the update have been turned on their heads. Some needing better hit detection, and other things that plagued them. The weapons that seem to have suffered from this update are the semi-automatic scrambler rifles, scrambler pistols, HMG's, and turrets in general. All variants of the AR seem to have a range and no fall off. Sadly at the moment this includes the assault scrambler as well. I have seen quite a few people picked off with one from a longer distance than they are normally allowed. Though it is also more evident that even the Militia AR clearly has a big advantage than the other class of guns by the increase in their use in players who are skilled in other weapons trying to make a difference in matches. I am sure CCP will fix this soon as the lack of diversity will significantly cut player interests. I have to give it to team kong though. They are trying to implement two very big serious reworks in 1.7. Adding and adjusting infantry weapons, while fixing vehicles. If this gets pulled off successfully just in time for the holidays, I am sure CCP will increase their fan base. You also have to wonder how the Dev's are who are working non stop on these patch updates. Has to be brutal! |

GÖªBest case scenario, i get a respec, then i look at the weapons and decide, either go FOTM(combat or/and Rail rifles maybe?) or be faithful to my style ,and just stick with SMGs. GÖªMake a Good SMG loadout. GÖªenjoy my time with it. GÖªAnd in 1 or 2 month i'll see the first:
''SMG are OP, i could not kill with my Combar rifle at Optimal range'' or some OTHER BS. GÖªSMG gets nerfed GÖªI'll throw myself out of the window.

I think the Rail Rifles will be a good counter vs Scramblers. PLUS Duvolles will still own EVERYTHING inside the 35 mts range, this is not even in doubt....

Heh. And the SCR does work with Heavies because one of its advantages is that you really DONT need a lot of ammo. Second,Amarr Sentinels DONT feel the impact of SCR rifle FEEDBAKC damage Third, while overheated; Just crouch and then sprint to reset the animation.

I think the importance thing to realize is that we need to begin discussing balance rather than crying about a potential nerf. Currently, the scrambler rifle has always been a vets best kept secret. You know why? Because it's not an AR.
The imperial scrambler rifle has flown underneath the radar for two reasons: 1) It's ineffective in PC because of the sever performance issues (I can go more into depth on this subject). 2) Scrubs, for some reason, have this notion that the imperial takes a godly amount of skill to use. You think you got one shot because that guys is skilled? Nope. I just spammed the hell out R1. What makes the scram so potent is that it can unleash damage CONSIDERABLEY FASTER than any other gun. And if you start with a charge shot? You've got yourself a, roughly, 500 hp worth of instantanous damage + the 12 rounds of spam you can unleash in less than 2 seconds.
I don't want the scram to be nerfed alongside the TAC rifle, it just needs to be balanced better if it wishes to keep it's Alfa DPS. |

It does more damage per bullet than the TAC AR....rof is up to the trigger man.

Are you really forgetting how bad the TAC AR was? It actually replaced Duvolles comepletely. No other weapon has been OP enough to do that, not even the MDs.

I picked up the Imperial and stopped using the Duvolle and the Carthum Assault Scr. The only reason I put it down is because it overheats rather quickly in CQC. But then when I fit an smg in my Cal Assault suit, I have no problem. Will be better once I get my amarr suit. |

Semi Auto rather than Full auto? Laser instead of Hybrid? Secondary Fire option? The differences are quite obvious.

TBH I keep hearing about how the scr is OP, but when I use it on my alt (still haven't specc'd it on main yet, don't ask me why ) it doesn't feel way OP until I use a scanner. Knowing every enemies position (I guess most scouts don't use complex damps) just makes the charge shot so easy, and when it overheats I switch to my sidearm.
The fact is the dps output has a drawback, sure. The overheat mechanic definitely limits me, but overall with 3 damage mods I can put down 1k damage in a around a second, and the recoil isn't unwieldy. And if I happen to overheat while fighting a just switch to my scrambler pistol and own the rest.
Another thing. The charged allows you to handle multiple enemies way easier when they are closing the distance than the ar.
In practice you charge a shot and peekaboo out of cover and take out a guy before they have time to react, where the sustained fire from the ar ends up costing you more because of the inevitable return fire.
This assumes you have cover of course.
I think the coming range buff could be dangerous. No one likes to spec something that is or becomes op. It hurts me to tell other the gallente logi needs a nerf. But I know it does.
I'm not positive the scrambler needs a nerf...however I do think the amarr assault + scr is op. The number of shots you can take after a charged shot is just...well it's AMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAZZZZAAAAAAAANNNNGGGG!

You can't compare the Imperial to the Duvolle. You would have to compare the Imperial to the Tac AR and the Carthum to the Duvolle. And when you do that, you see that there isn't much difference as far as requiring skill.
To me, the scrambler rifle is an assault rifle deviant.....both uses the same shooting mechanics. They just have different qualities as far as bonuses to shield and penalties to armor. |
