This game has turned into a FPG(first person grenadier(R)) in the span of a month, core locus users are on the rise Everyone is realizing they OHK everything but pro meds and heavies. Add in they have a wider radius than the biggest resupply hive you can get(7.00 vs 7.20) couple that with map lighting, seeing a nade come at you is like trying to find a black crayon mark on a black jacket
This along with the fcuking "SCAN SPAM" has gotten out of hand.
Flanking and ANY sort of tactic in this game is completely out the window with the introduction of god mode scanners Not only do you know where the whole entire team is at AND going, you get too see them for the next 16 to 25 seconds! Couple that with the short cooldown, you literally get to see the entire red team for the entire match.

There, dealt with.
On a serious note, grenade spam is way, way out of hand. I would have no problem with them being restocked from supply depots in the same manner as equipment, or for that matter having to be switched to on the equipment wheel to cut down on panic grenades, but carrying three and having such easy restocks for such a powerful weapon is silly.

Just make grenades a weapon you have to manually switch to before you do anything drastic like this.
I may have deleted DUST but I still care deeply about this game.

The real problem is grenade cooking. The fact a person can cook a grenade for 2.5 seconds and hit you in the face with 500-600 damage with NO FORM of retaliaton is a BROKEN Game mechanic and should be removed. Grenade spam is stupid,no one should be in the same area for more than 5 secs, keep moving.

how many of these threads have we seen already?
there is nothing wrong with grenade spam. just like you forge gunners say your gun is not OP, locus grenades do LESS damage and cannot OHK militia vehicles.
as a scout, i have been killed by grenades more times than you know, but i honestly have more trouble with ARs and Mass Drivers.
it's usually pretty easy to avoid a grenade as you can usually hear them start to cook it.
a nice headset goes miles in the world of online gaming. you should get one, and watch your game awareness shoot through the roof.

Do you want proto scanners to be useless? Profile dampeners exist for a reason, and I can't think of a better way to emphasise their use than to actually make them relevant. Also, people who use proto scanners are sacrificing a lot of fitting space that could otherwise go toward better waepons and modules. The scanner trend will die down in a while, and then people will move on to spamming something else. What a lot of people don't realize is that anytime a particular weapon or piece of equipment is used by the majority of the team, an illusion of OP-ness is created. If everyone on the team used a Forge Gun, the opponents would be complaining about Forge Guns. If everyone used laser rifles, the opponents would be complaining about laser rifles. The same goes for so many different things, including shotguns, uplinks, tanks, dropships, mass drivers, scrambler rifles, HMGs, grenades, etc. The only weapon that people don't recognize the spamming of is the Assault Rifle, and to this day ARs continue to rake in more kills than anytbing else.
I'll give you 5 million ISK if you find the word gullible hidden in my post.

perhaps making grenades throw less often is the key. maybe 1 grenade every 3 seconds will do nicely.

I think COMPLETELY removing grenade resupply, from hives or depots is a childish quick fix, by butthurt proto suits!
HOWEVER, numerous things can be done to alleviate the situation.
Rejig ammo resupply protocols: At this time, nanohives will restock all ammo types simultaneously, giving priority to your grenades. Change it so if only restocks 1 ammo type per pulse giving priority to h, l, s, g
AOE lighting for grenades: MD, FG, SL, PC all have this effect as of .4 give locus orange and flux green light respectively. Prehaps even make it flash!
Change fuse pull time: add an additional 0.1secs to the shortest possible time it can take to throw a grenade.

Scanning spam, make all variants have a cooldown period of at least 200% of the tag period (time visible after scan)

Been saying for a while that being able to switch from a two handed weapon to lob a grenade and back to your weapon in mere seconds is silly. I wish I could pull out my equipment and repper this fast. Hell, I wish my mass driver shot M-1 locus grenades.

I usually come on here to troll but I'll be serious for once.
I have Ishokone nanohives on my assault suit soley for the grenades
I'm a prolific grenade spammer, I think max two grenades, reduce damage of Grenades 300HP(militia) to 400HP(proto) &also reduce the range so more skill is involved.
To the people who talk about dieng from a 'panic' nade that's you being ****.
Scrambeler rifles also need a nerf. |

check it out..... FIRST if your going to talk about buffing the grenade you have to talk about A REAL issue, MASS DRIVERS. grenades cant put out half of the dps a mass driver can ,you can spam with a mass driver twice as hard, plus you can rain g's down on people, you can only have three grenades in your inventory and it stops given them to you at certain extent so i really dont see how you can even be talking about this....
summary : MASS DRIVER HAS BETTER ROF, RANGE, ACCURACY, NO COOK TIME, MORE ANGLES, MORE AMMO AND, ETC

Grenade fuses need to be more random... So cooking a grenade could equal a pre mature explosion.
But grenade's in this game don;t even make sense in reality they don't even work like that IRL even the best grenade we have.

And again this is something CCP choose to do with a recent patches... They increased the blast radius because they where glitched... they then fixed blast radius and left the increased value... They then ramped up hit detection and still left grenades in their buffed state. |

I like using grenades i don't spam them, but it is pretty cool feeling getting in a gun fight with three other guys killing one of them then running away and killing the last two with a grenade that they ran into, because i through it well.

My futuristic space clone can already not; climb up hills/mountains correctly, jump over the smallest of obstacles on some planets with much lower gravity than Earths 9.78 m/s-¦, see certain walls at a relatively close distance, see if teammates are injured without aiming directly at them, (etc.). Now you're telling me my futuristic space clone shouldn't be able to cook grenades? Your logic is flawed. |

I agree, they need to reduce the radius and I think it'll be fine.

Taking up more nanites wouldn't help the problem, it would just waste nanohives faster. People would still resupply and grenade spam but then the people who actually need the nanohive wouldn't be able to use it.
