Poor Vehicle users that dont have proto vehicles. Again suggesting that proto vehicles wouldn't be a horrible idea that would only serve to make things worse. So you fix the balance issues between AV and vehicles by allowing a vehicle user to train up for one that can easily resist Proto AV? At that point, what's the point of even having Proto AV? No one will use any AV or Vehicles that aren't at the highest meta level, so you end up with AV players feeling like they can't do **** to vehicles again. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new vehicle system coming in 1.7. I think this has the potential to allow both AV and Vehicle players to feel useful and have fun. LOL its cute that you think 1.7 will have new vehicle system. |

The part about having a battle barge piloted by EVE players looks intriguing. I'll believe it when I see it, but if they could pull it off it would add a new profession to the EVE side of things. |

If anything I wish tanks and dropsuits worked the same way.
Militia Light Frame -no skill needed Basic Light Frame *equal to advanced* -At least one point in basic light frames Prototype Scout Frame -At least 4 points in basic and 1 point in advanced scout skill
I mean one thing I can't understand is why have so many tiers of suits. When the game was in beta each skill gave no bonus per level to suits. Instead the bonus only unlock better suits. I feel like the old system and the new system are at odds with each other from critical perspective. Since suits can get all get better from leveling them to 5, why have bonuses on a prototype suit at all? You can't use it without having 5 skills anyways.
Instead unlock the prototype suits at level 1, increase the influence of skill bonuses to a level like in eve online. There is no circumstance you'll have a protosuit and not have the skill at level 5. It removes the point of bonuses per level to only unlock the suit at level 5.
Or keep at 3 levels of suit but unlock all 3 at level one and make the isk cost the only difference.
Then they can sell those skill clusters as temp ways to raise your skill points. got to make money somewhere. |

I think that would open up hundreds of times the planets to PC as they have now.
IMO, the way to go would be to have a raiding system to destroy infrastructure and speed I-Hub/station timers. Fighting in Stations beats Walking in Stations.

But yeah, more differences in things to do, more player interactivity besides "This guy shoots guns like me" would be appreciated along with the new gear. |

what I would like to see happen is that PI gets a bonus from dust mercs running PvE against the drones on player owned planets. also that the map setup is based on the PI set up. Also that dust players can free roam and set up their planet for a home field advantage with installations of their choosing. |

Delta 749 wrote:we are still generally cut off from the EVE community such as not even sharing forums
Good, let it stay that way.
The EVE forums are special in that the only people who can post are those with subscriptions, the last thing we need are armchair nimrods posting who don't even have a sub, be they dusters or otherwise, on EVE discussions.
If we ever share forums, there needs to be a way where Dust Bunnies can only post in the dust sub-forums, and general chat, and Pod Pilots can only post in the eve sub-forums, and general chat, requiring both subbs (free Dustie out of academy and a paid Eve sub) to post everywhere. |

So I just finished watching pretty much the whole presentation, and I'm more convinced now than ever,Dust 514 will be dead with in 12 months.
It was stated and reiterated that they are "laser focused" on developing for PS3.This is pretty much a death sentence for the game.
On top of that, these changes regarding Loyalty Points without ever once defining what needed to be fixed with the core mechanics of the gameplay is more evidence to me that they really have no idea how to develop a shooter.
One thing I wished from the peanut gallery is that someone would have asked the question of what steps are CCP taking to acquire and bring back more players to the game. All of these so called changes and improvements won't mean squat when the playerbase is topping out at 2,000 players online at any given time.I'm sorry, but if anyone thinks that this game can be a viable entity with this much development, and that few of players, they are fooling themselves.
I was a little annoyed with the guys saying that there are 80 million PS3's,as if everyone that has a PS3 is 1)using it's online functionality, and 2) are all playing Dust. This guy is obviously directing damage control more than anything else, but no one with half a brain is being fooled.

Its still beyond me that people continue to give CCP a pass with this free notion when they chose the business model and touted that this was AAA level quality.
Now what I know is that when you say you can pick your own way to play and we have x races and y classes - I expect the very least of that at launch, not waiting months to hopefully have the opportunity to play that setup in the future. |

This needs to be repeated to remind people not to get their hopes up, and to expect further delays.
Then, when it finally arrives, a year over due, expect it to be buggy as hell. And probably in need of balancing. |

Yeah. Heard that before. In March when DUST "launched" and people were clamoring about well, damn near everything. Heavies were promised we'd have something other than the amarr fatsuit and that it was already being modeled and we'd see them in shortly.
I'm pretty much to the point of "Proof or it isn't happening" as far as Shanghai is concerned. PC team excluded. They've actually been delivering on what they tell us they're working on. |

Its a shame that what they have been delivering is garbage due to the fact that the rest of the game is pure crap.

I don't think they mentioned it in a dev blog as such, just as something they were looking to implement as per community request.
And no, its wasnt mentioned in the lecture. |

I found it in the "Equipment is Your Friend" blog of March 25:
Quote:So thatGÇÖs what you can expect in the next update, but what about beyond that? There are two equipment items on the top of our list that we want to get in to the game as soon as we can. The first is a Shield Generator. Ever wished for some cover where there isnGÇÖt any? Wish no more, with the shield generator youGÇÖll be able to deploy your own personal static shield bubble. Pretty handy when a ship is dropping bombs on your head from orbit or youGÇÖve been caught in the open by an enemy trying to melt you with a laser rifle.
The second item is a Cloaking Field. This sneaky bit of kit will not only make you (almost) invisible to other combatants, it will also blind turret AI targeting systems. It isnGÇÖt perfect invisibility, scanners will still pick you up if you havenGÇÖt masked your signal well enough, motion will disrupt the field to some extent and weapon fire will cause the field to shut down. This means it will take some skill to use to its maximum potential. This item is going to be a real game changer, particularly for Scout dropsuits which have been screaming out for stealth gear.
It was mentioned in the same breath as cloaking and actually came first.
That was seven months ago.
If they've stopped talking about it I can only assume that it's been scrapped or pushed to the back burner. |
