And to think they were just going to throw that map out! I'm so happy to see less work being thrown out and more forward thinking designs! I can't wait to shoot off the gaint cannon. that map has been so evil we can fight on it, but we can't use it ;_;

No he was definitely talking about PvE. Where you land on your planet outside of battle and have fun without the redzone in the way. This feature has been talked about and featured in interviews for years. The mega terrian system will one day make sure our maps are one of kind. More like giant permade pieces randomly put together but still! Progress! Persistence maps! |

CCP is at an all time laughable high.
not if they can pull off the player market 2.0 and at least the major FW changes as well as all suits by december... They have a window they can show me at least they can come through.
I was nice to see CCP say "Dust is not an mmo" I was like YEAH NO **** CCP and then they said "we're thiinking adding the mmo" me, HUZZAH! |

What I know for sure is that the one time I heard 'free roaming' in the presentation, it was during the Q&A session when that last guy asked about skirmish 1.0. Preatorion explained that the corridor like gameplay of skirmish 1.0 was not their focus, and that they needed 'free roaming areas' for vehicles instead. Anyhow, I sure hope we will be able to visit planets outside of battle one day, it would add greatly to the immersion and be an ideal environment for testing new gear and tactics. Ok so the plan I heard was this.
PvE on planets
Rouge drones stop slavage used to create raw materials for ground combat.
send up to space for eve players to buy from you
Eve players create gear with those materials and they can be sold back to the dust community
But yeah I'm not holding my breath for PvE before next summer release. More important things to be done! |

ugh it can hard to have fath when they ignore the community and have an unfinished game and are acting like it was ready for release... by unfinished I mean that's the impression people get when trying the game out and seeing odd things like missing racial suits and such.
But I know hopefully one day we'll look back and think, wow, dust used to be terrible thank goodness we're past that era ... |

Dust won't ever be "finished", just like Eve is never finished. They will always add features. And yes, that means not all features will be there from the start. Hell, there are things in Eve that NO ONE even thought about when the game first came out.
I've been here since playing eve since beta don't lecture me. Was eve released with minmatar frigates but no minmatar weapons, randomly only having only caldari and gallente battleships, or released with ships that have bonuses to weapons not in the game for years? No, no it didn't. So shut it, I've heard this 1000 times. What is with your people, I understand full well how CCP design games. You on the other hand obviously have no idea.
My point was when people log into dust the IMPRESSION *reading comprehension ftw!* people get is "wow this game is unfinished." The impression players get is all that is important. While eve had a rough start it wasn't missing any super basic core content also had more players online than dust has now.
A 60$ PC MMO title in 2002 with 15$ a month price tag at release had more players online than a f2p console shooter also made by CCP does in the same release timeframe. Do the ****ing math. People get an awful taste in their mouth when they try dust, it's not like it's not justified. Even if it's ignorance of the fact that CCP will never stop changing the game, they won't know that, they will only know what they can see.
Eve expands outwards, Dust is expanding inwards because there is no base to expands out from yet. We are waiting on core content that should've been in the game on release. It hurts the game in profound way, end of story. |

If anything I wish tanks and dropsuits worked the same way.
Militia Light Frame -no skill needed Basic Light Frame *equal to advanced* -At least one point in basic light frames Prototype Scout Frame -At least 4 points in basic and 1 point in advanced scout skill
I mean one thing I can't understand is why have so many tiers of suits. When the game was in beta each skill gave no bonus per level to suits. Instead the bonus only unlock better suits. I feel like the old system and the new system are at odds with each other from critical perspective. Since suits can get all get better from leveling them to 5, why have bonuses on a prototype suit at all? You can't use it without having 5 skills anyways.
Instead unlock the prototype suits at level 1, increase the influence of skill bonuses to a level like in eve online. There is no circumstance you'll have a protosuit and not have the skill at level 5. It removes the point of bonuses per level to only unlock the suit at level 5.
Or keep at 3 levels of suit but unlock all 3 at level one and make the isk cost the only difference.
Then they can sell those skill clusters as temp ways to raise your skill points. got to make money somewhere. |
